Abstract Online journal systems literacy and Google Scholar among Tarakanita College (STARKI) is carried out to bridge the process of transformation from print journals to online journals. Therefore, careful preparation needs to be done both in terms of resources and technical aspects, including lecturers as sources of manuscripts must understand how to work online, as well as the technical ability to manage journals online. The intended participants of this training activity were 34 lecturers and education staff consisting of administrators of the Jurnal Administrasi dan Kesekretarisan and the Jurnal Ilmu Komunikasi and Bisnis, as well as permanent and non-permanent lecturers of STARKI. It is hoped that through mentoring to the STARKI team is the ability to work scientifically independently armed with an understanding of the mechanism of SINTA, ARJUNA, and Google Scholar (GS) and STARKI journals can obtain optimal accreditation. Furthermore, the STARKI journal can be a contribution to education in particular, for the wider community to enjoy the knowledge that can be justified.Keywords: Google Scholar; Literacy; Online Journal System; STARKI. Diharapkan melalui pembimbingan kepada tim STARKI adalah kemampuan untuk bekerja ilmiah secara mandiri berbekal pemahaman mekanisme SINTA, ARJUNA, dan Google Scholar (GS) dan jurnal STARKI dapat memperoleh akreditasi optimal. Selanjutnya, jurnal STARKI dapat menjadi salah satu sumbangan bagi pendidikan khususnya, bagi masyarakat luas dapat menikmati pengetahuan yang dapat dipertanggungjawabkan kebenarannya.Kata Kunci: Google Cendekia; Jurnal Berbasis Daring; Literasi; STARKI.

Computer-mediated communication on distance learning brings various effects on thelecturers and the higher-education students. Distance learning has been performed on campusesin Indonesia since the pandemic of Covid-19. This research aims to describe the students’deception via computer-mediated communication. Interpersonal deception and computer-mediated communication theories are chosen to analyze this deception phenomenon. Data were collected through questionnaires and distributed to students in Jakarta as the red zone of the pandemic ofCovid-19. The findings show the students tended to manipulate information before they deliver it tothe audience and to hide their identity or presence during the virtual classroom.

Artikel ini merupakan artikel tentang pelaksanan pengabdian kepada masyarakat oleh civitas akademik STIKS Tarakanita. Para pengabdi adalah dosen dan mahasiswa program studi Ilmu Komunikasi yang tergerak untuk membina anak-anak yatim-piatu di Depok Jawa Barat. Tujuan layanan ini adalah untuk memberdayakan anak-anak yatim piatu. Metode yang digunakan dalam melaksanakan pendampingan kepada anak-anak ini adalah dengan mendampingi mereka dalam belajar; belajar Bahasa Inggris dan pendampingan mengerjakan Pekerjaan Rumah (PR) sekolah mereka. Kegiatan tersebut tidak hanya bermanfaat bagi anakanak panti asuhan nemun juga berguna bagi para mahasiswa sebagai pendamping. Mahasiswa mendapat pengalaman mengelola anak-anak untuk memanfaatkan waktu dengan kegiatan yang positif, mahasiswa mendapatkan pembelajaran untuk bersabar dan kreatif sehingga kegiatan tersebut dapat berjalan dan menyenangkan sehingga anak-anak termotivasi untuk memanfaatkan waktu luang mereka dengan hal-hal yang bermanfaat. Anak-anak panti asuhan juga mendapatkan pembimbingan yang rutin dilakukan oleh para mahasiswa. Kata kunci: Layanan; Gelar Tikar; Yatim-Piatu; Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat.AbstractIt is about student’s participation to Campus Social Responsibility of STIKS Tarakanita civitas Akademik. The participants are a lecturer and students of communication study program and the subjects of this activity are are children in an orphanage house in Depok, 30 km from campus. The objective of the service is to empower the unlucky children. Method used is accompanying them to do something useful such as learning English and studying for their lessons. By doing so, they do not wander on the street and in malls nearby. By doing this kind of activity, there are two parties getting the advantages from this social service activity. Students are learning how to teach others. It is something useful for their lives and the students are also learning how to appreciate their teachers. On the other hand, the children of Gelar Tikar spend their time with something beneficial to their lives.Keywords: Gelar Tikar; Social Service; Orphanage; Campus Social Responsibility.

This research focuses on non-verbal communication of sarong worn by Ma’ruf Amin as the candidate of Vice President of Republic Indonesia for the period of 2019-2024 who had been declared by the public election commission (KPU) on Junie 28, 2019. To analyze the meaning of sarong, the researchers use semiotics of Charles Sanders Peirce. The findings indicate that sarong denotatively means a piece of cloth which is sewn at its end to become a kind of tube to cover part of man’s body especially his stomach and below. Furthermore, sarong has very deep meaning, they are showing self-identity, local culture, the symbol of resistance to the culture of the west, it shows sincerity, complex way of thinking, flexibility, elegance, smart thinking, and excellent morality.

