Abstract

The objectives of present study were to determine the distribution of sediment associated with shoreline changes and to analyze the beach dynamics in Rening Beach. Sediment samples were taken from seventeen sampling points spread along the beach, and then followed by the lab test using granulometri method to determine the characteristics of sediment. Shoreline change was analyzed using analysis of satellite imagery in 2011, 2014 and 2016, while the sediment transport were analyzed using Hjulstrom graph. Then, Rening Beach dynamics can be analyzed. Sediment test results showed that sediment type in Rening Beach was dominated by sand with diameter of between 0.25-5 mm. The ocean currents movement was dominantly to the west. The results of shoreline change analysis between the years 2011-2016, and Hjulstrom graph analysis showed the same pattern that Rening Beach was eroded. The Rening Beach was high dynamics with subjected to beach erosion in the form of littoral drift due to longshore currents.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perubahan garis pantai, transpor sedimen dan dinamika pantai di Pantai Rening. Pengambilan data arus dan sampel sedimen diambil dari tujuh belas titik pengambilan sampel yang tersebar merata di sepanjang perairan Pantai Rening. Sampel sedimen kemudian diujikan di laboratorium menggunakan metode granulometri untuk mengetahui karakteristik sedimen. Perubahan garis pantai dianalisa menggunakan analisis peta citra satelit tahun 2011, 2014 dan 2016, sedangkan pola transpor sedimen dianalisa menggunakan grafik Hjulstrom. Dari hasil analisa perubahan garis pantai dan transpor sedimen, dapat dianalisa dinamika Pantai Rening. Hasil uji sedimen menunjukkan bahwa jenis sedimen didominasi oleh pasir sedang dengan diameter antara 0.25-5 mm. Pergerakan arus dominan mengarah ke arah barat. Hasil analisis perubahan garis pantai antara tahun 2011-2016, dan analisa grafik Hjulstrom menunjukkan pola yang sama bahwa pada Pantai Rening mengalami erosi dan mundurnya garis pantai. Dinamika Pantai Rening cukup tinggi dengan kecenderungan terjadi erosi pantai berupa littoral drift akibat arus sejajar pantai.

Abstract

Gastropods are one of the macrobenthos associated with seagrass ecosystems. The purpose of this research is to determine the structure of the gastropod community in the seagrass ecosystem in the Bama waters of Baluran National Park. Collecting data on gastropods in seagrass ecosystems uses quadrat transects. The research was conducted in February 2024. Based on the research results, it was found that the richness of gastropod species in the seagrass ecosystem in the waters of Baluran National Park was in the low category at each station. The gastropod species diversity index value in this study was in the low category. The evenness index has a stable category, while the dominance index in this study does not have species dominance in gastropods. Seagrass density in this study was in the rare and dense categories.

Abstract

Upaya penanaman mangrove menjadi sangat penting bagi kelestarian ekosistem pesisir. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat tentang pentingnya mangrove dan melibatkan mereka dalam upaya pelestarian lingkungan. Melalui penanaman mangrove, diharapkan masyarakat dapat memahami peran penting mangrove dalam menjaga keseimbangan ekosistem pesisir dan meningkatkan kualitas hidup. Kegiatan penanaman mangrove dapat memberikan dampak positif bagi lingkungan dan masyarakat sekitar serta menjadi langkah awal dalam upaya pelestarian ekosistem mangrove. Penanaman mangrove efektif untuk menstabilkan pesisir dari erosi dan sedimentasi serta meningkatan keanekaragan hayati. Mangrove yang baru ditanam berfungsi sebagai habitat bagi berbagai jenis biota laut dan satwa liar. Penanaman mangrove memberikan manfaat sosial ekonomi bagi masyarakat diantaranya peningkatan pendapatan dari hasil perikanan dan pengembangan ekowisata.

