<![CDATA[This research aims to find out Is there any significant differences between the impact of traditional teaching method and using Index Card Match in teaching English vocabulary at the First Year Students of SMA HANG TUAH 3 MATARAM and to find out does using Index Card Match have a positive effect on students’ vocabulary knowledge. The sample of this research is 40 students. The kind of this research is experimental research. The students are divided into two groups such as experimental group and control group. Then the research subjects are pre-tested to know their prior vocabulary mastery. After the treatment, the sample is post-tested to know their recent vocabulary mastery as the result of the treatment. The scores in both pre-test and post-test are taken as the main data of the research. The data is analyzed by using t-test.]]>

<![CDATA[This research was aimed to describe the use of mind mapping technique be able to improving students’motivation.The subject of this study was 37 students at second grade students of MTs. NW Mispalah Praya. In which consist of 25 males and 12 females. It is was classroom action research with one cycle, each cycle of four steps: planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The data gathering used observation sheet and test and analyzed by using quantitative and qualitative approach. At the result of pre-test was failed where the mean score of pre-test was 65 and class percentage was 52% and the result of the first cycle that the mean score was 70,4 and the class percentage was 100% indicating the target of 70 of the minimum criterion has been achieved, it means that the action was stopped ]]>

<![CDATA[This article attempts to explore the role of father’s communication in a child's mental development. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, the data were collected by interviewing 10 informants at Pondok Tahfidz Karanganyar, then the data were analyzed by literature review. The results showed that father's communication to children is very important in forming the child's mental. In addition, harsh communication to the children will negatively affect the child's mental development, so they become testy, often moody, and difficult to socialize. The quality of father and child communication is influenced by several factors, such as education level and family economic condition. Thus, the father must pay attention to the quality of his communication in order to form a positive mentality to the child.Keywords:father, communication, child’s mental development]]>

<![CDATA[This research aims to (1) describe the students and teachers characteristic requirement to the listening assessment tool, (2) to build a listening assessment tool prototype, (3) to present the expert test result, and (4) to describe the effectiveness of the web-based listening assessment tool to X class of Senior High School in Magelang. This research uses Research and Development (R & D) approach. The Data collection techniques used in this research are: observation, documentation, interviews, and questionnaires. The result of the research is to create a listening assessment tool that can be accessed online by students using laptop, computer, or smartphone through access http://www.nyemakbasajawa.com. The Web tools generated in this research is an instructional assessment tools for X class senior high school, the assessment tool consist of crita cerkak, pawarta text, and descriptive text of Javanese traditional house. The assessment tool has got validation from experts in this material and graphic/media experts, and has been successfully tested to the target students. The validation and test results show that the assessment listening tool has been qualified and effectively used as an assessment tool for learning Javanese in X class senior high school.]]>

<![CDATA[Reading comprehension is important skill to acquire information and knowledge from any kind sources. Difficulties in reading comprehension for students in learning English as EFL/ESL has forced teacher to apply appropriate principles and strategies. One strategy that believed can help to solve the problem in reading comprehension is assessment. Four Roles Model can be adapted for assessment and used as a framework to address the complex nature of reading comprehension difficulties by considering the reader as: (a) a code-breaker, (b) a text-participator, (c) a text-user, and (d) a text-analyser. Breaking the code emphasised decoding of the words, and encoding of information, understanding the conventions of written, spoken, and visual multimodal texts by recognising and using the surface features of print. There are two kinds table of assessment. Table 1 presents a flexible reading comprehension assessment matrix showing the four roles of the reader with the before, during and after reading phases. Table 2 shows the elements within the matrix can be adjusted to reflect appropriate items suited for different stages of reading development or with a particular focus in mind.]]>

<![CDATA[This study is concerned with the meaning of the English variety spoken by the Balinese vendors in Kuta beach, Bali which is located south of Denpasar City and become a tourism icon. As a part of tourism industry, Kuta beach is often visited by tourists from all over the world. There is a variety phenomenon in speaking English that may influence misinterpretation even though misunderstanding in face to face communication among the vendors and the tourists. This study aims to describe how is the semantic meaning which refers to the meaning in the dictionary and pragmatic meanings of the English variety of the Balinese vendors in Kuta beach, Bali. The result of this study is expected to be able to give new information to the readers about the meaning of the English variety spoken by the vendors in Kuta beach, Bali as a part of Sociolinguistics study. As descriptive study, the data findings in this study are described in form of words, phrases, and sentences. The data were collected by using two methods, participant observation and interview. Participant observation was mainly used to get the significant data from the subjects of the study. Audio and note taking techniques were used to collect the data during the participant observation. The result of the present study shows the meaning and characteristic English of Balinese vendors in Kuta beach, Bali is different from the meaning of the English used by the tourists (native speaker). Some English phrases which they use sound uncommon and sometimes they are ambiguous when they are used within a sentence.]]>

