Abstract

Broadcast communication in the digital era, especially television media, has experienced very strict selection in the last few decades. Media corporations compete fiercely to captivate viewers with news coverage that provides insight and conveys information to the public. The West Nusa Tenggara TVRI News Program still exists to this day, although so far it has received little attention from the public. This research aims to identify the form, process and impact of broadcast communication on the news program "West Nusa Tenggara Today" broadcast by TVRI West Nusa Tenggara. Using a qualitative approach and data collection techniques using non-participant observation and using agenda setting theory to dissect each problem formulation. The research results show that the form of broadcast communication on the news program "West Nusa Tenggara Today" is carried out by verbal communication using language symbols. The communication process occurs when humans interact. The mass communication process is the delivery of messages from communicators to communicants using media as a tool to support the widespread dissemination of information. The impact of the news broadcast is to provide change, namely the knowledge gained. Viewers can obtain the latest information through well-communicated news broadcasts. The negative impact is that the broadcast that is broadcast can cause differences in perception regarding the meaning of the message, which will cause divisions.

Abstract

Ritual communication carried out by the Pandita is an important aspect in maintaining spiritual connectedness between the people, the universe, and God. This analysis will examine how the Pandita uses symbols, language, and gestures in religious ceremonies to convey religious messages and build a deep spiritual atmosphere. The purpose of this study is to analyze the process of ritual communication of the pandita in Hindu religious ceremonies. The research method used is qualitative descriptive with data collection techniques, namely observation, interviews and documentation. The results of the study are the Central Role of the Pandita as a spiritual mediator who connects Hindus with God through religious rituals and also conveys religious and moral values. Ritual communication in Hindu religious ceremonies involves the use of symbolic language, such as mantras, and sacred objects (fire, incense, tirta) that have deep spiritual meaning. This symbolism enriches the communication process between the people, the pandita, and divine power. Mantra as Sacred Communication in Mantras spoken by the pandita in Sanskrit or Old Balinese are a form of verbal communication that is considered to have spiritual power. Non-Verbal Communication: Body movements and ritual attitudes carried out by the pandita during the ceremony are also important forms of communication. Social and Cultural Functions: Ritual communication led by the pandita plays a role in strengthening social cohesion and cultural identity in the Hindu community. Ritual ceremonies not only function as a spiritual means, but also as a medium to strengthen relationships between community members and maintain cultural heritage. Education and Transformation of Religious Values act as educators who convey Hindu teachings directly through rituals. Through ceremonies, pandita teaches moral values, ethics, and religious teachings that are relevant to the lives of the people. The ritual communication of the pandita in Hindu religious ceremonies is a complex and profound process, involving various forms of communication, both verbal and non-verbal, to convey spiritual messages, strengthen social ties, and maintain the cultural identity of the Hindu people.

The results of the study obtained in this study were that brand image did not have a partial effect on purchasing decisions with a small t count from the t table, namely 1.759 <1.985 and a significance value greater than 0.05, namely 0.082. Brand trust had a partial effect on purchasing decisions with a t count greater than the t table, namely 6.465> 1.985 and a significance value less than 0.05, namely 0.000. Brand image and brand trust simultaneously influence purchasing decisions with a calculated F value greater than the F table, which is 49.219> 3.09 and a significance value smaller than 0.05, which is 0.000. The determination coefficient test obtained in this study was 0.504 or 50.4%. This means that brand image and brand trust have a 50.4% influence on purchasing decisions. So it is concluded that brand image has no influence, because there are other factors that influence consumers in making purchasing decisions, namely brand trust.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the communication management that takes place in the Nyepi Day celebration in Lombok, with a focus on the integration between local traditions and the influence of modernity. Nyepi Day is one of the holy days in Hinduism that has deep meaning in the teachings of the Vedas, and involves a series of profound and symbolic rituals. In the context of Lombok, the Nyepi celebration shows the interaction between traditional communication maintained by the indigenous community and the use of digital media that is increasingly growing, especially among the younger generation. The research method used is a qualitative approach with descriptive analysis. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with religious leaders, customary leaders, and Hindu youth in Lombok, as well as participant observation of the procession and digital communication related to Nyepi. This study also examines the theory of ritual communication, new media theory, and diffusion of innovation theory to explain the dynamics of communication that occurs. The results of the study indicate that although digital media plays an increasingly large role in disseminating information about Nyepi, traditional communication involving direct interaction between community members and the delivery of religious teachings by customary leaders still plays an important role in strengthening the spiritual meaning of the celebration. The integration of social media and other digital platforms has succeeded in expanding the reach of information and increasing community participation, but also presents challenges in maintaining the depth of religious and cultural values. In conclusion, communication management in the Nyepi Day celebration in Lombok shows success in combining traditional and modern elements, creating an inclusive communication space, and strengthening the religious and social identity of the Hindu community. This study contributes to the understanding of adaptive religious communication management in the digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the public relations (PR) communication management strategy in improving excellent service at the Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of West Lombok Regency. The background of this study is based on the importance of effective communication between government institutions and the community in creating quality public services. The approach used in this study is qualitative with descriptive methods. Data collection techniques were carried out through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and documentation studies of internal office parties and community users of the service. The results of the study indicate that the PR communication strategy implemented includes planning targeted communication messages, utilizing information media such as social media and bulletin boards, and interpersonal approaches through direct services. This strategy has been proven to be able to increase public understanding of service procedures, build public trust, and strengthen the positive image of the institution. However, the study also found several obstacles such as limited human resources trained in the field of communication and the suboptimal periodic communication evaluation system. This study concludes that PR communication management that is designed systematically and contextually plays an important role in supporting excellent service. Strengthening communication capacity, using appropriate media, and involving the community in the communication process are the keys to creating effective, efficient, and humanistic public services. The implications of this study are expected to be a reference in developing PR strategies in other government agencies.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the symbolism and theological meaning contained in the structure of the Sudhi Wadani ceremony through a Hindu philosophical approach, particularly those derived from the Vedas, Upanishads, and tattwa teachings. The research method uses a qualitative approach with observation techniques, in-depth interviews, and document studies with religious practitioners, traditional leaders, and relevant religious texts. The results of the study show that each stage of the Sudhi Wadani ceremony, from physical and spiritual cleansing, chanting mantras, offering banten, to the declaration of dharma, contains symbolism that represents the process of self-purification, transformation of consciousness, and reaffirmation of the relationship between Atman and Brahman. The theological meaning of Sudhi Wadani is oriented towards personal purification and the affirmation of life ethics through Tri Kaya Parisudha and the realization of the concept of moksha as the ultimate goal of humankind. Sudhi Wadani is not merely a ceremonial ritual, but a practice of Hindu philosophy of life that emphasizes the transformation of consciousness towards spiritual purity. The symbolism present in this ritual depicts the process of humankind's return to its true self (Atman), while its theological meaning emphasizes the cosmic connection between humans, nature, and Brahman. Thus, Sudhi Wadani has strong relevance as a spiritual practice that unites aspects of ritual, theology, and philosophy into a unified whole.
