<![CDATA[The aim of this research is to analyze students? language attitude towards blended learning model for writing subject. The mix method was applied through the combination of quantitative data and qualitative data. The former was administered to the students through the four-point likert scale survey. The latter was obtained from the interview. The data was processed and computed by employing SPSS 24, then explained descriptively. The result of the study was classified into three categories namely affective, cognitive, and conative. The first was at moderate level with range 2.51--3.50. The second was at moderate level with range 2.51--3.50. The last was at moderate level with range 2.51--3.50. Overall, it is confirmed that the students positively behave on blended learning model in writing subject. In emphasizing the result, the interview illustrated that students showed good attitude on writing subject when taught by using blended learning model.]]>

<![CDATA[This study aims to determine whether cognitive strategy can improve students' skills in writing descriptive text, and what factors affect the improvement of writing skills. This research is a classroom action research conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consists of four meetings. Each consists of plan, action, observation, and reflection. Participants in this study is as straight as the students of class VII-2 SMPN 1 Indra Praja Tembilahan totaling 22 students. The data of this study were collected through: (1) observation sheet; students, teachers, teaching steps (2) field notes (3) interviews, and (4) writing tests. This study found that the use of cognitive strategy can improve students' skills in writing descriptive text. The findings of this study indicate that there is an increase in the average score of students above the completeness criteria of a minimum of English subjects is 75. The factors that influence the skills of students in writing descriptive text are (a) reading material given to the students, (b) motivation students, and (c) teacher's approach to students. So it can be concluded that the application of cognitive strategy on the teaching of reading descriptive text can give positive results with the increase of students' skills in reading descriptive text.]]>

<![CDATA[The availability of reading teaching materials is very necessary in future learning. In today's learning, teachers are required to be more creative in creating interesting learning, but still pay attention to the characteristics of the nation's culture. Therefore, it is necessary to develop teaching materials for reading through humanist literacy based on e-books. The basic problem is currently the lack of availability of digitally integrated reading teaching materials. The problem in this study relates to the need for e-book-based humanist reading teaching materials. The purpose of this study is to find out the need for e-book-based string reading teaching materials. The research method used is descriptive method. The data of this research are the results of questionnaires, interviews and reflection results. These data were sourced from research respondents who were obtained randomly. Data analysis was carried out in an interactive reflective manner using TagCword and AntCont. The results of the study describe students and lecturers in Riau province need to develop e-book-based reading teaching materials. The content of the required material is material that is integrated with the Malay Teaching and Learning. The text orientation needed by students and lecturers in Riau province is a text that reflects the attitudes and behavior of the Malay people.]]>

<![CDATA[The limited knowledge of students and teachers in multiliteracy-based learning media is one of the obstacles in language learning. Through this community service activity, it is hoped that both parties, teachers, and students, can be more motivated to improve language multiliterate skills. This activity was carried out as a training activity in the form of an exhibition, where several technology-based learning media that could help increase students' multiliteracy were exhibited on banners. This activity was carried out at SMKS YAPIM Siak Hulu Vocational School, with students and language teachers participating. The results of the activity evaluation show that this training is very useful in helping teachers be able to explore ideas, analyze learning needs, design learning models, design learning models, and present learning models. So, in the end, multiliteracy learning can be implemented by utilizing a variety of learning resources and critical literacy stimulation to motivate students.]]>

<![CDATA[The implementation of this workshop was motivated by the importance of utilizing interactive learning media in teaching to create more effective and varied teaching and learning activities. The researcher proposed a solution to the main problem experienced by students at SMK Yapim, which is the lack of time spent learning English at school. This results in a gap in English language skills among students. The objective of this training is to train students' independence in utilizing interactive multimedia as one of the additional learning alternatives at SMK Yapim Siak Hulu and to assist teachers and students in facing the challenges of an increasingly advanced digital era by utilizing interactive multimedia technology as an effective learning tool. This assistance will use training and tutoring methods. Afterward, The workshop team will assist students in the preparation stage and writing workshop. The material presentation activity by the PkM team begins with an introduction to interactive multimedia, starting from the concept of speaking, how to access Kahoot, how to use Quizziz, and how to use Nearpod. There was a positive response from class X Ak / TKJ students to take part in this training activity by following the activity session from start to finish. Students are asked to access the 3 applications to follow the directions and learn through this application. Therefore, at the end of the activity, the PkM team distributed questionnaires to students related to learning activities, namely the media used by students while studying at SMK]]>