<![CDATA[Berkembang pariwisata di Nusa Tenggara Barat di tandai dengan pemberian anugrah destinasi wisata halal terbaik dunia, sudah menjadi kaharusan untuk menyiapkan SDM dibidang pariwisata dengan sungguh-sungguh sehingga SDM akan tetap mempertahankan anugrah tersebut. Salah satu bentuk partisifasi perguruan tinggi adalah dengan memberikan pembekalan dan pelatihan di masyarakat sekolah dan masyarakat pelaku wisata melalui kegiatan PKM. Tujuan PKM ini adalah melatih siswa jurusan pariwisata di SMK Negeri 1 Batulayar Lombok Barat untuk menjadi pemandu wisata. Kegiatan ini dilakukan di SKM Negeri 1 batu layar Metode kegiatan adalah cermah, diskusi dan praltik dengan tahapan pemberian materi, praktik, pendampingan dan evaluasi. Hasil dari kegiatan ini adalah pengetahuan dan pemahaman siswa meningkat tentang menjadi pemandu pariwisata, keterampilan-keterampilan dalam memandu meningkat dilihat dari kemampuan mereka dalam menerapkan strategi-strategi pemandu wisata yang profesional. Meskipun ada peningkatan sebagai calon pemandu para siswa masih kekuranga dalam berkomunikasi menggunakan bahasa inggris, sehingga kedepan perlu adanya pelatihan dan pendampingan lebih banyak, sehingga saat mereka lulus dari sekolah mereka siap menjadi pemandu yang profesional.Tour Guide Training for Tourism Department Students at SMKN 1 Batulayar West LombokAbstractThe development of tourism in West Nusa Tenggara is marked by the awarding of the best halal tourist destination in the world, it has become a necessity to prepare HR in the tourism sector seriously so that HR will continue to maintain the gift. One form of university participation is to provide training and training in the school community and tourism community through PKM activities. The purpose of this PKM is to train students majoring in tourism at SMK Negeri 1 Batulayar West Lombok to become a tour guide. This activity was carried out in SKM Negeri 1 Batu Layar. The method of activity was a reflection, discussion and practice with the stages of providing material, practice, assistance and evaluation. The results of this activity are increased students' knowledge and understanding about becoming a tourism guide, and the skills in guiding are increasing in terms of their abilities to implement professional tour guide strategies. Although there are improvements as prospective guides students still lack communication in using English, so in the future there needs to be more training and mentoring, so that when they graduate from school they are ready to become professional guides.]]>

<![CDATA[The labor process is influenced by three factors, namely Passage (birth canal), Passanger (fetus), Power (strength). Childbirth can run normally if all three factors are met properly. In addition, there are other factors that affect the delivery process, namely psychological and helper. Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) can be reduced by various efforts, both promotive and preventive, by providing education in preparation for childbirth. This education can be an alternative for pregnant women to find out the extent of maternal and fetal development, increase maternal independence and train coping management for maternal stressors. Pregnancy exercise is a form of coping method that can avoid the occurrence of physical stress due to pregnancy, such as reducing leg and back cramps, increasing the mother's ability to adapt to changes in her body. This study aims to identify the effect of labor preparation services (pregnancy education and exercise) on the preparation for delivery of pregnant women in the working area of ??the UPT Puskesmas Alas Barat. Pre-experimental research design with one group pretest-post test design. The instrument used for data collection is a questionnaire. Testing the instrument using the product moment person validity test and reliability test. The analysis used is simple linear regression with the number of respondents as many as 102 pregnant women. The results showed that the regression significance value of the delivery preparation service variable (pregnancy education and exercise) on the preparation for delivery of pregnant women was 0.000 or less than 0.05. The hypothesis which states that delivery preparation services (pregnancy education and exercise) has an effect on preparation for delivery of pregnant women (accepted). Based on the results of this study, it can be suggested that pregnant women play an active role in participating in activities during pregnancy so that mothers have knowledge about the needs during pregnancy, especially preparation for childbirth so as to minimize emergencies to the mother and fetus during the delivery process.]]>
