Abstract

Outpatients with schizophrenia frequently experience a decline in quality of life due to disease-related symptoms, medication side effects, and limitations in social functioning. Physical activity has the potential to serve as a non-pharmacological intervention that supports patient recovery. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between physical activity and quality of life among outpatient patients with schizophrenia at Sambang Lihum Psychiatric Hospital. This quantitative study employed a cross-sectional design with purposive sampling involving 96 respondents. Physical activity was assessed using the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ), while quality of life was measured using the Indonesian Modification of Subjective Well-Being Under Neuroleptics (IM-SWN). The results showed that the majority of respondents had a high level of physical activity (60.4%) and an adequate quality of life (79.2%). Spearman’s correlation analysis revealed a significant positive relationship between physical activity and quality of life (ρ = 0.582; p = 0.001). These findings indicate that higher levels of physical activity are associated with better quality of life. Therefore, physical activity should be positioned as a potential non-pharmacological intervention that is integrated into outpatient care, rather than merely as a supporting factor, in order to sustainably improve the quality of life of patients with schizophrenia.

Abstract

This study analyzes the paintings of Faiz Zaki Abdillah using a descriptive qualitative approach, with Monroe C. Beardsley's aesthetic theory as its primary foundation. The method employed is analytical description, integrating visual analysis and interpretation of three primary works: Life (2022), Morp Transition (2023), and Amartha (2025). The findings indicate that the creative process behind Faiz Zaki Abdillah's paintings encompasses idea conception, concept development, technique and style, and the stages of creation. An aesthetic analysis based on the principles of unity, complexity, and intensity reveals that Faiz's works represent a synthesis of empirical experience and ecological spirituality, shaped by his closeness to nature, animals, and the agricultural world. Through detailed, meticulous, and symbolic visual structures, the ecological spiritual values in his works are organically realized, creating a contemplative and transcendental aesthetic experience. An examination of the creative background further reveals that the aesthetics of Faiz's works are a comprehensive crystallization of his creative process, where form and meaning, technique and spirituality, merge into a coherent, reflective, and aesthetically rich visual narrative.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strengthening of the culture of smiling, greeting, saluting, politeness, and courtesy (5S) in shaping students’ character education at UPTD SD Negeri 378 Wele, Belawa District, Wajo Regency, by positioning the school as a space for the habituation of living and contextual values, particularly within a rural socio-cultural environment. This study employs a qualitative approach with a case study design, using data collection techniques such as observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving the principal, teachers, and students as the primary data sources. Data analysis is conducted through a descriptive-interpretative method, encompassing data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, strengthened by triangulation techniques. The findings reveal that the strengthening of the 5S culture is not merely understood as a social habit, but has been internalized as a character education practice that shapes students’ religious attitudes, discipline, responsibility, and mutual respect. The uniqueness of the research setting is characterized by the close relationships between teachers and students, as well as the support of the local community’s cultural values surrounding the school, which serve as the main supporting factors for the successful implementation of this habituation. Interpretatively, these findings affirm that school culture based on simple habituation practices such as 5S holds strategic potential as an effective, contextual, and sustainable model of character education. Therefore, this study provides a theoretical contribution to the development of school culture–based character education studies, as well as a practical contribution as an implementative reference for elementary schools with similar characteristics.

Abstract

Teacher Learning Strategy in Supporting Academic Achievement of Students of Mario Takalalla State Kindergarten is a teacher's effort to achieve academic achievement and abilities of early childhood students, especially students of Mario Takalalla State Kindergarten which includes cognitive aspects, affective aspects and psychomotor aspects. This study aims to analyze, review and describe teacher learning planning strategies in supporting early childhood academic achievement. This research method uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques by means of observation, interviews and documentation. The research subjects are school supervisors, principals, class teachers and school committees. The results of the study show: 1) the learning strategy used by class teachers at Mario Takalalla State Kindergarten is a direct learning strategy by considering the characteristics of students by using active and joyful learning methods. This strategy can support students' academic achievement well from early childhood academic achievement indicators, namely cognitive, affective and psychomotor aspects. 2) Supporting factors such as individual teacher abilities, student motivation and the participation of students' parents greatly influence students' achievements from all aspects.

Abstract

The principal’s contribituon in improving teacher performance, especially teachers at Mamminasae State Kindergarten, is one of the principal’s efforts to improve teacher performance in the learning process. This study aims to analyze, review and describe the principal’s controbution. This research method uses a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews and documentation. The subjects of this research are school supervisor, teachers, sv\chool committees and community leaders. The result of the study show: 1) The proncipal’s contribution in improving the performance of teacher at Mamminasae Labessi State Kindergarten , Marioriwawo District, Soppeng Regency was carried out well through coacingand developing teachers’ abilities in the learning process, providing motivation by creating a conducive learning situation, providing opportunities for teachers to continue their education, placing them according to their fields and providing awards and fulfilling the needs for facilities and infrastructure. 2) Supporting factors include role models , supervision, training, motivation, and provision of facilities and infrastucture, while the obstacles include a lack of training funds, teachers lacking discipline/motivation , high administrative burdens, teachers living far away, inadequate school fecilities, and low community participation.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the leadership strategies of school principals in developing semi-pesantren-based school programs at UPTD SDN 360 Anabanua, Maniangpajo District, Wajo Regency. The study uses a qualitative approach with a case study type to gain an in-depth understanding of the processes, meanings, and social dynamics that occur in the implementation of the program. Data collection techniques were carried out through interviews, documentation, and observation. The results of the study show that the principal's leadership strategy in developing the semi-pesantren program was implemented through the stages of planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating in a participatory manner by involving various parties in the school environment. The semi-boarding school program was integrated with the national curriculum through the habit of religious values such as praying together, reading the Qur'an, praying in congregation, morning zikir, and memorizing Juz 30. The implementation of the program was also supported by the exemplary behavior of the principal, the cooperation of teachers, and the involvement of parents and the school committee. However, there are several obstacles in its implementation, such as limited facilities and infrastructure, the quality of human resources, and limited learning time. Overall, the principal's participatory, transformational, and collaborative leadership strategies have been able to support the successful development of the semi-boarding school-based program in shaping the religious character of students.