Abstract

Coral reefs are one of the ecosystems with the highest biodiversity. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of current velocity has on primary productivity in coral reef ecosystems. Current velocity measurements using a current meter and primary productivity measurements using the Winkler method by ƒincubated for 5 hours. The results obtained from this study are that current velocity has an effect on primary productivity in coral reef ecosystems, R value 0.895 and R Square shows 80.1%. The significance value obtained Sig = 0,04, which means less than 0.05, it can be interpreted that the effect of current velocity on primary productivity is strong category. Based on the study results obtained, more research is necessary to find out how much the velocity of the current affects the primary productivity of the coral reef.

Abstract

The pedada fruit (Sonneratia alba), locally known as posi-posi, has potential as a raw material for herbal tea with various health benefits, such as lowering cholesterol, relieving gout, providing antioxidant effects, reducing gastric acidity, and supporting organ health. However, mangrove tea has not yet been widely marketed in North Maluku, and it is not available as a local tourism souvenir. This Community Service Program (PKM) aimed to: (i) increase partners’ knowledge of mangrove fruit as a business opportunity, (ii) apply appropriate technology in tea processing, and (iii) produce high-quality mangrove tea variants with market value. The implementation stages included: (1) knowledge delivery through presentations and discussions, (2) mangrove exploration along the Guraping tourism tracking route, and (3) demonstration of mangrove tea processing. The product was developed into five variants: TeOry, Tebal, TeGo, TTM, and PosiNaga. Each variant was packaged in tea bags and boxes, then evaluated using hedonic organoleptic testing based on color, aroma, taste, and texture. The results indicated that mangrove tea has promising potential as a distinctive tourism souvenir and as a new business opportunity for local communities.

Abstract

Akumulasi sampah organik  seperti kayu, ranting, dan dedaunan  di pesisir Pantai Kastela  Kota Ternate tidak terkelola dengan baik, yang menyebabkan pencemaran lingkungan, merusak ekosistem, dan berdampak negatif pada sektor pariwisata. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini dilakukan dengan memberikan pelatihan pengolahan sampah kepada Kelompok Sadar Wisata (Pokdarwis) Gam Lamo. Pelatihan ini memperkenalkan inovasi teknologi pengolahan sampah menjadi briket sebagai bahan bakar alternatif yang ramah lingkungan dan bernilai ekonomi. Metode yang digunakan meliputi sosialisasi, penyuluhan, dan pelatihan teknis. Berdasarkan evaluasi menggunakan pre-test dan post-test, terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan peserta sebesar 90%, dengan skor rata-rata pre-test 52 dan post-test 94. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan berhasil meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan peserta. Selain mengurangi pencemaran dan emisi karbon, pembuatan briket juga menciptakan peluang usaha baru dan mendukung kemandirian ekonomi Masyarakat. Hal ini membuktikan bahwa solusi berbasis komunitas efektif dalam mencapai keberlanjutan lingkungan dan kesejahteraan masyarakat di wilayah pesisir.

Abstract

Terumbu karang tidak hanya menyediakan habitat bagi berbagai jenis flora dan fauna, tetapi juga menjadi sumber utama mata pencaharian dan penghidupan bagi jutaan manusia yang tinggal di kawasan pesisir. Diantara berbagai kelompok organisme yang menghuni ekosistem ini, gastropoda memiliki peran ekologi yang sangat penting. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui komposisi jenis dan kepadatan gastropoda di Pantai Bama Taman Nasional Baluran. Metode yang digunakan pada penalitian ini adalah LIT (Line Intercept Transect) atau sering di sebut transek garis sepanjang 50 m dan transek kuadrat 1×1 m transek diletakkan diatas garis LIT. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat enam jenis gastropoda yang terdiri dari enam famili, yaitu Strombus luhuanus (Strombidae), Conus literatus (Conidae), Trochus niloticus (Trochidae), Cypraea annulus (Cypraeidae), Turbo imperialis (Turbinidae), dan Coralliophila abbreviate (Muricidae). Kepadatan gastropoda tertinggi ditemukan pada stasiun 2 yaitu 42 ind/m2 daru jenis S. luhuanus. Kepadatan gastropoda terendah terdapat pada stasiun 2, yaitu jenis C. annulus dengan nilai 7 ind/m2.
