Abstract

Lada menjadi komoditi andalan dikenal juga dengan the king of spices. Perkembangan industri lada cenderung mengalami fluktuasi dari tahun ke tahun. Pada tahun 2018 jumlah produksi sebesar 87.841 ton, tahun 2019 mengalami peningkatan dengan jumlah produksi sebesar 91.000 ton. Sementara itu dari tahun 2020 sampai 2022 cenderung menurun dengan jumlah produksi sebesar 82.167 ton. Produktivitas petani lada di kabupaten Kepahiang, Bengkulu mengalami penurunan sebesar -0,90 kg/ha. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan metode Kansei Engineering. Kansei adalah metode yang berfungsi memodifikasi sesuai dengan konteks, sebagai variabel independen yang mempengaruhi respon emosional terhadap produk yang digunakan. Penelitian ini menghasilkan variabel kapasitas besar, ringan, desain ringkas, terdapat pemetik dan kuat untuk dijadikan desain. Alat pemetik buah lada yang dibuat dengan software 3D Solidwork dinyatakan telah memenuhi keinginan petani, karena nilai uji homogenitas >0,05.

Abstract

The high use of for gas and petroleum fuels in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan, encouraging accelerated development of oil and gas infrastructure including transmission pipeline systems, drilling wells and offshore oil and gas platforms. Gas pipes experience problems such as leaks, blockages and corrosion, so they require maintenance and accurate installation. The Job Safety Analysis (JSA) method is used to identify and reduce potential hazards and risks during work implementation. Implementing JSA not only ensures compliance with occupational safety and health regulations, but also creates a safer work environment and reduces the potential for accidents. This research aims to determine the level of risk in each job by obtaining consequence and probability values. Risk evaluation in threading work can be summarized into three categories, low risk covers 46.66% of the calculation results, while medium risk reaches 53.33%, and high risk reaches 13.33%.

Abstract

Working at heights poses serious risks, including accidents and fatal injuries.Workers may also experience psychological stress and the physical and mental health impacts due to environmental conditions or psychological pressure. Restricted movement, difficulties in evacuation, and the use of safety equipment are also issues that require the implementation of effective safety measures and adequate training. This research aims to identify hazards through Job Safety Analysis (JSA) using descriptive analytical methods and field observations. The collected data is used as a basis to formulate control measures to prevent accidents or minimize risks. The results of the analysis of those activities serve as safety guidelines/procedures for all work activities.

Abstract

PT. XYZ is a company engaged in the field of fabrication, particularly in cutting. At PT. XYZ, there is currently no specific program to reduce workplace accidents. The cutting division at PT. XYZ frequently experiences workplace accidents. Therefore, the aim of this research is to reduce the potential for workplace accidents by using Job Safety Analysis. The data collection techniques employed are observation, interviews, and documentation. Data processing and analysis use the principles of Job Safety Analysis and Fishbone tools. Based on the research results, it was found that there are five hazard categories: extreme, high, moderate, and low. There is one hazard at the extreme level: being struck by chips from the cutting activity. The high level consists of one hazard: being struck by cutting blade fragments. The moderate level has one hazard: material not matching capacity. The low level includes three hazards: slipping, being struck by falling material, and being hit by sparks. The proposed prevention measure is elimination, where the source of workplace hazards in the cutting process is completely removed. The second step, substitution, involves replacing tools or materials with ones that meet the standards in the cutting process. The third step, engineering controls, includes installing warning signs. The fourth step, administrative controls, involves preparing safety meetings before starting work and close supervision. The fifth step is using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Abstract

The petroleum industry in Indonesia has a high risk of work accidents, such as loading and unloading activities. PT X is a company that focuses on the oil and gas industry. This study aims to evaluate work safety in loading and unloading oil containers at PT X using the Job Safety Analysis (JSA) method. This activity has a high risk that can result in work accidents, such as falling and being pinched. The JSA method is used to identify the hazards associated with each work step and provide a risk assessment. The results showed that five potentials hazard could be identified with categorized high risk, and one potential hazard with very high risk. Most of these risks are caused by human error. Recommended control measures include the use of complete Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). With the implementation of appropriate mitigation measures, it is expected that work safety can be improved, thereby reducing the likelihood of incidents that endanger workers.

