Abstract

Abstract

The use of digital technology in the health sector is increasing, but public health digital literacy is still relatively low. This affects the public's ability to access accurate and reliable medical information. This service activity aims to improve public health digital literacy in using health information systems to find the right medical information. This program is carried out with preparation stages which include socialization to the community as well as the preparation of training materials and tools. The implementation of the activity consisted of a theory session by introducing digital technology and health information systems, followed by a practicum session where participants were trained using health applications and digital medical platforms. The evaluation was conducted by collecting feedback from participants to assess their improvement in knowledge and skills in accessing medical information digitally. The results of the evaluation showed that the majority of participants felt more confident in using technology to obtain accurate medical information after participating in this training.

Abstract

Purpose: This paper reviewed the impact of anemia on adolescents and pregnant women on their babies. will the incidence of anemia affect the quality of the baby born? Content: Based on data from Riskesdas (2018), the prevalence of anemia, especially in pregnant women, increased from 37.1% (2013) to 48.9% in 2018. Meanwhile, the regulation in dealing with this problem was made in 2014, namely Permenkes No. 88/2014 on giving tablets add blood to women of childbearing age and pregnant women. Based on data from the Ministry of Health (2020), anemia in pregnant women can result in the risk of giving birth to low birth weight (LBW) babies, stunting, complications during childbirth, suffering from non-communicable diseases such as diabetes and heart disease later in life. In addition, Sukmawati (2019) also revealed that mothers who give birth more than three times are at risk of experiencing bleeding complications which can be affected by anemia during pregnancy and the risk of recurrent bleeding in subsequent pregnancies due to decreased hemoglobin levels. Socio-economic factors are an important factor in the incidence of anemia in the community. Those with low socioeconomic status tend to ignore the impact of anemia on their future generations (Siahaan, 2012). Apart from socio-economic factors, education and the level of awareness of adolescent girls and pregnant women in several regions of Indonesia regarding the impact of anemia and the importance of preventing anemia to reduce the prevalence of stunting in children under five are still lacking so that the government is still difficult to achieve the success of a program (Martini, 2015). Conclusion: The key to preventing anemia in adolescents is government involvement and cross-sector cooperation as well as community capacity to implement it.

Abstract

Padang City is one of West Sumatra Province's Level II Regions. Padang is geographically vulnerable to natural disasters, particularly earthquakes and tsunamis. Natural disasters affect men and women differently. Women are four times more likely than men to become victims of natural disasters. Women, on the other hand, have become advocates for the existence of various government disaster relief efforts. The Regional Government of Padang City actively maximized the position of women as one of the agents who became a support and fixed the post-natural disaster situation, according to a descriptive qualitative method and the theory of social feminism. The purpose of this study is to determine the position of women actively as one of the agents who support and improve the situation after natural disasters. Using a descriptive qualitative method with the theory of social feminism, it was found that the Padang City Regional Government has maximized the position of women actively as one of the agents who support and improve the situation after natural disasters. The efforts of the local government are aided by West Sumatra's adoption of local matrilineal values, which place women as the primary party in the concept of kinship life. Women's resilience in disaster mitigation conditions can be increased by actively involving them.

Abstract

Background : Cancer remains a leading cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide, including in Indonesia. Conventional therapies such as chemotherapy and radiotherapy often cause severe side effects that reduce quality of life. Nutritional strategies, particularly fasting and its variations— intermittent fasting, time-restricted eating, and fasting-mimicking diets—have gained attention as potential complementary approaches. Objective : This narrative review summarizes current evidence on fasting in cancer care, focusing on clinical outcomes, underlying biochemical mechanisms, and public health relevance in the Indonesian context. Research Methods/ Implementation Methods : Literature from 2020–2025 was reviewed using PubMed and Scopus. Included articles comprised systematic reviews, clinical trials, and pilot studies on fasting in cancer patients. Results : Intermittent fasting may improve metabolic parameters such as insulin sensitivity, blood glucose, and body weight, with possible benefits for fatigue and quality of life. Time-restricted eating is feasible and acceptable, though its impact on treatment outcomes remains unclear. Fasting- mimicking diets show promise in preclinical studies, but human trials are scarce. Cultural practices such as Ramadan fasting provide a natural model of daily fasting; however, its role in oncology has not been systematically evaluated. Conclusion/Lesson Learned : Fasting appears promising as a supportive intervention in cancer care, but evidence is still preliminary. Integration into public health strategies, including exploration of Ramadan fasting in Indonesia, requires further study through large-scale, culturally adapted trials.
