Abstract

This paper discloses the urgency of the concepts of sulthan and iqra?-istiqra? in the revitalization and realization of Muhammadiyah education. This effort is in line with the notions proposed by KH. Ahmad Dahlan, namely: (i) comprehension of tawhid; (ii) modernization of Islamic teachings and traditions; (iii) revitalization of Islamic values and teachings; (iv) repetition of Islamic teachings and tradition; and (v) realization of Islamic teachings into enlightening legacy. The challenge faced by current education is: how to encourage and generate students with creativity and self-esteem as well as multiple intelligences and skills. Based on the Qur?an [55: 33], being creative and dignified is the self-preparation to possess sulthan, namely: (i) knowledge (conceptual and technical); (ii) leadership management; (iii) interpersonal communication skills. Furthermore, the Qur?an [13: 11] also reveals this self-preparation requires a change of mindset (??), as an effort to have a perfect sulthan in terms of character or mentality. The Qur?an [96: 1-5] reveals those who have sulthan are continuously performed iqra? (deductive reasoning) and istiqra? (inductive reasoning). It is accompanied by devotion to the truth and respect for the dignity of human. Such a mentality can be developed through knowledge and discipline integrity, being open-minded and humble, and self-control. It is discussed in this paper by using philosophical approach and Qur'anic studies, particularly on the relation between the verses and KH. Ahmad Dahlan?s notions in the context of Muhammadiyah education.

Abstract

Abstract: COVID-19 pandemic influenced major sectors in many countries all over the world. It influenced economic, health, and education sector. One of many impacts was in education sector on school from home policy. Boarding school, as the institution, had policy to open school during pandemic. Even though, opening school has many risks as transmission and spread of COVID-19 virus infection. So that, every school has to do many efforts to prevent COVID-19 transmission and spread. Al-Ishlah Islamic Boarding School had particular team to do these preventions of COVID-19 transmission and spread. The team consist of Al-Ishlah High College of Al-Qur’an and Science community service, Al-Ishlah task force unit for COVID-19, and Al-Ishlah Clinic. They had done many things to prevent COVID-19 transmission and spread at Al-Ishlah Islamic Boading School area as respond to pandemic. Al-Ishlah Islamic Boarding School had more than 2.000 students and educators. Al-Ishlah Islamic Boarding School located in Sendangagung, Paciran, Lamongan, East Java, Indonesia and the large of area was about 2,5 hectars. The preventions of COVID-19 transmission and spread in Al-Ishlah Islamic Boarding School consist of planning, organizing, actuating, monitoring and evaluation. All stages have been well done.Keywords: prevention, COVID, boarding schoolAbstrak: Pandemi COVID-19 telah banyak mempengaruhi hampir seluruh negara dalam berbagai sektor. Baik itu sektor ekonomi, kesehatan itu sendiri, maupun sektor pendidikan. Salah satu dampak yang paling dirasakan oleh sektor pendidikan adalah aturan bahwa sekolah harus dilaksanakan dari rumah. Meskipun begitu, lembaga sekolah berbasis asrama atau pondok pesantren mendapatkan kebijakan untuk melakukan pembelajaran dengan tatap muka. Namun dalam pelaksanaan pembelajaran tatap muka tersebut, ada risiko terjadinya penularan dan penyebaran penyakit COVID-19 di lingkungan pesantren. Sehingga harus ada upaya-upaya yang dilakukan untuk mencegah terjadinya penularan dan penyebaran penyakit COVID-19 tersebut. Tim Pengabdian Masyarakat Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Al-Qur’an dan Sains (STIQSI) bersama dengan satuan gugus tugas COVID-19 Al-Ishlah dan Klinik Al-Ishlah telah melaksanakan beberapa upaya sebagai strategi pencegahan penularan infeksi virus COVID-19 di Pondok Pesantren Al-Ishlah Sendangagung Paciran Lamongan yang memiliki jumlah santri dan tenaga pendidik lebih dari 2.000 jiwa dalam lahan seluas sekitar 2,5 hektar. Upaya pencegahan penularan infeksi virus COVID-19 dilaksanakan dalam beberapa tahap. Tahapan tersebut terdiri dari perencanaan, pengorganisasian, pelaksanaan, monitoring dan evaluasi. Semua tahapan dalam upaya pencegahan penularan infeksi virus COVID-19 telah dilaksanakan oleh tim dan telah berjalan sebagaimana mestinya.Kata Kunci: pencegahan, COVID, pesantren

