Abstract

The results of the Indonesian Demographic and Health Survey (SDKI) in 2010 showed that mothers who breastfeed their babies on the first day after giving birth are 50.2%. This shows that around 49,8% of mothers giving birth do not breastfeed their babies. From this data, as many as 63.6% of mothers gave birth experienced a slowdown in milk production on the first day (Perinasia, 2010). Breast care is very important during pregnancy until breastfeeding. This is because the breast is the only producer of breast milk which is the staple food for newborns, so it must be done as early as posibble. Where the production of breast milk will stimulate the milk glands through massage (Harahap, 2017). Breast care is very important in the third trimester so that complications do not occur when breastfeeding the baby later (Sari and Ernawati, 2016). Based on the result of a preliminary survey conducted with interviews with 20 pregnant women in Suku 3 Tiyuh Makarti, Tumijajar District, Tulang Bawang Barat Regency in 2021, as many as 18 people (80%) could not do breast care properly. This shows that only 2 (20%) pregnant women can perform breast care properly. The purpose of this community service is to provide education to pregnant women to be able to carry out breast care during pregnancy as a preparation for the breastfeeding process and to support the exclusive breastfeeding program. The community service method is carried out through lectures and demonstrations of breast care demonstration tools. The participants of the activity were 20 pregnant women. Abstract

According to WHO (2012), the number of people suffering from malnutrition in the world has reached 104 million children and malnutrition is still the cause of all child deaths throughout the world. South Asia is the region with the largest prevalence of malnutrition in the world, namely 46%. Nutrition in toddlers is influenced by socioeconomic factors and socio-cultural background related to diet and nutrition. Insufficient nutrition in the first five years of life has an irreversible impact on physical, mental and brain growth and development. The causes of malnutrition in children are influenced by many factors and are multidimensional, such as socio-economic factors and socio-cultural background as external factors and the health status of toddlers as internal factors. Kabeta, et al. (2017). As is known, increasing socio-economic status and exclusive breastfeeding for 6 months is associated with a decrease in the prevalence of malnourished children under five. Anuradha, et al. (2014). This activity will be held on May 23 2023 in Bayas Jaya Pesawaran Village. Based on the results, the number of mothers who took part in this activity was 26 mothers who had babies and toddlers. The tools and materials used in this activity are leaflets and media for conducting outreach. Based on observations made, there is increased knowledge and understanding of mothers about the benefits of counseling on the importance of carrying out growth and development checks on toddlers through leaflet media and lecture methods so that mothers are educated on the importance of carrying out growth and development checks on toddlers by continuing to monitor the health of their babies and toddlers at posyandu or at health service locations.

Abstract

Nausea and vomiting is a common complaint made during early pregnancy, but the result of underestimating the feeling of nausea and vomiting felt during pregnancy can objectively impact the fetus being born with LBW. For this reason, to minimize the occurrence of pathological nausea and vomiting, it is necessary to provide antenatal care. Pregnant women are advised to undergo antenatal check-ups 4 times, namely in each trimester, while in the last trimester twice. The benefits of antenatal care are very large because it can identify various risks and complications of pregnancy so that pregnant women can be directed to make referrals to hospitals (Manuaba, 2011). Complementary therapy is a method of dealing with disease that is carried out as a support for conventional medical treatment or as another treatment option outside conventional medical treatment (Rufaida, Lestari and Sari, 2018). Acupressure at pericardium point 6 produces good evaluations in mothers who experience nausea and vomiting in the mild and moderate categories (Maheswara et al., 2020). Based on the results of a preliminary survey conducted by interviews with 20 pregnant women in Tribe 3 Tiyuh Makarti, Tumijajar District, West Tulang Bawang Regency in 2021, as many as 18 people (80%) were unable to do acupressure to reduce nausea and vomiting. This shows that only 2 people (20%) of pregnant women can do acupressure to reduce nausea and vomiting. The aim of this community service is to provide education to pregnant women to be able to perform acupressure during pregnancy to treat nausea and vomiting. The community service method is carried out through lectures and direct demonstrations for pregnant women. The materials used in this community service were counseling materials, leaflets and demonstration tools. Participants in the activity were 20 pregnant women. There were enthusiastic participants when the activity took place. Participants know the benefits and methods of acupressure. Pregnant women should continue to apply acupressure to reduce nausea and vomiting, and families should provide motivation and encouragement to pregnant women to reduce nausea and vomiting.

Abstract

Providing breast milk (ASI) to babies aged 0-1 years has very important meaning, especially regarding meeting the needs for nutrients and other substances that form the body's immunity against disease. Exclusive breastfeeding at the age of 0-6 months is considered very strategic, because at that age the baby's condition is still very unstable and susceptible to various diseases. The coverage of babies < 6 months old receiving exclusive breastfeeding in Lampung Province in 2022 is 75.37%, where this figure has reached the expected target of 70% (Lampung Province Health Profile, 2022). The aim of the research is to analyze the effect of giving soy milk and VCO (Virgin Coconut Oil) on increasing breast milk production for postpartum mothers. This research method is quasi-experimental with a one group pre and post test design approach. The results of the research are that there is a difference in the increase in breast milk production of postpartum mothers who consume soy milk and VCO (virgin coconut oil) at the Archa Medica clinic in South Tangerang City with a Sig value. (2-tailed)/ p= 0.004. Conclusion: VCO and soy milk are proven to increase breast milk production. Suggestions: Providing information and knowledge to postpartum mothers regarding the benefits of soy milk and VCO to utilize natural ingredients available in the community for consumption to facilitate breast milk
