Abstract

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to obtain empirical data about the Effect of Learning Method and Verbal Intelligence on English Writing Ability Grade VIII students of SMP Negeri 11 Tidore Kepulauan. This research uses experimental method with 2x2 treatment design, the method of taking is done by using research principles that is the treatment of sexual (treatmen). Treatment is given on the subject of research to improve students' English appeal. The independent variables consist of active variable (treatment) and attribute variable (moderator). The variable used is drill learning method and learning method that is moderator variable consist of high verbal intelligence and low verbal intelligence. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 11 Tidore Kepulauan. The result of the research shows that: (1) the ability to write English students who follow the method of learning drill is higher than the students who according to the method of learning lecture (2) there is the interaction effect between the students The learning method and the verbal intelligence on students' ) Ability to write English students The method of learning drill with high verbal intelligence higher than student learning outcomes Methods lecture lectures with high verbal intelligence (4) Ability to write English students The method of learning drill with verbal gender is lower than the ability to write English students in which the method of lectures with low verbal intelligence.

Abstract

In learning numbers and mathematical operations for class VII students of Muhammadiyah Middle School, Tidore Islands City, there are still many who get scores below the KKM (KKM 70), especially in solving questions related to mathematical problems. Therefore, efforts are needed to improve mathematics learning outcomes. This research aims to determine the improvement in learning outcomes of class VII students of Muhammadiyah Middle School, Tidore Islands City, Academic Year 2019/2020 in completing questions on the main material of numbers and mathematical operations through the implementation of the make a match cooperative learning model. The research subjects were 29 class VII students of Muhammadiyah Middle School, Tidore Islands City. The data collected includes student learning outcomes, teacher observation results, and student observation results. This research is Classroom Action Research (PTK) which is carried out in two cycles. Each cycle includes 4 (four) stages, namely planning, implementing actions, observation, and reflection. In this study, it is said to be successful if at least 85% of students get a score ≥ 70. The research results showed: (1) Student learning completeness in cycle I was 68.96% with an average score of 70.27 and in cycle II it was 86.75% with an average score of 80.65. The data above, clearly shows that in cycle I the learning outcomes did not meet expectations, which means the indicators of success have not been achieved, while in cycle II the learning outcomes were in line with expectations, which means the indicators of success have been achieved

Abstract

Mathematical representation ability is one of the expected abilities in learning mathematics in class. Very mathematical representation ability It is important for students to be able to make meaningful connections between concepts mathematics or between concepts and other fields or with life or environment around students. This research is important because it can analyze student representation abilities for students who have high, medium or low self efficacy to make it easier for teachers to apply appropriate learning methods. The aims of this research are (1) to analyze the influence of self-efficacy on students' mathematical representational abilities; (2) analyzing self-efficacy (high, medium and low) on the mathematical representation abilities of Tidore Islands City State High School/Vocational School students who implement the Independent Learning Curriculum. This research method is descriptive-quantitative with the type of research being causal survey research. Determination of the sample using random sampling techniques. The data collection techniques used were tests and questionnaires. The data analysis used is descriptive and inferential analysis. The findings of this research show that there is a significant influence of self-efficacy on students' mathematical representational abilities. The representative mathematical abilities of students for students who have high, medium and low self-efficacy results vary between one student and another.

Abstract

Academic achievement is often associated with cognitive ability; however, non-cognitive skills, such as grit, also play an important role in determining learning outcomes. Chemistry is a challenging subject because of the many abstract concepts that require perseverance and dedication to comprehend. This study aimed to examine the relationship between grit and students' cognitive achievement in chemistry learning at the secondary school level, as well as to evaluate the extent to which grit affects learning success. The method used was quantitative, with a survey approach of 200 students in class X in Pekanbaru, Indonesia. The research instruments consisted of a talent questionnaire and a multiple-choice test to measure cognitive chemistry achievement. The data were analyzed using the Pearson product-moment correlation technique after performing prerequisite tests, including normality and homogeneity tests. The results of the analysis showed a significant positive correlation between grit and cognitive achievement (p = 0.001 < 0.05), with a correlation coefficient of 0.234, which is classified as low. These findings indicate that students with higher grit levels tend to have better cognitive performance in chemistry learning, although other factors also play roles. In addition, this study is in line with the Sustainable Development Goal concerning Quality Education, particularly through its focus on the role of non-cognitive skills in learning.