<![CDATA[Pengabdian kepada masyarakat dalam bentuk pelatihan menulis cerita dengan tema religi telah dilakukan kepada siswa kelas IX.8 di SMPN 1 Tualang. Pelatihan ini dianggap urgen karena minat siswa dalam bersastra khususnya menulis cerita mash rendah. Tujuan dari pengabdian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan keterampilan menulis, meningkatkan pemahaman agama, membangun karakter dan moral, serta menciptakan lingkungan kreatif dan toleran di sekolah. Metode pelatihan mencakup pembukaan dan pemaparan materi, pelatihan menulis, presentasi dan diskusi, serta penilaian dan penghargaan. Hasilnya menunjukkan peningkatan keterampilan menulis siswa, pemahaman agama yang lebih dalam, dan terciptanya lingkungan belajar yang lebih kreatif dan toleran. Analisis hasil, hambatan yang dihadapi, serta implikasi jangka panjang dari pelatihan ini dijelaskan dalam artikel pengabdian ini. Simpulan menyoroti pentingnya pengabdian kepada masyarakat dalam mengembangkan potensi kreatif dan nilai-nilai moral siswa.]]>

<![CDATA[Writing ability is one of the demands of learning English. However, writing is also the most difficult skill faced by high school students in the city of Pekanbaru. For this reason, the learning model should be appropriate in accordance with the age development and problems faced by students. Thus, the authors attempted to analyze; (1) the effect of blended learning on students’ writing ability; (2) the effectof language attitude on students’ writing ability; and (3) the effect of blended learning model and language attitude on students’ writing ability. Referring to the problems and purposes of this study, the author used a quantitative approach namely the experimental method with factorial design. The research was conducted at SMAN 6 Pekanbaru by using a random sampling technique. To measure students' writing ability, the researchersemployed a writing test. Whereas to obtain information or collect data related to language attitude in this study, the researchers distributed questionnaires that have been tested for validity and reliability. After collecting data, researchers tested the data and hypotheses using SPSS 21. In this study, data was normally distributed and the population was homogeneous so that hypothesis testing could be continued. Based on the results of hypothesis testing, this study could be concluded that; (1) there was an effect of blended learning on students’ writing ability; (2) there was an effectof language attitude on students’ writing ability; and (3) there was no effect of blended learning model and language attitude on students’ writing ability.]]>

<![CDATA[Learning material is one of the crucial elements that must be considered in learning. However, learning materials used are still conventional in the form of hardcopy and softcopy, so students are reluctant to read. Specifically, in the English for office course, simple and practical learning material is needed so that they can support both theory and practice. Related to this problem, the purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of android-based learning material on learning achomplisment and its effectiveness of the implementation of android-based learning materials in improving learning outcomes. The study was conducted at Universitas Islam Riau on students who took English for office courses. Through random sampling techniques determined the sample of the experimental class and the control class. Data was collected through pre-test and post-test distribution in the two sample classes. Based on several stages of data analysis, the data is normally distributed and the data variants are homogeneous. Furthermore, paired sample t-test, showing a significance value of 0.039 <0.05, it can be concluded that there are differences in the average learning outcomes for pre-test and post-test in the classes taught by applying android-based learningg materials. While the N-Gain score test revealed that the implementation of android-based learning material was quite effective to improve learning outcomes with a value of 63.00%. So it can be concluded that, there is an influence and quite effective android-based learning materials on learning achomplisment.]]>

<![CDATA[Teaching materials are a set of tools or facilities that contain materials, methods and evaluations used by teachers or lecturers in learning. So far, the teaching materials released by several developers have rarely been in accordance with the needs of Mechanical Engineering students, where some of the teaching materials available still use general English. In this study, in order to compile an appropriate teaching material, researchers have conducted a needs analysis. Needs analysis is a fundamental aspect for English language lecturers for specific purposes (ESP) in identifying information or the main needs of students and investigating areas of student shortages. In line with this statement, this research is a case study design that aims to determine the needs of mechanical engineering students in learning English through Padlet at the Faculty of Engineering in the 2019-2020 academic year. The data in this study were collected from researcher observations, questionnaires and semi-structured interviews with 40 students and two English language lecturers in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. The results revealed that speaking and writing are the main focus of English skills in the Mechanical Engineering department and listening along with reading are the next English skills needed than others.]]>

<![CDATA[This study aims to determine the phenomenon of educational behavior issues in posts by Indonesian youth on Facebook social media. This type of research uses qualitative methods with a phenomenological approach. The researcher chose to use this method with the consideration that the phenomena under study are phenomena that require the use of more profound observations and observations. The researcher wants to clearly describe the object of research through the phenomena experienced by related informants, namely youth posts on Facebook social media. In phenomenology's view, this study is based on state circumstances to give a naturalistic impression. This study found that Indonesian youth discussed many issues in the world of education on Facebook social media. Posts by Indonesian teenagers on Facebook prove that five main sub-themes form the basis of Indonesian youth's conversations regarding the education theme. The sub-themes in question are promotions, activities, assignments, speeches, and achievements]]>