Abstract

The oil and gas industry carries high operational risks, particularly in metering system calibration activities. This research uses the Job Safety Analysis (JSA) method to find and examine possible risks in PT. X's metering system calibration procedure. Direct observation, conversations with engineers and HSE teams, and an examination of pertinent papers were used to gather data. Risk analysis was performed using a semi-quantitative approach by assessing the likelihood and severity levels for each identified potential hazard. The research identified 12 potential risks distributed across three categories: low risk (25%), medium risk (66.67%), and high risk (8.33%). The highest risk was found in the power transmitter isolation phase with electrocution hazard. Based on these findings, risk control recommendations are formulated which include training and certification, procedures, engineering controls and proper use of PPE. The implementation of comprehensive and systematic risk control is key to ensuring work safety and the extinction of company operations.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan daya saing produk UMKM Pipit Organik melalui perancangan ulang kemasan produk. UMKM ini memproduksi bawang goreng kemasan yang menghadapi masalah pada desain kemasan yang kurang menarik dan tidak efektif dalam menarik perhatian konsumen. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan pada 3 Agustus 2024 di Program Studi Teknik Industri Universitas Balikpapan, dengan peserta terdiri dari pemilik dan staf pemasaran UMKM. Kegiatan dimulai dengan observasi dan wawancara untuk mengidentifikasi masalah yang dihadapi mitra, dilanjutkan dengan penyampaian materi tentang pentingnya kemasan dalam bisnis dan prinsip desain kemasan yang menarik. Sesi selanjutnya adalah praktik merancang kemasan produk menggunakan perangkat lunak Canva. Evaluasi dilakukan dengan dua pendekatan, yaitu evaluasi pemahaman melalui kuis dan evaluasi dampak dengan membandingkan minat beli konsumen terhadap kemasan lama dan baru. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman mitra mengenai desain kemasan dan kemampuan mereka dalam merancang kemasan yang lebih menarik. Selain itu, perancangan ulang kemasan berhasil meningkatkan minat beli konsumen dari 23,3% dengan kemasan lama menjadi 66,7% dengan kemasan baru. Kegiatan ini terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan daya saing produk UMKM Pipit Organik melalui desain kemasan yang lebih menarik dan profesional.

Abstract

Industri pertambangan memiliki risiko kecelakaan tinggi yang memerlukan penerapan Kesehatan dan Keselamatan Kerja (K3) yang optimal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi potensi bahaya dan mengevaluasi efektivitas metode pengendalian risiko pada kegiatan coal getting di Pit 3.2. Metode yang digunakan adalah Job Safety Analysis (JSA) yang terbukti mampu mengidentifikasi potensi bahaya dan membantu dalam perancangan tindakan pencegahan. Penelitian ini melibatkan observasi lapangan, wawancara dengan manajer HSE, serta analisis dokumen terkait. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan beberapa risiko yang dihadapi seperti kecelakaan akibat alat berat dan longsoran material. Tindakan pengendalian yang diusulkan meliputi penggunaan Alat Pelindung Diri (APD), pemantauan rutin, dan penerapan prosedur keselamatan ketat. Penerapan JSA berdampak signifikan terbukti mampu meningkatkan kesadaran pekerja dan mengurangi frekuensi kecelakaan di lapangan. Kesimpulannya penerapan JSA dalam aktivitas coal getting memberikan dampak positif terhadap pengelolaan keselamatan kerja. Implikasi penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa metode JSA dapat diadopsi secara lebih luas di industri pertambangan untuk meningkatkan standar keselamatan dan mengurangi potensi kecelakaan.

Abstract

Tombang Tujuah Loge ASGM Cooperative operates in the field of Artisanal small-scale gold mining (ASGM) and produces fine gold. The Exploitation and Fine Gold Refinery Process involves direct interaction of workers with equipment and the environment in a production situation that has quite a high safety risk. The research aims to identify the type or source of danger, determine the high-risk value, and take appropriate risk control measures. The method used is Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) to identify failures in facilities, systems, or equipment that have an impact on work accidents. The research results show that the highest risk is the danger of landslides at mining sites (RPN: 120) and exposure to dangerous chemicals in Fine Gold Refinery Process activities (RPN: 112). The results of data processing using Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) provide recommendations, namely (1) Landslide Early Detection System; (2) Incinerator; and (3) Use of Personal Protective Equipment.

Abstract

Kalimantan Timur merupakan Provinsi dengan Pendapatan Domestik Bruto Regional tertinggi kedua di Indonesia setelah Jakarta. Besarnya PDRB Kalimantan Timur ternyata tidak sesuai dengan Tingkat Pengangguran Terbukanya. Hal ini tentu mengundang pertanyaan, mengapa Provinsi dengan PDRB tertinggi ke-2 justru Tingkat Partisipasi Angkatan Kerjanya terburuk ke-7. Penelitian ini mencobamenjawab dari tataran analisis klaster. Proses pengelompokanya dapat memberi sudut pandang awal tentang karakteristik Tingkat Pengangguran Terbuka di Kalimantan Timur. Hasil penelitian menunjukan terdapat dua klaster Tingkat pengangguran dengan karakteristik cukup berbeda. Klaster 1 memiliki tingkat pengangguran terbuka yang cukup tinggi, dengan partisipasi kerja dibawah klaster 2. Menariknya, walaupun TPT dan TPAK klaster 1 kalah dengan klaster 2, nilai PDRB, IPM dan PMDN mereka jauh melampui klaster 2. Temuan ini cukup menarik, sebab tinggi rendahnya PDRB tidak sejalan dengan Tingkat Pengangguran, bertolak belakang dengan Teori Okun.
