Abstract

This study investigates the factors influencing entrepreneurial interest among university students, focusing on the roles of self-esteem, entrepreneurial knowledge, and self-efficacy. Using a structural modeling approach, entrepreneurial interest is analyzed as the dependent variable influenced by these psychological and cognitive constructs. A key aim of the study is to examine the mediating role of entrepreneurial knowledge between self-efficacy and entrepreneurial interest. The results reveal that both self-esteem and entrepreneurial knowledge have direct and significant effects on entrepreneurial interest. Notably, self-efficacy does not influence entrepreneurial interest directly but exerts its effect indirectly through entrepreneurial knowledge, indicating a full mediation. This finding challenges the assumption that self-belief alone is sufficient to foster entrepreneurial motivation and highlights the importance of knowledge acquisition as a cognitive pathway toward entrepreneurial engagement. The study offers practical implications for improving entrepreneurship education—particularly in developing strategies that integrate confidence-building with knowledge-focused learning.

Abstract

Energy is a basic household necessity closely related to human health and well-being; unfortunately, not all households have equal access to energy. This condition is referred to as energy poverty, wherein a household lacks access to or cannot afford basic energy services to meet its daily needs. The goal of this research is to analyze the determining factors of the probability of households experiencing energy poverty in Indonesia, focusing on Household Demography and Household Expenditure factors. Using household survey data from IFLS4 (2007) and IFLS5 (2014) and employing Multinomial Logit analysis, this study aims to capture the differences between groups of energy-consuming households. The research findings indicate that households found it easier to access energy (especially gas) after the implementation of the energy conversion policy from kerosene to gas, which began in 2007. Based on the estimation results, the probability of households experiencing energy poverty in Indonesia in 2007 is determined by Education, Income, Spouse Work, Communication Cost, and Health Cost, while in 2014, it is influenced by Education, Spouse Work, Electric Cost, Fuel Cost, Health Cost, and Non-food Consumption. Other indicators of Household Demography and Household Expenditure show different results for each category and period. To address energy poverty, a change in perspective and reform of programs in the energy sector are required. The government can also provide energy subsidies and compensation to poor and vulnerable populations.

Abstract

Economic growth is an indicator that discloses the economic condition of a region. In 1990, Indonesia met its highest growth rate that had ever occurred, in which in subsequent years it tended to decline although Indonesia's financial and labor revenues increased. Therefore, this research aims to analyze the influence of financial and labor aspects on Indonesia's economic growth, both short and long-term. The research was conducted using quantitative descriptive techniques. Secondary data is in the form of time series. The analysis technique uses multiple linear regression with the ARDL (Autoregressive Distributed Lag) model. The research explains that tax revenue, and non-tax state revenue as financial indicators have a positive and significant influence, and labor has a significant negative influence in the long term, while foreign investment has a positive and insignificant influence. Tax revenues and non-tax state revenues have a positive and significant effect on Indonesia's economic growth, while foreign investment and labor have an insignificant effect in the short term for the period 1990-2022.

Abstract

The Global Food Security Index (GFSI) shows an increase in Indonesia's food security from 2021 to 2022. However, this increase does not yet indicate better Indonesian food security because this increase is still lower than the global average and the Asia Pacific average. The food security conditions of farming households could be a solution considering the importance of farming household food security which can deliver an impact in maintaining economic stability and reducing dependence on the market. This research aims to analyze the factors that influence the food security of farming households. The model used is Robust Regression since the Normality and Heteroscedasticity assumptions were failed. Data were taken from IFLS wave 5. Based on the results, it shows that the variables of age, gender, home ownership status, cooking fuels, electricity use and house location influence the food security of farming households. While, the variables of head of household’s education, availability of toilets and water sources have no effect on the food security of farming households

Abstract

Increasing economic growth will spark against increased energy consumption. But on the other hand, increasing economic growth will also trigger the occurrence of natural damage and degradation of environmental quality derived from CO2 emissions. CO2 emissions are caused by oxidation process of fossil fuel energy. This research aims to know the causality relationship between CO2 emissions, fossil fuel consumption, electricity consumption, and economic growth in Indonesia, as well as long-term relationship between CO2 emissions, fossil fuel consumption, electricity consumption, to economic growth in Indonesia in 1990 – 2019. The used data is the secondary data that is in the form of data time series. The dependent variables of this study are economic growth, while independent variables are CO2 emissions, fossil fuel consumption, electricity consumption. The method that is used in this study is Vector Error Correction Model. The results showed that there was a one-way causality between economic growth and fossil fuel consumption, and between electricity consumption and CO2 emissions. The research also shows that on long-term CO2 emissions has a negative influence, while the consumption of fossil fuels and electricity has a positive effect on Indonesia's economic growth in 1990-2019. Keywords: CO2, Energy Consumption, Economic Growth.

Abstract

The abstract is a brief summary of the entire article’s contents. The Indonesia is a country rich in natural resources, including oil and natural gas. However, in recent decades, Indonesia's dependence on oil and gas imports has continued to increase. This is due to a decline in domestic oil and gas production, which can no longer meet the growing national energy demand. This demand is driven not only by population growth but also by economic growth, which has led to increased energy consumption year after year. As a country that still relies heavily on crude oil and gas imports, Indonesia faces significant challenges in maintaining trade balance and economic stability. The purpose of this study is to determine and analyze the effect of Per Capita Income, Foreign Exchange Reserves, Exchange Rate, and World Crude Oil Prices on the Volume of Oil and Gas Imports in Indonesia from 1993 to 2022. This research uses time series data from 1993 to 2022 sourced from the World Bank and Statistics Indonesia (BPS). The study employs multiple linear regression analysis using the Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) method, processed with EViews 10 software. The results indicate that Per Capita Income and Foreign Exchange Reserves do not have a significant effect on the Volume of Oil and Gas Imports in Indonesia during the 1993–2022 period. In contrast, the Exchange Rate and World Crude Oil Prices have a significant effect on the Volume of Oil and Gas Imports.

Abstract

Abstract

Poverty remains a major issue in the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY), which has the highest percentage compared to other provinces on the island of Java. This condition indicates an inequality in welfare that needs to be studied, particularly in terms of education, health, and employment. This study aims to analyze the effect of Literacy Rate (LR), Life Expectancy (LE), and Open Unemployment Rate (OUR) on poverty levels in five districts/cities in DIY.  Using a quantitative approach with secondary panel data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the analysis was conducted using Fixed Effect panel data regression through EViews 12 software. The results show that the OUR has a significant positive effect on poverty levels, while the LFR and HLE have a negative but insignificant effect. These findings confirm that unemployment is the most dominant factor in determining poverty levels in DIY. The implication is that poverty alleviation policies should focus on creating productive jobs, aligning education with labor market needs, and equalizing access to health care to strengthen the socio-economic resilience of the community.
