Abstract

Patalagan is a village in Pancalang subdistrict, Kuningan. Almost all village residents work as farmers. The large potential of human resources is the main capital for this village to carry out empowerment activities, especially for housewives. One type of empowerment is making products that are very useful for supporting health and preventing disease, especially in this post-COVID era, namely hand sanitizers. This product can be made from simple chemicals. The composition can also be combined with herbal plants, for example Aloe vera which has various pharmacological activities, namely antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral. This plant is often found in Patalagan village, so it can be used to make aloe vera-based hand sanitizer (HANDSLIB). The aim of this service is to increase village residents' awareness of the health benefits of hand sanitizer and aloe vera and improve the skills of mothers in making hand sanitizer. The method used was education about the health benefits of handsanitizer and aloe vera for health and training in making HANDSLIB. The training activity was carried out on 04 February 2024 offline at the house of one of the residents of Patalagan village. Training and counseling was carried out with 12 participants. The results of the evaluation of hand sanitizer training activities showed that the mothers were skilled at making hand sanitizer made from aloe vera (Handslib)

Abstract

Background: Minyak gosok yang mengandung minyak atsiri serai memiliki keunggulan karena disamping mendapatkan manfaat dari minyak gosok yaitu meredakan nyeri otot dan sendi, pusing, masuk angin, keseleo, mual dan melegakan pernafasan juga mendapatkan manfaat dari kandungan minyak atsiri serai seperti antioksidan, antibakteri dan antijamur. Adapun tujuan dari program pengabdian ini yaitu meningkatkan kesadaran warga desa akan manfaat minyak atsiri sereh dan minyak gosok herbal, melatih ibu-ibu untuk membuat alat destilasi sederhana dengan menggunakan alat-alat yang ada di rumah untuk mendapatkan minyak atsiri serai, serta melatih ibu-ibu untuk membuat minyak gosok herbal (SOBAT). Metode: Mitra dalam kegiatan ini adalah ibu-ibu rumah tangga desa Sarewu dengan jumlah peserta sebanyak 15 orang. Metode pengabdian terbagi ke dalam tiga tahapan utama yaitu persiapan, pelaksanaan dan evaluasi. Hasil: Hasil kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah ibu-ibu rumah tangga dapat merangkai alat destilasi sederhana dengan memanfaatkan alat-alat di dapur, ibu-ibu rumah tangga dapat membuat minyak SOBAT dan naiknya kesadaran  ibu-ibu rumah tangga Desa Sarewu akan manfaat kesehatan sereh bagi kesehatan. Hal ini terlihat perubahan signifikan pada kategori sangat setuju dari yang sebelumnya tidak ada responden yang menyatakan sangat setuju akan manfaat kesehatan serai (0%)  menjadi 7 orang (46,7%) responden yang menyatakan setuju akan manfaat kesehatan serai. Kesimpulan: Kesimpulan  dalam pengabdian ini adalah meningkatnya kesadaran mitra akan manfaat kesehatan minyak atsiri sereh dan minyak gosok herbal, mitra menjadi terlatih dalam membuat alat destilasi sederhana untuk mendapatkan minyak atsiri serai dan dalam pembuatan minyak SOBAT.

Abstract

The mangrove family (Rhizophora stylosa) has been used as traditional medicine. Due to the habitat of mangroves, they develop unique phytochemicals. Thus, they have the potential to become a source of plant-based therapeutic agents. However, many of the them remain uninvestigated. The purpose of this study was to predict the potential of some phytochemicals of the mangrove family as an inhibitor of both viral gene expression and bacterial nucleic acid. Some bioactive compounds of mangrove (taraxerol, pyrethrin, 2-Furancarboxaldehyde, and avicequinone A) were used as subject of this study. The main protease (Mpro) of SARS-Cov-2 virus (PDB ID: 6y2e), the staphylococcus aureus's proteins: topoisomerase II DNA gyrase (PDB id: 2XCT), and tyrosyl-tRNA synthetase (PDB id: 1JIJ) were used as targeted protein. The drug-likeness of compounds were analyzed using Swiss ADME based on the Lipinsky rule of five. Meanwhile, the affinity value between proteins and ligands was predicted using Autodock Vina. The root means square distance (RMSD) value (<2 A) and the binding cavity of drugs (ivermectin and ciprofloxacin) were used as validation parameters. This study resulted that only taraxerol compounds have a violation of Lipinsky's rule. Even so, out of the phytochemical compound of mangrove, the taraxerol has the highest affinity in Mpro and topoisomerase II DNA gyrase protein, although still lesser than ivermectin against Mpro; while avicequinone A has the highest affinity against tyrosyl-tRNA synthetase. This concludes that some phytochemicals of the mangrove family could be developed as an antibacterial and antiviral agents of therapy.

