Abstract

The BPD Office of Gunung Intan Village, Penajam Paser Utara Regency faces issues related to cleanliness, disorder, and inefficient workspace management, which hinder staff productivity and the quality of public service. The implementation of the 5S method (Seiri, Seiton, Seiso, Seiketsu, and Shitsuke) aims to create a more organized, clean, and productive work environment. This community service was conducted through four stages: field observation, socialization, the application of the 5S method, and the evaluation of the implementation results. The results show significant improvements in workspace organization, cleanliness, and document management after the 5S implementation. BPD staff have become more aware of the importance of maintaining a well-organized work environment, which positively impacts work culture and public service quality. The application of 5S not only improves internal efficiency at the BPD office but also creates a more comfortable and professional working environment for the people of Gunung Intan Village. Kantor BPD Desa Gunung Intan Kabupaten Penajam Paser Utara menghadapi permasalahan terkait kebersihan, ketidakteraturan, dan pengelolaan ruang kerja yang tidak efisien, yang menghambat produktivitas staf dan kualitas pelayanan kepada masyarakat. Penerapan metode 5S (Seiri, Seiton, Seiso, Seiketsu, dan Shitsuke) bertujuan untuk menciptakan lingkungan kerja yang lebih tertata, bersih, dan produktif. Pengabdian ini dilakukan melalui empat tahap, yaitu observasi lapangan, sosialisasi, penerapan metode 5S, dan evaluasi hasil penerapan. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa setelah penerapan 5S, terdapat perbaikan signifikan dalam hal keteraturan ruang kerja, kebersihan, dan pengelolaan dokumen. Pegawai BPD semakin sadar akan pentingnya menjaga lingkungan kerja yang tertata, yang berdampak positif pada budaya kerja dan kualitas pelayanan publik. Penerapan 5S tidak hanya meningkatkan efisiensi internal kantor BPD, tetapi juga menciptakan lingkungan kerja yang lebih nyaman dan profesional bagi masyarakat Desa Gunung Intan.

Abstract

The fate of women workers during the pandemic is quite worrying. The role of women's triple burden in these times is getting heavier. Mental workload is a multidimensional construct that demands attention, performance, and skills of workers according to their work environment. This study aims to find out the mental burden felt by female workers during the pandemic. The subjects of this study were female educators at the University of Balikpapan. Five subjects feel a Very high mental burden on work activities during a pandemic, namely subjects 06, 14, 19, 23, and 25. There are 18 subjects who feel a high mental burden including subjects 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 10, 12, 13, 16, 17, 18, 20, 21, 26, 28, 29, 30, and 31. Then, 3 subjects felt a moderate mental load, and 2 subjects felt a low mental load. If average, then the mental workload of female educators at the University of Balikpapan is 56.623 categorized as high. This study also seeks to investigate the correlation between the perceived workload of the subjects and several factors including age, marital status, education level, address, family size, income, COVID-19 survivor status, and family members who are COVID-19 survivors. The result showed that the number of family members is the only significant factor that influences the mental workload.

Abstract

Hiku Tech 3D Pultrusion Machine is a PET filament making machine from PET plastic bottle waste designed by Industrial Engineering students of University of Balikpapan. The machine still needs adjustment in handling the size of PET plastic bottle pieces with different widths. The width of the cut can affect the quality of PET filament and the time of making PET filament, if the cut is too wide or narrow. This study aims to determine the ideal cut width of plastic bottles in PET filament making by looking at the quality of PET filament results and the effect of plastic bottle cut width on PET filament making time. This research uses the method of checking the quality of filament results and the simple linear regression method. The scoring results of the 8mm cut width produced a score of 2 for 23 samples, the 9mm cut width produced a score of 4 for 18 samples, and the 10mm cut width produced a score of 2 for 20 samples. The results of linear regression analysis state that the width of 8mm and 10mm pieces has no positive and significant effect on the time of making PET filaments, while the width of 9mm pieces has a positive and significant effect on the time of making PET filaments. Thus, in the manufacture of PET filaments with cut widths of 8mm, 9mm, and 10mm plastic bottles, it was found that the ideal cut width in the manufacture of PET filaments is a cut width of 9mm.

Abstract

Logistics companies are very important in managing materials for smooth operations. In this company, which specializes in logistics through ocean shipping, faces risks when carrying out tasks such as lifting logistics goods in containers, moving oil, coal, and machine tools. To minimize the possibility of accidents, is necessary to identify, analyze, and manage potential hazards using the HIRARC method. Risk assessment shows variations in risk levels for different activities and control efforts. Hazard control is carried out through measures such as being exposed to embers that cause blisters, which can be prevented by controlling them using complete personal protective equipment, falling from stairs can be prevented by routine inspection of the condition of the stairs, triggering fires in the combustion chamber can be prevented by providing training to oil pump operators, bumping heads can be prevented by wearing safety helmets, and Being crushed by goods can be prevented by neat arrangement of goods.

