Abstract

Cultural literacy plays a crucial role in education, not only as an effort to protect and promote local and national cultural heritage, but also as a way to shape the identity of the Indonesian nation in society. This aims to ensure that love and preservation of cultural riches is maintained. MIS Istiqomah Entikong is located on the border between Indonesia and Malaysia. The aim of implementing the Go Buya Learning evaluation for students is to improve the quality of learning and develop insight into cultural literacy, and to see the implementation of Go Buya learning through learning media using educational and interactive games in accordance with student development whose results can be measured well. The strategy used in this research service activity is the Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach. The steps taken in this service activity are (1) conducting interviews with teachers and students at MIS Istiqomah Entikong regarding Go Buya Learning (2) Preparing materials and evaluation instruments in Go Buya learning (3) Making evaluation instruments for Go Buya learning and ( 4) Implementation of assistance for activities carried out from the observation stage, implementation process and overall evaluation of Go Buya learning.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tren publikasi ilmiah tentang Pendidikan Berbasis Permainan di sekolah dasar dengan perspektif penghormatan terhadap keragaman budaya melalui pendekatan bibliometrik. Metode tinjauan literatur menggunakan analisis bibliometrik berdasarkan basis data Scopus dan Google Scholar dalam rentang waktu (2013/2023). Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan VOSviewer untuk memvisualisasikan tren publikasi, kata kunci dominan, jaringan kolaborasi penulis, dan distribusi sitass. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa publikasi terkait Pendidikan Berbasis Permainan di sekolah dasar mengalami peningkatan signifikan pada tema literasi budaya, pendidikan multikultural, dan pembelajaran berbasis teknologi. Kata kunci yang paling dominan meliputi pembelajaran berbasis game, keragaman budaya, dan pendidikan dasar. Studi ini menyimpulkan bahwa Pendidikan Berbasis Game memiliki potensi sebagai strategi inovatif dalam meningkatkan kesadaran multikultural di sekolah dasar serta memperkuat literasi budaya peserta didik.

Abstract

Higher education institutions in culturally diverse societies have a vital role in fostering citizenship that is inclusive, democratic, and responsive to cultural differences. In Southeast Asia, especially in postcolonial settings such as Indonesia and Malaysia, civic education is commonly framed as a means of reinforcing national identity. However, this approach often fails to adequately recognize the varied cultural backgrounds and lived experiences of students. This study explores the ways cultural literacy is incorporated into civic education within higher education and examines its influence on the formation of students civic identities in multicultural learning settings. Adopting a qualitative case study approach, the research was carried out at two public universities, one located in Indonesia and the other in Malaysia, chosen for their culturally diverse student populations and involvement in civic oriented programs. Data collection involved document analysis, semi structured interviews with 24 lecturers, curriculum developers, and students, along with classroom observations conducted over a three month period. Thematic analysis identified an ongoing gap between civic education objectives at the policy level and everyday classroom practices, particularly in negotiating national narratives alongside cultural diversity. The findings reveal tensions between state centered civic models and culturally responsive teaching approaches, while also highlighting effective practices such as community based learning, student led discussions, and the inclusion of local wisdom. This study contends that cultural literacy, supported by strategic empathy and critical reflection, is central to promoting meaningful civic participation and inclusive forms of citizenship. By emphasizing students lived cultural experiences, this research contributes to broader discussions on transformative civic education and provides practical insights for advancing culturally grounded and socially just civic learning in higher education contexts across the Global South.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan untuk menjawab tantangan yang dihadapi oleh UMKM Danisa Keripik dalam pengembangan inovasi produk, pengemasan, dan pemasaran. Tujuan utama kegiatan ini adalah meningkatkan kapasitas kewirausahaan kreatif pelaku UMKM berbasis potensi lokal melalui pelatihan dan pendampingan yang terstruktur. Metode pelaksanaan menggunakan pendekatan partisipatif yang melibatkan pelaku usaha, masyarakat, dan tim akademisi, dengan tahapan kegiatan meliputi identifikasi kebutuhan, pelatihan interaktif, serta pendampingan pascapelatihan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pada aspek keterampilan inovasi produk, desain kemasan, dan kemampuan pemasaran digital. Peserta mampu mengembangkan variasi rasa baru, memperbaiki tampilan produk, serta memperluas jaringan pemasaran melalui media sosial. Selain itu, terjadi peningkatan produktivitas dan penjualan hingga 40% dibandingkan sebelum pelatihan. Kegiatan ini juga berdampak positif terhadap tumbuhnya kemandirian dan kepercayaan diri pelaku usaha dalam mengelola bisnis secara berkelanjutan. Secara keseluruhan, pelatihan kewirausahaan kreatif berbasis produk lokal ini terbukti efektif dalam memperkuat kapasitas ekonomi masyarakat dan dapat dijadikan model pemberdayaan berkelanjutan bagi UMKM di wilayah lain.

Abstract

This study aims to integrate local cultural values into digital learning media for elementary school students in border areas, to enhance artistic and civic literacy. The development used the Design and Development Research (DDR) approach with the ADDIE model: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The study was conducted in Entikong District, West Kalimantan, involving fourth-grade teachers and students from four elementary schools. Data were collected through observations, interviews, questionnaires, validation sheets, and Focus Group Discussions (FGD). The result shows that the integration of local culture into the “Go Buya” digital learning media effectively enhances students’ understanding of local traditions, cultural diversity, and civic values. The media demonstrated high feasibility in terms of content, design, and user engagement. Learning outcomes increased significantly after using the media, as indicated by improved post-test results and positive responses from students and teachers. The findings suggest that incorporating local culture into digital learning media can foster meaningful learning experiences, particularly for border-area students who face limited access to culturally relevant educational materials.

Abstract

Abstract

This study investigates the effectiveness of the Go Buya digital learning platform in enhancing cultural literacy and civic knowledge among fourth-grade students at MIS Istiqomah Entikong, a school located in the Indonesia–Malaysia border region. A quantitative experimental design with a pre–post methodology was employed, involving 27 student participants. Cultural and civic competencies were assessed using standardized evaluation instruments and analyzed through normality testing, homogeneity testing, paired-sample t-tests, and Wilcoxon signed-rank tests. The findings reveal a steady improvement in student performance, indicated by an increase in mean scores from 61.19 (pretest) to 82.33 (final posttest). While levels of statistical significance varied, all phases demonstrated positive learning gains. The results suggest that integrating interactive, game-based platforms such as Go Buya can strengthen cultural identity, foster community engagement, and support citizenship education, particularly in multicultural learning environments situated in border areas.

Abstract

The study aimed to determine the improvement of learning outcomes and creative thinking through project-based learning modules in fourth graders. The research method used was a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The research subjects were fourth-grade students from an Islamic elementary school in Lubuklinggau city with a population of as many as two classes with a random sampling technique and obtained class IVA. The research instrument used was an objective test consisting of 10 essay questions with material on cultural diversity, local wisdom, history, and culture, and rubrics to assess students' creative thinking skills, including fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration. Based on the hypothesis testing on the cognitive aspect of learning outcomes using the t-test, it shows a significant impact on students' learning outcomes in classes that use project-based learning models in IPAS learning with an increase in the difference score of 24.77. Creative thinking skills, assessed based on the rubric for assessing students' creative thinking skills, showed that there was a significant development of student's creative thinking skills in classes that used a significant project-based learning model with an increase in the difference score of 17.32, at the basic stages of development that occurred in the preparation, implementation, and presentation of results from not creative (level 1) to creative (level 2). The implications of this study extend to future research to support the improvement of students' learning outcomes and creative thinking skills.