Abstract

Metodologi Studi Islam dalam perdebatan ilmiah akademik dipersoalkan: apakah cukup menggunakan pendekatan normative saja, historis saja, atau gabungan keduanya ataukah tidak membutuhkan pendekatan sama sekali. Tulisan ini dengan menggunakan eksemplar kajian pemikiran Prof. M. Amin Abdullah membedah secara kritis bagaimana Metodologi Studi Islam seharusnya menyajikan kajian-kajian keislaman dan isu-isu keislaman. Penulis menguraikan apakah pendekatan normative, pendekatan historis dan gabungan keduanya beserta implikasinya jika diterapkan dalam kajian-kajian teks-teks keislaman dan isu-isu keislaman. Untuk mempertegas kajian metodologis ini, penulis juga menguraikan sedikit tentang pemikir lain yang serupa dengan Prof. Amin Abdullah, yaitu Prof. Fazlurrahman, dan membedah pemikiran Prof. Amin Abdullah yang diposisikan oleh penulis sebagai seorang Ghazalian dan Kantian. Penulis menggunakan pendekatan deskriptis analitis serta komparatif dalam menyajikan tulisan ini. Sehingga diharapkan dapat ditemukan telaah komprehensif atas dua hal: pemikiran Prof. Amin Abdullah dan pentingnya pendekatan holistik dalam Metodologi Studi Islam.

Abstract

Menurut teori perubahan sosial (al-taghyir al-ijtima’iy) dan peradaban (al-hadlarah wa al-tsaqafah), misalnya seperti dilansir oleh Ibn Khaldun dalam Kitab Muqaddimahnya, dinyatakan bahwa tonggak peradaban yang darinya lahir perubahan sosial itu ditopang oleh unsur luhur kemanusiaan, yaitu: ilmu pengetahuan (budaya baca-tulis), karya peradaban dan upaya bertahan hidup. Semakin tinggi tradisi baca-tulis dimiliki oleh suatu masyarakat, semakin memungkinkannya mereka melakukan perubahan sesuai kemajuan zaman yang dibutuhkan. QS. Al-‘Alaq: 1-5 memberi kita pengertian bahwa pilar peradaban Islam dibentuk oleh tiga gerakan: baca-tulis, spiritual dan amal shaleh. Tiga gerakan tersebut menunjukkan bahwa suatu komunitas perlu memancangkan tiga tradisi gerakan tersebut dalam pikiran dan aktifitasnya untuk menjadi semacam strategi perubahan sosial bila hendak mencapai suatu peradaban seperti dicanangkan al-Qur’an. Tiga tradisi gerakan yang disebutkan dalam QS. Al-‘Alaq: 1-5 di atas menjadi lebih menarik dan penting bila dikaitkan dengan pembacaan ayat-ayat lainnya, misalnya QS. Al-Ra’du: 11 dan Al-Anfal: 53; Al-Rahman: 33; Al-Mujadilah: 11; serta Al-Fatihah dan Al-Muzammil. Tulisan ini, dengan metode pembacaan terhadap ayat-ayat tersebut, dengan menggunakan pendekatan munasabat ayat dan teori perubahan sosial, hendak mengkaji dan mendalami apa dan bagaimana perubahan sosial menurut al-Qur’an; serta apa dan bagaimana strategi perubahan sosial dan tujuan akhir (ghayah) dari konsep perubahan sosial dalam al-Qur’an. Kemudian, aktor perubahan sosial seperti apa dan bagaimana yang dicanangkan Al-Qur’an dalam melakukan perubahan sosial

Abstract

Dalam ilmu tafsir, corak tafsir sufi dan rasional pernah mengalami pertentangan madzhab yang kental. Juga diwarnai oleh perseteruan madzhab fiqh dan teologi dengan bumbu olahan persaingan kekuasaan. Tulisan ini akan mengulas corak tafsir sufi dan rasional dengan mengupas pemikiran dua kitab karya dua mufassir yang mewakili dua corak tafsir tersebut, yaitu Lathaiful Isyarat Karya Al-Syaikh Al-Imam Al-Qusyairi dan Kitab Al-Kasyaf Karya Al-Syaikh AlImam Al-zamakhsyari. Objek kajiannya adalah tafsir QS. 2: 1 dan QS. 56: 75-80. Fokus kajiannya adalah membandingkan corak tafsir keduanya dengan menganalisa pendekatan, metode, teori serta pengaruh madzhab terhadap penafsiran keduanya. Dengan metode perbandingan, tulisan diharapkan dapat mengetahui world view, konsep ontologi, epistemologi, dan metodologi, serta perbedaan model hasil penafsiran dari masing-masing tafsir. Telaah perbandingandalam tulisan ini juga akan mengulas tentang pengaruh madzhab terhadap pendekatan dan produk penafsiran dari kedua kitab tafsir. Secara khusus, tulisan ini menggunakan teori intensionalitas objek dari metode fenomenologi, untukmemotret bagaimana masing-masing kitab tafsir memaknai teks, objek dan konsep penafsirannya.