Abstract

Salak (Salacca zalacca) merupakan buah asli Indonesia yang banyak digunakan untuk pengobatan. Kulit buah salak mengandung flavonoid yang dapat menurunkan kadar glukosa darah. Biji buah salak memiliki aktivitas antioksidan. Kulit dan buah salak selama ini tidak digunakan padahal limbah-limbah ini dapat dimanfaatkan untuk tujuan kesehatan. Desa Nanggela di Kabupaten Cirebon merupakan salah satu desa penghasil salak dengan sumber daya manusia terutama ibu-ibu rumah tangga yang memiliki keinginan yang tinggi untuk memajukan desanya dengan memanfaatkan potensi wilayah yang ada. Oleh karenanya, tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah membuat PROPOSAL (Produk-produk salak) yaitu teh kulit salak dan kopi biji salak untuk meningkatkan nilai guna dari limbah salak serta meningkatkan kemampuan ibu-ibu rumah tangga di Desa Nanggela untuk berwirausaha. Metode yang dilakukan dalam kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah penyuluhan manfaat kesehatan salak, pelatihan pembuatan teh kulit salak dan kopi biji salak, demo yang dilakukan oleh warga untuk membuat teh kulit salak dan kopi biji salak, pelatihan pembuatan packaging dan branding agar menarik konsumen, pelatihan perizinan bahan makanan dan pendampingan pemasaran produk. Acara pengabdian dihadiri oleh 25 hingga 30 peserta dengan rentang usia 20 hingga 40 tahun. Hasil dari pengabdian ini adalah masyarakat memahami manfaat kesehatan seluruh bagian buah salak, peserta mampu membuat teh kulit salak dan kopi biji salak, serta warga memahami proses perizinan produk rumahan. Semua hal ini tentunya dapat membantu meningkatkan perekonomian warga.

Abstract

Indonesia is a tropical country with very diverse plants. This plant is a source of secondary metabolite compounds that have pharmacological activities that combine a variety of them including antifungal. One of them is the white lotus (Nymphae alba). This plant contains flavonoids, phenols, terpenoids and alkaloids. This plant also has pharmacological activities including antioxidant, antiobesity, analgesic and antidiarrheal. This study aims to determine the inhibition zone of white lotus acetone extract (N.alba) against the fungus Candida albicans. The extraction process was carried out by maceration method with acetone solvent for 3 x 24 hours. The antifungal test method was carried out using the disc diffusion method, three concentrations of acetone extract were used, 25%, 50% and 75%, the positive control used was ketoconazole and the negative control was 10% DMSO. The results of this study were white lotus acetone extract which had an inhibition zone value of 11.8 mm for the extract with a concentration of 25% in the strong category, 14 mm for the extract with a concentration of 50% in the strong category, and 16.3 mm for the extract with a concentration of 75 % in the strong category, while the positive control has an inhibition zone value of 10 mm. This proves that white lotus has good potential as an antifungal agent from plant.

Abstract

School principal leadership plays a strategic role in improving teacher performance as one of the key determinants of educational quality in schools. Principals function not only as administrative managers but also as instructional leaders who guide, supervise, and motivate teachers. This study aims to analyze principal leadership strategies in improving teacher performance based on findings from previous studies. The research employed a literature review design by analyzing relevant Indonesian national journal articles published within the last ten years. Data were collected through a systematic search using Google Scholar with keywords related to principal leadership and teacher performance. The data were analyzed using a qualitative descriptive approach through data reduction, thematic categorization, and synthesis of research findings. The results indicate that effective principal leadership strategies in improving teacher performance include academic supervision, enhancement of teacher motivation and discipline, exemplary leadership, participative leadership, effective interpersonal communication, and the strengthening of school culture. These strategies are interconnected and should be implemented in an integrated manner to enhance teacher professionalism and sustainable performance improvement. This study is expected to serve as a reference for school principals and educational stakeholders in developing effective leadership practices in schools.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pengamatan peneliti terhadap banyaknya kasus penyakit kulit di Indonesia, salah satunya adalah infeksi kulit yang disebabkan oleh bakteri dan jamur yang dapat diobati dengan bahan alami seperti daun jamblang (S. cumini L.). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi senyawa metabolit sekunder dan membuktikan kemampuan ekstrak etanol daun jamblang (S. cumini L.) dalam menghambat pertumbuhan Propionibacterium acnes, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, dan Candida albicans. Ekstrak dibuat dengan cara maserasi menggunakan etanol 96% selama 3x24 jam. Kemudian dilakukan skrining fitokimia, analisis KLT dan pengujian aktivitas antibakteri dan antijamur dengan variasi konsentrasi 20%, 40%, dan 60% menggunakan metode difusi cakram. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa ekstrak etanol daun jamblang mengandung metabolit sekunder seperti alkaloid, tanin, saponin, dan flavonoid yang berperan dalam menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri dan jamur. Aktivitas antibakteri dan antijamur menunjukkan bahwa konsentrasi 60% memiliki zona hambat terbesar, yaitu bakteri P. acnes sebesar 14,38 mm, P. aeruginosa sebesar 12,61 mm, dan jamur C. albicans sebesar 11,23 mm, sehingga semua hasil dikategorikan "kuat
