Abstract

This research was conducted with the aim of obtaining an overview of the use of Screencast O Matic in empowering oral communication skills of students of the Biology Education study program, University of Timor. This research is quantitative descriptive. The research subjects were students of the Biology Education Study Program at the University of Timor who programmed the Teaching and Learning course. The instrument used is an open questionnaire containing five questions. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. The results showed that empowering the oral communication skills of students of the Biology Education study program at the University of Timor could not be carried out optimally. The reason is the low readiness and awareness of students to take part in new lecture patterns, including lectures based on Screencast O Matic.

Abstract

Objective: This study examines the success of the INSETS model learning tool based on the local wisdom of Sopi culture of the Dawan tribe of East Nusa Tenggara to improve the science attitude skills and character of high school students. Method: This study applies the Instructional Design Model (IDM). Data were obtained from two observers who provided an assessment of the science attitude and character behavior of students shown by students during teaching and learning activities. Results: The results showed that the INSETS learning model based on the local wisdom of Sopi culture of the Dawan tribe of East Nusa Tenggara was effective in improving the science attitude skills and character of students, as evidenced by the results of the assessment of science attitudes and character of students during learning took place in the good to very good category. Novelty: Students' science attitude skills and character can be trained by integrating the INSETS learning model based on the local wisdom of Sopi culture of the Dawan tribe of East Nusa Tenggara to equip students in 21st Century education.

Abstract

Masalah rendahnya hasil belajar kognitif siswa merupakan tantangan yang dialami oleh guru di SD Negeri Noebesa. Penelitian tindakan kelas ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa melalui penerapan model pembelajaran Make a Match. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa instrumen soal tes hasil belajar kognitif serta lembar observasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran dengan model Make a Match. Penelitian melibatkan siswa kelas IV SD Negeri Noebesa dan penelitian dilaksanakan sebanyak tiga siklus. Setiap siklus dilaksanakan melalui tahapan perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi dan refleksi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan hasil belajar siswa kelas IV SD Negeri Noebesa melalui penerapan model pembelajaran Make a Match. Hal tersebut terlihat dari peningkatan nilai rata-rata hasil belajar kognitif siswa dari nilai rata-rata 49,85 pada siklus pertama menjadi 68,04 pada siklus kedua dan 83,32 pada siklus ketiga dengan ketuntasan belajar siswa meningkat hingga 83,33 %. Keberhasilan tersebut dipengaruhi oleh keterlaksanaan pembelajaran yang semakin optimal, suasana belajar yang interaktif dan menyenangkan serta peningkatan kerja sama dan motivasi siswa dalam proses pembelajaran. Refleksi dan perbaikan berkelanjutan pada setiap siklus juga turut mendukung keberhasilan pembelajaran sehingga menunjukan potensi model pembelajaran Make a Match dalam menciptakan pembelajaran yang efektif dan mencapai hasil belajar yang optimal.

Abstract

School financial management is a crucial factor in supporting the provision of educational facilities and infrastructure, particularly in border areas facing various resource constraints. This study aims to analyze the application of financial management in providing school facilities and infrastructure in the border area of ​​the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI) and the Republic of Timor-Leste (RDTL). The study employed a qualitative approach with a multiple case study design in four schools: Kota Baru Public Junior High School, St. Antonius Padua Sasi Junior High School, Noemuti Public Senior High School, and Fatumfaun Public Junior High School. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation, then analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing techniques. The results show that the implementation of school financial management varies across schools, particularly in aspects of budget planning and funding source management. Noemuti Public Senior High School had the best financial management with a score of 96%, while Kota Baru Public Junior High School received the lowest score of 62%. In terms of facilities and infrastructure, Fatumfaun Public Junior High School received the highest score of 92%. Although basic learning facilities are relatively available, some supporting facilities are still limited. The findings of the study indicate that planned and transparent financial management plays a crucial role in supporting the provision of educational facilities and infrastructure in border areas.

Abstract

This study aims to integrate a valid, practical, and effective local wisdom-based science learning model (INSETS) so that it is feasible to improve the critical thinking skills of high school students. The research design uses a development research design with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The subjects in the limited trial were conducted in class X at SMA Dharma Ayu, consisting of 19 students. The data collection process was carried out through documentation, tests, and questionnaires. The data analysis techniques used were quantitative and qualitative descriptive, n-gain, and paired t-test. The research results indicate: (1) the content validity of the INSETS learning model meets the criteria of very valid, (2) the consistency of the construct validity of the INSETS learning model meets the criteria of very valid, (3) the implementation stages of the INSETS learning model in limited and extensive trials fall within the good and fairly good criteria, and (4) students' critical thinking skills in limited trials and widespread tests increased significantly. It is concluded that the INSETS learning model developed is feasible to be used to effectively improve the critical thinking skills of students at SMA Dharma Ayu Kefamenanu. The results of the pretest and posttest trials were normally distributed and homogeneous. The paired t-test results showed that the significance level was < 0.05. This means that the INSETS learning model based on local wisdom is effective in improving the critical thinking skills of tenth-grade students at SMA Dharma Ayu.