Abstract

Perusahaan yang beroperasi dalam industri minyak dan gas di Balikpapan terlibat dalam proyek instalasi Annulus Operating Access, mencakup pekerjaan seperti pengangkutan manual, pemasangan scaffolding, dan pembongkaran perancah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis risiko kecelakaan kerja dalam pemasangan scaffolding di PT. XYZ, yang beroperasi dalam bidang sektor minyak dan gas. Mengingat tingginya potensi bahaya dalam proyek ini, metode analisis yang digunakan meliputi analisis keselamatan kerja, Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA), serta diagram sebab-akibat. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aktivitas pre-job housekeeping memiliki nilai Risk Priority Number (RPN) maksimal, yaitu 240, hal ini menandakan adanya risiko signifikan yang perlu segera ditangani. Rekomendasi perbaikan yaitu perlu peningkatan pelatihan keselamatan untuk memastikan pekerja memahami prosedur dan risiko, menggunakan APD, serta pengawasan kerja yang ketat. Dengan langkah-langkah ini, diharapkan risiko kecelakaan dapat di minimalisir dan keselamatan pekerja meningkat, sehingga proyek dapat berjalan lancar. Kata Kunci:  Failure Mode and Effect Analysis, Fishbone diagram, Job Safety Analysis , Risiko keselamatan kerja, Scaffolding.

Abstract

The increasingly fierce market competition, especially in the batik industry, requires MSMEs to have a strong differentiation strategy and product branding. The goal is to maintain and improve the competitiveness of the product in the market. Unfortunately, Zahro Batik MSMEs still face obstacles, where digital promotion efforts still tend to be simple, use social media captions that are less informative, have minimal appeal, and are not optimal in reaching potential consumers. This condition is caused by the limitation of copywriting skills which are the key to digital marketing. The purpose of this service activity is to improve the understanding and skills of business actors in optimizing marketing communication strategies through the preparation of effective and attractive promotional messages. The method used is socialization and copywriting training. This activity was attended by 15 participants who are employees of Batik Zahro MSMEs and local residents as an expansion of partners. Evaluation was carried out through individual assignments in the form of writing product promotional captions, which were assessed based on the suitability of the content, language appeal, and creativity of the message. The results achieved showed an increase in participants' soft skills and understanding, where all participants were able to compile promotional captions in a structured manner using the copywriting techniques that had been taught. This increase is expected to strengthen the brand image and product attractiveness, as well as encourage the readiness of Zahro Batik MSMEs to compete and develop in the creative industry.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengidentifikasi dan mengevaluasi risiko pada aktivitas pengelasan pipa baja di PT. XYZ, yang termasuk pekerjaan dengan tingkat bahaya tinggi. Risiko yang muncul meliputi paparan panas, radiasi, tekanan berlebih, bahan kimia, serta potensi jatuhnya material selama proses kerja. Metode Job Safety Analysis (JSA) digunakan untuk menelusuri bahaya di setiap tahapan pekerjaan, sementara HIRARC digunakan untuk menilai tingkat risiko berdasarkan kemungkinan dan tingkat keparahan. Hasil analisis menunjukkan adanya 14 risiko rendah, 31 risiko sedang, dan 11 risiko tinggi, terutama terkait debu silika, bahan kimia, percikan api, radiasi, dan pengoperasian alat berat. Pengendalian risiko direkomendasikan melalui penggunaan APD lengkap, rekayasa teknis seperti ventilasi dan penutupan area, serta pengawasan sesuai prosedur keselamatan. Penerapan JSA dan HIRARC terbukti membantu merumuskan strategi mitigasi secara efektif.Kata Kunci:  Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Risk Control (HIRARC), Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Keselamatan Pengelasan, Bahaya Pekerjaan, Keselamatan Kerja.

Abstract

Overhead Crane adalah alat penting di industri manufaktur dan konstruksi yang memiliki struktur seperti jembatan dengan roda di kedua ujungnya, berfungsi untuk memindahkan beban berat secara efisien dan aman di sepanjang lintasan rel. PT X bergerak di bidang konstruksi dan infrastruktur. Kegiatan operasional yang sering dilakukan adalah proses pemindahan material berat, baik untuk pembangunan struktur baja maupun fasilitas industri. Penelitian dilakukan untuk menganalisa bahaya sebelum memulai pekerjaan dan menurunkan Risiko terjadinya kecelakaan kerja saat melakukan operasi Overhead Crane. Penelitian di PT X dengan menerapkan metode Job Safety Analysis (JSA) dan Hazard Identification, Risk Assesment and Risk Control (HIRARC), dengan dilakukan penyebaran kuisioner dan wawancara bersama kepala HSSE (Health, Safety, Security, and Environment). Penilaian resiko dimulai pada tingkat kemungkinan terjadinya kecelakaan kerja (likelihood) dan tingkat keparahan (severity). Penerapan JSA dan HIRARC memberikan gambaran terukur mengenai potensi bahaya dan langkah pengendalian yang efektif, sehingga dapat meningkatkan keselamatan kerja, mengurangi potensi kecelakaan, serta mendukung kelancaran proses pengangkutan material.Kata Kunci:  Overhead Crane, JSA, HIRARC, Kecelakaan Kerja.

Abstract