Abstract

Sufism is a spiritual exercise dimension that is often done irationally in one hand. On the other hand, rationalism is a faculty of mind based totally on rational dimension. So, in fact, it is almost impossible to elaborate both of them in one bowl of life. However, Harun Nasution’s (HN) thought had blended both of them become a couple of wings to envision Indonesian muslim way of thinking and to aggregate his life both spiritually and ascetically.  The root of his thought genealogically can be traced in four steps. Firstly, HN’s literate religious family nurtured his childhood. Secondly, his further adventure dealing with rationalism idea surely affected his progressive thought. His work: The Place of Reason in Abduh’s Theology, Its Impact on His Theological System and Views articulates his strong point on rationalism in Islamic studies. Moreover, it became direct correction to school of Ash’aria theology. Thirdly, sufism aspect of  HN demonstrated himself as a consistent figure who do spiritual exercise (riyadhoh) for himself by enriching zikr and praying. Finally, his rational Islamic thought has influenced the Indonesian Islamic thought constellation within Indonesia muslim scholars until recently. In spite of many critics addressed to him, many appreciations also come to him. To analyze his faculty of thought, this paper aims at exploring datas on him based on historical phenomenological theory. It is to constitute the presence of subject (HN) in his historical life. His intentional consciousness with regards to his Islamic rationalism and sufism is a factor for rational sufism in the line of Indonesia’s Islamic thought constellation.

Abstract

Discussions by researchers of the Qur'an recently have reached a formulation regarding the importance of presenting a methodology that is comprehensive and relevant to current developments, so that the Qur'an can be interpreted in a relevant way to answer the problems of the times. Among the methodological problems raised as criticism of existing exegetical methods is the lack of space for contextualizing the interpretation of the Qur'an in discussing current and developing issues. Previous methods of interpreting the Qur'an mostly explained the meaning of language and reproduced discussions that may have been put forward several hundred years earlier. Against this methodological situation, a method of interpreting the Qur'an is proposed which adds to the previous method which touches more on the meaning of language or issues of jurisprudence, creed, etc., with a new method which includes historical analysis, investigation of the universal value of verses, as well as the universal mission of treatises. and Islamic law. The method proposed is hermeneutics. Since its emergence, hermeneutics has become a controversy between pros and cons. What is often discussed is the ideological and methodological face. This paper attempts to describe the material objects in this research descriptively and analytically. By reviewing the literature, this research describes the problems of presenting hermeneutics as a method of interpreting the Qur’an, as well as criticizing it. The results of the study in this manuscript are that there are several methodological and ideological issues as a critical discussion of the implementation of hermeneutics as a method of interpreting the Qur’an. The aim of this research is to criticize hermeneutics as a method of understanding the Qur’an. With this critical effort, it is hoped that the weaknesses and strengths of this method will be discovered. It is hoped that this criticism of hermeneutics can be an objective answer to the controversy over the presentation of hermeneutics as a method of interpreting the Qur’an.

Abstract

The pronunciation of dhikr in the Qur'an is mentioned 292 times, with various forms of the word derivation (sighat). One form of the word in the form of isim masdar is found in QS. Thaha [20]: 14. This research is a library research with an analysis approach of the Qur'an (interpretation) and philosophy. The method used in this study is the method of philosophical interpretation of Muhammad Fakhr al-Din al-Razi and Karl Buhler's Psycholinguistic Semiotics. The main objective of this study is to determine the relationship between dhikr and tauhid. The researcher describes data about the concept of dhikr in the Qur'an Surah Thaha [20]: 14 perspectives of al-Tafsir Mafatih al-Ghayb and Karl Buhler's Psycholinguistic Semiotics. The results obtained from this study are that dhikr as monotheistic awareness is not enough to be done only with theoretical knowledge. Monotheism that is carried out only with theoretical knowledge will only be informative. Therefore, it is necessary to have an awareness of knowledge and an actual awareness that is affirmative in nature, to achieve true monotheism.

Abstract

Sufism is a spiritual exercise dimension often carried out irrationally. Meanwhile, rationalism is a faculty of mind based on rational dimension, thus, it is almost impossible to elaborate both. Harun Nasution’s thought blended them to be the Indonesian Muslims’ way of thinking and live his life both spiritually and ascetically. His rational Islamic thought influenced the Indonesian thinkers profoundly until today. Analyzing his thought, this paper explores the data about him using Edmunds Husserl’s Phenomenology Theory. The phenomenological historical approach aims at understanding the text about Harun Nasution and his thought from the way the text says about it. In other words, this paper attempts to apprehend his rational sufism based on his works, namely Islam Rasional and Mistisisme dalam Islam. His intentional consciousness with regard to his Islamic rationalism blended with sufism is a factor in accordance with the trend within Indonesia’s intellectuals’ Islamic thought. It particularly influenced his students in the academic and activist world. As a study reflection on his thought and the intellectual influence academically, Islam should be presented as a historical religion that is expected to answer and explore real problems in the society. Islam should be studied with a holistic, multidisciplinary, and interdisciplinary approach.