BEHIND THE CONSTITUTIONAL COURT DECISION: COMMUNITY SERVICE BY STUDENTS AT THE CONSTITUTIONAL COURT. One of the social services done by students of Tarakanita Higher School has just finished. It was at the Constitutional Court, Jakarta. It is also the rarest event since it does not even happen in five years. It gave students of secretarial training opportunity to take part in this honorable event where they are given chance to perform their capability in trancribing every conversation took place during the sessions of presidential election despute 2019. There are 32 students joining in this special event. They are grouped into two shifts i.e. morning and evening shift. Each student is responsible to transcribe the conversation happened in all sessions. Several days before the sessions, they were briefed and trained to work in accordance with the standard of work of Constitutional Court. The conclusion is that students are able to join in any social services and their involvement is highly appreciated.

Abstrak: Sampah organik terus menjadi masalah di kota-kota besar. Disamping terbatasnya Tempat Pembuangan Akhir (TPA), sistem pengolahan sampah juga masih belum maksimal. Akibatnya, kebersihan lingkungan kurang terjada dan polusi udara meningkat. Peran masyarakat dalam mengolah sampah harus digalakkan secara masif dan berkelanjutan. Salah satu bentuk pengolahan sampah skala rumah tangga adalah dengan mengolah sampah terutama sampah kulit buah dan sayuran yang dapat diolah menjadi cairan yang berdaya guna luar biasa. Eco-enzym adalah salah satu produk pengolahan sampah kulit buah dan sayuran yang tidak hanya memiliki ekonomis tinggi namun juga membantu merawat bumi dalam skala kecil. Tujuan tulisan ini adalah untuk memaparkan sebuah kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dalam bentuk pemberdayaan warga untuk mengolah sampah kulit buah dan sayur menjadi cairan eco-enzym yang kaya akan manfaat. Metode pelaksanaan adalah dengan penyuluhan dan percontohan kepada warga di Bekasi Selatan kegiatan ini dapat diambil hikmah bahwa merawat bu. Hasil penyuluhan dan pelatihan pemanfaatan limbah dapur dapat memberikan manfaat bagi warga, selain mengurangi sampah rumah tangga yang harus dikirim ke tempat Pembuangan Akhir, juga bermanfaat secara ekonomi warga.Abstract: Organic waste is still a problem in big cities. In addition, it is limited Final Disposal Site (TPA) area. The waste management system is not optimal as well. As a result, environmental hygiene is lacking and air pollution is increasing. The role of the community in processing waste must be massively and sustainably promoted. One form of household-scale waste processing is to process waste, especially fruit and vegetable peel waste, which can be processed into liquids that are extraordinary useful. Eco-enzyme is one of the products for processing fruit and vegetable peel waste that not only has high economics but also helps to care for the earth on a small scale. The purpose of this paper is to describe a community service activity in the form of empowering residents to process fruit and vegetable peel waste into an eco-enzyme liquid that gives benefits to the society. The implementation method is through counseling and demonstration to residents in South Bekasi. The result is that this training and this activity can be beneficial for the people and it reduces the garbage in the final garbage pool.

In the constellation of the 2019 presidential election, there is something very interesting. Prabowo's camp quickly announced his vice-presidential candidate but Jokowi did not immediately announce his chosen vice-presidential candidate. Even until the last moment, Jokowi let the issue of the vice-presidential candidate rolling in the community. Unexpectedly, Jokowi chose a man who was never included in consideration of public. Jokowi's choice also made several names with the initials M as stated himself that his chosen vice-presidential candidate was M. Surprisingly, he announced that his chosen vice-presidential candidate was Ma'ruf Amin, a senior cleric and Chairman of the MUI (Majelis Ulama Indonesia). The issue of Ma'ruf Amin's selection in this study focuses on social exchange theory from Richard Emerson and the concept of political marketing from Jennifer Lees, especially the MOP (Market Oriented Product) model with a qualitative multimodality approach. Data were analysed using a visual text analysis to dig deeper into Jokowi's non-verbal meaning by deciding to choose Ma'ruf Amin as a vice-presidential candidate. The data were photos of the nomination of the presidential and vice-presidential. The findings of this study are that the election of Ma'ruf Amin is the most appropriate and accurate choice to defeat Prabowo. By choosing Ma'ruf Amin, Jokowi won before competing against Prabowo. Ma'ruf is a symbol, means, and source of Jokowi's victory

This research is done with the purpose of analyzing the framing used by Fox News and CNN to frame the issue of the U.S. President, Donald Trump’s, interview with politics journalist, Bob Woodward, for his new book, “Rage, which discusses the president’s downplay on the COVID-19 pandemic. The theory used in this research are Agenda Setting theory from Maxwell McCombs-Donald Shaw, and Propaganda theory from Harold Lasswell. This research will also use the study of hermeneutics as its research model. To collect data, Robert N. Entman’s framing analysis modelwill be used. As for the result of this research, it is discovered that FoxNewsdan CNNeach uses a different set off raming to frame President Donald Trump regarding news about COVID-19 in the United States. The frame used is especially heavier on news broadcasting of the downplay issue found in the Bob Woodward interview tapes. Fox News tend to defend President Donald Trump’s act of downplay, in order to protect his image. The media also constantly credits the president’s success on handling the COVID-19 pandemic. CNN on the other hand, is keen to expose the president’s carelessness and negligence in handling the pandemic, by bringing to light the false statements he made in the interview with Bob Woodward.
