Abstract

In today's global trade, Quarantine Agriculture plays a strategic role to protect local agricultural products and foodsafety. As the impact of world trade agreements, where Indonesia as a member of the organization must obey the rulesof world trade, which are non-tariff policies for export and import procedures, including agricultural products. And as aresult, Indonesian agricultural products that are still in the growth and development will experience a difficult situation.Agricultural Quarantine Agency will become the spearhead for export and import procedures to anticipate the tariff-freemarket. However, with the limited government?s resources in providingquarantine services throughout the exit and entrancein all parts of Indonesia, the Indonesian community participation in quarantine become indispensable. Public awarenessprogram be the way to increase public participation in the quarantine issues. This study aimed to evaluate public awarenessprograms that being implemented by using the method of communication audits and seek suitable strategic formula for publicawareness programs in the future. This research used a descriptive method. The respondents came from the internal thathave the scope of work to communicate with the public, and from external that selected by purposive sampling method. Datawere analyzed using descriptive methods, internal analysis, external analysis, IE analysis, SWOT analysis and QSPM. Datarepresent the attitudes and perceptions of people that passing on the exit and entry NKRI?s territory (traveler), which willbe used to develop communication strategies and public awareness programs that appropriate for Agricultural QuarantineAgency in the future.

Abstract

Ekstrak etanol daun kucai (Allium tuberosum) mengandung senyawa alkaloid, flavonoid dan tanin yang diketahui memiliki aktivitas anthelmintik. Masyarakat Indonesia telah lama memanfaatkan kucai untuk pengobatan, diantaranya untuk mengatasi keputihan, sembelit serta infeksi kuman bakteri dalam usus. Selain itu, kucai juga berkhasiat melancarkan aliran darah, sekaligus mencegah pembekuan darah. Hasil skrining pada ekstrak daun kucai menunjukkan bahwa sampel positif mengandung metabolit sekunder yaitu flavonoid, tanin, saponin dan alkaloid. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas pengujian ekstrak etanol daun kucai (Allium tuberosum) terhadap kematian cacing Ascaridia galli dan menentukan pada konsentrasi berapa ekstrak etanol daun kucai (Allium tuberosum) mampu mematikan cacing Ascaridia galli. Pengujian anthelmintik dibagi dalam 5 kelompok perlakuan, setiap kelompok terdiri dari 3 ekor cacing dengan 3 kali replikasi. Konsentrasi ekstrak etanol daun kucai yang digunakan adalah 10%, 20% dan 30%, NaCl 0,9% sebagai kontrol negatif dan pirantel pamoat sebagai kontrol positif. Masing-masing kelompok perlakuan dilakukan dengan metode perendaman pada cacing Ascaridia galli. Waktu pengamatan dan perhitungan kematian cacing dilakukan tiap 1 jam selama 24 jam perlakuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa semakin tinggi konsentrasi ekstrak etanol daun kucai yang digunakan semakin cepat cacing mengalami kematian. Konsentrasi yang paling efektif untuk membunuh cacing Ascaridia galli pada penelitian ini adalah 30% karena sudah mendekati hasil kontrol positif.

Abstract

Indonesia kaya akan keanekaragaman hayati yang dapat dimanfaatkan dalam semua aspek kehidupan manusia. Salah satu tanaman yang menarik untuk diteliti sebagai obat tradisional adalah Kesum. Tanaman Kesum (Polygonum minus) merupakan salah satu tanaman endemik di wilayah Kalimantan Barat. Tanaman kesum (Polygonum minus Huds) mengandung senyawa flavonoid, saponin dan tanin yang diharapkan mampu menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Staphylococcus aureus. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh ekstrak etanol batang kesum (Polygonum minus Huds) terhadap pertumbuhan bakteri Staphylococcus aureus. Metode penelitian ini adalah uji aktivitas antibakteri ekatrak etanol batang kesum (Polygonum minus Huds) menggunakan metode difusi agar sumuran dengan konsentrasi 6%, 10%, 14% dan 18% serta digunakan siprofloxacin sebagai kontrol positif dan DMSO 10% sebagai kontrol negatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ekstrak etanol batang kesum (Polygonum minus Huds) memiliki potensi daya hambat tertinggi pada konsentrasi 18% dengan diameter hambat sebesar 32,56 mm, berbeda nyata dengan kontrol positif dengan diameter hambat sebesar 47,35 mm.

