Abstract

This dedication aims to socialize and develop the human resources of FKIP Undana students based on the concept of national defense. FKIP Undana students have an important role in nation-building and need a deep understanding of the spirit of national defense and relevant skills. The community service activities are carried out in three stages: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. This dedication is a collaboration between the Defense University of the Republic of Indonesia and Nusa Cendana University. Socialization and discussion methods are employed in implementing the community service to FKIP Undana's community. The Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach is used to enhance the capacity and capabilities of students in the spirit of national defense. This approach aims to develop collective critical awareness of students' roles in a diverse society and the global challenges to national sovereignty. The results of this dedication indicate that the management of students' human resources (HR) in the context of national defense plays a crucial role in building capacity, increasing awareness, developing leadership, collaboration, and utilizing technology and social media. With effective HR management, students can become a strong force in the spirit of national defense, actively participate in national defense activities, prepare themselves as future generations ready to face national security challenges, and build cross-border relationships. Furthermore, the efforts of students as intellectual cadres include the development of critical thinking, innovation, information dissemination, constructive criticism, and supervision. The implementation of national defense among students can be carried out by incorporating national defense materials into the academic curriculum, organizing seminars and discussions, conducting physical and mental exercises, encouraging participation in national defense activities beyond the campus, and fostering awareness and the spirit of national defense through campus life.

Abstract

Magrove merupakan salah satu tanaman khas di daerah tropis yang mampu tumbuh didarat dan di laut, serta sangat baik untuk menjaga keseimbangan ekosistem pantai. Saat ini banyak lokasi pantai yang sudah rusak ekosistem mangrovenya, sehingga perlu rehabilitasi mangrove. Peran dan fungsi mangrove bagi lingkungan perlu disoaialisasikan kepada masyarakat sekitar. Kegiatan pengabdian ini ditujukan untuk mensosialisasikan peran dan fungsi mangrove di masyarakat sekitar dusun Susuk Kec. Kakuluk Mesak Kabupaten belu. Metode yang digunakan adalah sosialisasi, diskusi dan demonstrasi. Hasil Pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa masyarakat menjadi peduli dan mengetahui tentang arti pentingnya ekosistem mangrove bagi kehidupan manusia, disamping itu kesadaran dan peran serta tanggung jawab masyarakat sekitar untuk ikut menjaga lingkungan juga ikut meningkat dan terciptanya kerjasama yang baik anatara prodi permesinan kapal dengan masyarakat.

Abstract

Kelompok Nelayan Desa Kletek, merupakan salah satu kelompok nelayan potensial, karena kelompok mereka merupakan salah satu penyuplai hasil ikan terbesar di kab Malaka provinsi Nusa tenggara timur. Karena keberhasilan tersebut mereka di hibahi beberapa perahu fiberglas dengan tujuan untuk lebih mengotimlkan hasil tangkapan mereka. Namun sayang beberapa perahu trsebut mengalami cacat operasi sehingga dibiarkan begitu saja. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memgoptimlkan kembali fungsi kapal dengan cara melatih nelayan desa keletek untuk memperbaiki dan merawat perahu fiber tersebut. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode sosialisasi dan praktik. Hasil yang diperoleh dari kegiatan pengabdian ini yaitu mampu meningkatkan keterampilan nelayan dalam hal mengidentifikasikan jenis cacat pada bodi perahu fiber, mengenal karakter material dan mampu menggunakan peralatan perbaikan bodi perahu fiber, mampu memetakan area kerja, membuat campuran gelcoat dan melakukan proses perbaikan bodi dengan benar.

Abstract

The ability to write is an absolute requirement for students, especially related to the completion of assignments given by lecturers up to the final project. Obstacles arise because most students are still ignorant about citations and reference management, so plagiarism is rife. This service aims to train students to understand and master an application to assist in making citations and management of references using the Mendeley application. The service is carried out in three stages, namely the preparation, implementation and evaluation stages. Participants were 50 students of the Indonesian Defense University ship engineering study program. In its implementation, the training material is divided into 4, namely Mendeley installation techniques, citation techniques and reference management, introduction of Mendeley tools and demonstrations as well as training in using Mendeley. The material is delivered by lecture, discussion, demonstration and practice methods. The results of the service activities show that at the end of the training activities all participants are familiar with, able to install, and able to operate the application to make citations and bibliography properly and correctly. Participants have also been able to prove good citation and reference management for 30 articles. It is hoped that this training can be continued in the form of mentoring because it has a significant positive impact on students.