Abstract

Rumput Gajah (Pennisetum purpureum Schumach) dan Rumput Belulang (Eleusine indica (L.) Gaertn) merupakan tanaman dari famili Poaceae. Kedua tanaman tersebut belum banyak diketahui kandungan senyawa metabolit sekundernya. Skrining fitokimia adalah metode kualitatif yang bertujuan untuk menelusuri adanya metabolit sekunder yang terkandung pada tanaman sehingga potensinya sebagai tanaman obat bisa digunakan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis kandungan golongan senyawa metabolit sekunder dari simplisia dan ekstrak etanol 96% herba rumput gajah dan herba rumput belulang dengan menggunakan berbagai pereaksi kimia. Hasil yang diperoleh dari analisis kandungan golongan senyawa metabolit sekunder pada herba rumput gajah dan herba rumput belulang terdapat enam golongan senyawa metabolit sekunder diantaranya alkaloid, fenol, flavonoid, tanin, saponin, serta steroid-terpenoid.

Abstract

Corn silk is generally a waste of sweet corn plants after being harvested and is rarely used, however, on the other hand, corn silk is also used by the community as herbal medicine and is believed to reduce the risk of hypertension and other types of chronic diseases such as kidney infections. Corn silk is thought to contain metabolite compounds such as flavonoids, essential oils, steroids, and alkaloids. Alkaloid compounds can function as drugs and strong activators for immune cells that can destroy bacteria, viruses, fungi, and cancer cells. Flavonoid compounds are compounds that have various bioactive effects such as anti-inflammatory, antiviral, cardioprotective, anti-diabetic, anti-cancer, anti-aging, and antioxidants. it is necessary to measure the levels of alkaloids and flavonoids from corn silk infusion to determine the levels of alkaloid and flavonoid compounds in corn silk infusion. The method used in this study is the Uv-Vis spectrophotometry method. The alkaloid content was calculated using the regression formula y = 0.0895x - 0.3046, the results obtained in the corn hair infusion extract were 46.36 mg / g extract, and the flavonoid content was calculated using the regression formula y = 0.0144 x - 0.025 and the results obtained in the corn hair infusion extract were 85.42 mg / g extract. So it can be concluded that corn hair infusion contains more flavonoid compounds, namely with alkaloid compound levels of 46.36 mg / g extract and flavonoid compounds of 85.42 mg / g extract.

Abstract

Latar belakang: Peperomia obtusifolia (L.) A. Dietr merupakan tanaman dari keluarga Piperaceae. Peperomia obtusifolia (L.) A. Dietr secara empiris dapat digunakan untuk menyembuhkan berbagai jenis penyakit seperti pengobatan asma, sakit maag, nyeri, peradangan dan infeksi bakteri. Tujuan penelitian: Mengetahui daya hambat dari ekstrak ekstrak etanol 70% daun Peperomia obtusifolia (L.) A. Dietr terhadap pertumbuhan bakteri Escherichia coli. Metode penelitian: Pengujian aktivitas antibakteri ekstrak etanol 70% daun Peperomia obtusifolia (L.) A. Dietr dengan metode difusi secara in vitro (Kirby-Bauer) menggunakan kertas cakram dengan konsentrasi 6,25; 12,5; 25; dan 50%. Pengujian dengan metode KLT-Bioautografi menggunakan Bioautografi kontak langsung. Aktivitas antibakteri terhadap ekstrak daun Peperomia obtusifolia dilakukan dengan uji KLT-Bioautografi menggunakan fase gerak metanol : n-heksan (8:2). Hasil: Berdasarkan hasil uji Duncan, konsentrasi terbaik ekstrak etanol 70% daun Peperomia obtusifolia (L.) A. Dietr yang paling efektif dalam menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Escherichia coli yaitu konsentrasi 50% dengan rata-rata zona hambat sebesar 7,08 ± 0,18 mm. Hasil pengujian menggunakan metode KLT-Bioautografi menunjukkan bahwa tidak adanya zona hambat pada bercak noda kromatografi lapis tipis. Simpulan: Konsentrasi terbaik dari semua konsentrasi ekstrak etanol 70% daun Peperomia obtusifolia (L.) A. Dietr terdapat pada konsentrasi 50% dengan rata-rata zona hambat sebesar 7,08 ± 0,18 mm. Pada metode KLT-Bioautografi ekstrak daun Peperomia obtusifolia (L.) A. Dietr, pada profil kromatografi terdapat tiga bercak noda dengan nilai Rf 1: 0,71, Rf 2: 0,65, dan Rf 3: 0,57, dan Bioautografi kontak tidak mampu memberikan zona hambat.

Abstract

Introduction: Situduh langit (Erigeron sumatrensis Retz.) is a plant with medicinal benefits for mouthwash, headaches, muscle pain, canker sores, blood pressure regulation, and acne treatment. It also has antimicrobial activity. Secondary metabolites like saponins and flavonoids in situduh langit can treat diarrhea. Method: This study aims to determine the concentration and TLC-Bioautography profile of ethanol extract from situduh langit leaves for inhibiting Escherichia coli. The leaves were extracted using the maceration method with 70% ethanol. The antibacterial activity of the ethanol extract at concentrations of 6.5%, 12.5%, 25%, and 50% was tested using the disc diffusion method. TLC-Bioautography identified the compounds with antibacterial activity. Results: ANOVA analysis showed normal and homogeneous data with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. The 6.5% concentration had an average inhibition of 6.0±0.00; 12.5% had 6.23±0.24; 25% had 6.77±0.89. These showed the smallest effect on inhibiting Escherichia coli growth. The 50% concentration had an average inhibition of 7.71±1.17, showing the greatest effect. TLC-Bioautography showed Rf values of 0.97; 0.92; 0.67; 0.60; 0.31; 0.21 and 0.14, with no clear zones forming around the media. Conclusion: The leaf extract of situduh langit has antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli at a 50% concentration with a moderate category, and TLC-Bioautography analysis of the ethanol extract did not form clear zones around the media.

Abstract

Bandotan (Ageratum conyzoides (L.) L.), Ketul (Bidens pilosa L.), dan Kirinyuh (Chromolaena odorata (L.)) merupakan tanaman invasif yang mudah ditemui di pekarangan rumah. Akan tetapi, belum dimanfaatkan secara optimal karena tanaman ini dianggap sebagai gulma, walaupun dianggap sebagai gulma tetapi masyarakat menggunakan tanaman ini sebagai bahan pengobatan untuk penyakit sakit kepala, sakit perut, penyembuh luka, diabetes, dan obat kumur. Salah satu senyawa metabolit sekunder yang terkandung didalam tanaman tersebut yaitu flavonoid. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menentukan kadar flavonoid total pada ekstrak daun bandotan, daun ketul, dan daun kirinyuh yang diekstraksi menggunakan metode maserasi dengan pelarut etanol 96%, etil asetat, dan akuades. Penetapan kadar flavonoid total dilakukan dengan menggunakan spektrofotometer UV-Vis. Pengujian analisis kualitatif menunjukkan seluruh sampel mengandung senyawa flavonoid. Hasil penetapan kadar flavonoid total paling rendah diperoleh pada ekstrak etil asetat daun bandotan sebesar 2,678 mg QE/g dan kadar flavonoid total paling tinggi diperoleh pada ekstrak etanol 96% daun kirinyuh sebanyak 78,229 mg QE/g.

Abstract

Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli are two pathogenic bacteria that often cause infections in humans. In efforts to combat various infections caused by pathogenic bacteria, the use of medicinal plants as alternative treatments is gaining increasing attention. One such plant is the Candle Flower (Pachystachys lutea L). This study was conducted to identify the antibacterial activity of Candle Flower leaf extract (Pachystachys lutea L) against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli using the disk diffusion method. The results showed antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus, forming clear zones at concentrations of 6.25%, 12.5%, 25%, and 50%, measuring 6.00, 6.93, 8.06, and 10.81 mm, respectively. Meanwhile, the antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli formed clear zones at concentrations of 6.25%, 12.5%, 25%, and 50%, measuring 8.10, 8.52, 9.72, and 12.35 mm, respectively. The ethanol extract of Candle Flower leaves (Pachystachys lutea L.) can inhibit the growth of Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 1055, with the best concentration being 50%, forming a clear zone diameter of 10.56 mm, and against Escherichia coli, with the best concentration being 50%, forming a clear zone diameter of 12.35 mm. The clear zones formed fall into the criteria of strong inhibition zones.

Abstract

Acne (acne) is a disease on the surface of the skin that is associated with excess production of oil glands (seeds). Acne can occur due to the obstruction of poly-base follicles caused by bacterial infections such as Staphylococcus aureus. Eighty percent of teenagers have experienced acne that's really disturbing their appearance and damaging everyone's self-confidence. Public awareness of the dangers posed by chemicals, in cosmetics, has shifted lifestyle changes along with the current Back to nature or lifestyle back to nature so many people believe in herbal cosmetic. Flavonoids are secondary metabolite compounds that have antibacterial activity against acne- causing Staphylococcus aureus. The initial step to prevent acne is to use facial wash that contains active compounds such as flavonoids. This study aims to find out that the facial wash gel preparation of soka leaf extract has antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. The preparation is made with extract concentrations of 5%, 10%, 15% preparation evaluation includes organoleptic tests, homogeneity tests, pH tests, foam stability testing, viscosity test, stability trials, gel preparation irritation tests, and antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus. The results of the study show that the concentrations are 5%, 10% and 15% respectively of 11.03 mm, 13.60 mm, and 14.22 mm. Formula 3 has a high barrier zone with a concentration of 15% extract with an average barrier area of 14.22mm.Keywords: Leaves of soka, Gel facial wash, Staphylococcus aureus
