Abstract

Abstract

Background: Healthcare sectors adopted various steps during the Covid-19 pandemic to prevent virus transmission, including limiting patient numbers. Telehealth can be an alternative solution since healthcare institutions can provide services without direct contact. Aims: This research aims to analyze healthcare workers’ intentions in Indonesia toward telehealth using the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT) framework with additional variables. Methods: A literature review was undertaken to develop a framework tested using Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). This study was conducted with Indonesian healthcare institutions in Bandung and Surakarta. Participants consisted of doctors and nurses. Results: Of 200 participants, this finding showed effort expectancy, social influence, facilitating conditions, self-efficacy, and technology anxiety influenced the intention to adopt telehealth (p-Value ≤ 0.05). However, performance expectancy and perceived security and data have no significant influence (p-Value > 0.05). This study discovered that performance expectancy is influenced by effort expectancy (β = 0.727), while effort expectancy is influenced by self-efficacy (β = 0.642). Conclusion: Indonesian healthcare institutions must be concerned with factors affecting telehealth implementation, especially with data security, which has proven insignificant. Further research is required to optimize the application.

Abstract

Abstract. Air pollution is one of the most pressing emerging issues in Indonesia. To reduce emissions, people need to shift from conventional to electric motorcycles (EM). However, the number of conventional motorcycles (CM) in Indonesia is still far above electric, and there is no certainty whether the market will adopt it. Therefore, this research aims to identify significant factors that influence consumers’ decision in choosing electric or conventional motorcycles and to identify preferred motorcycle type, as well as to calculate the elasticity of each factor. Choice modeling analysis is used to estimate the probability of choosing motorcycles and the attributes that influence the decision. Data is collected through an online survey sent to 470 respondents. This research used three methods in processing the data: factor analysis, multinomial logistic regression, and demand elasticities analysis. Based on the result of this research, it is found that the significant factors are purchase price, charging times, driving range, and attitude towards each motorcycle type. Additionally, it is found that most of the respondents prefer electric motorcycles to conventional ones. The results suggested that motorcycles manufacturers should consider selling EM with lower prices, develop fast charging technology, and improve driving range, while the government should provide incentives for EM users. Therefore, this research supports findings to decrease air pollution in Indonesia by increasing the use of EM.Keywords: Electric vehicles, motorcycles, choice modeling, significant factors, stated preferenceAbstrak.

Abstract

Although public transport provides many benefits, such as a cleaner environment, reduced congestion, and increased sustainable transportation, many people still prefer private transport. This motivates the exploration of users’ intention to choose and use public transportation. This study explores the psychological factors of public transport users based on the theory of planned behavior (TPB). TPB assumes behavior built because of the intention. Attitude (ATT) does not determine the intention to influence behavior directly but through a combination of Subjective Norms (SN) and Perceived Behavioral Control (PBC). Responses from public transport users in Greater Bandung were collected using a questionnaire. The results show that attitude (ATT) is the most vital factor that positively influences user intention, based on standardized estimates of 0.866 (ATT), 0.301 (PBC), and 0.202 (SN). Environmental and climate issues have the most significant influence on user attitudes when compared to quality factors sorted by standardized estimated values such as travel time, safety, and fare. Previous research revealed that the dominant factor was quality, but in this study, it switched to factors of transportation activities that affect the environment. In fact, the factor of ease of use and encouragement of information media is crucial to be considered by stakeholders.

Abstract

Bandung, the capital of West Java, is 2021 Indonesia's most crowded city. Congestion happens even then since the number of cars in Bandung has grown by an average of 11% annually. To overcome the congestion, the Ministry of Transportation Republic Indonesia programme created the "Teman Bus" programme in December 2021. Therefore, this study explores the impact of factors influencing passenger loyalty towards public bus services. A cross-sectional survey of bus users in Bandung was conducted in June 2022, with 211 respondents. The data were analysed using structural equation modelling. Using PLS-SEM, the relationship between constructs and loyalty was examined, and importance-performance map analysis was used to determine which drivers should prioritise increasing levels of a target construct of interest. The results indicate that perceived safety and security, perceived service quality, and image significantly influence loyalty. It also implies that those three variables, as revealed by the study's findings of the importance and performance matrix, need to be improved to increase customer loyalty when it comes to bus services.

Abstract

As one of the most popular destinations in Indonesia, Bali has experienced growth in its domestic passenger arrivals over the last few years. Travel restrictions during COVID-19 have reduced airline passenger numbers on the Jakarta-Denpasar route. The travel restriction has loosened, and the economy is starting to recover in January 2022. However, the number of domestic passengers arriving in Denpasar has not returned to its former state. This research aims to understand the influential factors in the airline decision-making of domestic passengers on the Jakarta-Denpasar route. We started the research with an exploratory study to find the influential factors in which we obtained five attributes. The attributes include airfare, flight schedule, transit number, travel time, and HEPA filter. We conducted a stated choice experiment with five alternatives: Foreign private LCC, Private FSC, Private LCC, Flag LCC, and Flag FSC. The questionnaire was designed with a D-efficient design. We obtained 256 respondents, and there are 2048 observations for the Mixed Multinomial Logit Model estimation. From the estimation, we found that airfare, number of transits, travel time, and HEPA filter are all significant with expected signs. We also found that the flight schedule is not significant. Several socio-demographic variables, such as Gender, Age (except for Flag FSC), and income (also except for Flag FSC), are insignificant in airline choice decisions. We also presented the calculation of elasticity as well as the willingness to pay. Further, we propose that all airlines increase their direct flights for the Jakarta-Denpasar route since respondents prefer less transit. As people are more concerned about public transport’s hygiene, stating that HEPA filters’ availability in airline promotion is also recommended to gain more trust. Finally, our paper offers recommendations for airlines to improve their services and passenger satisfaction after the pandemic recovery period.

Abstract

The entertainment business has lately seen a transformation due to the expansion of digital platforms and the increased popularity of online entertainment. The digital age has completely transformed the entertainment industry. Businesses must adapt and embrace these changes if they want to thrive. Businesses can use the trial strategy to attract new customers despite fierce competition. Users initially assume they do not need it and are prepared to pay for supplemental services for things they typically use for free. Users become uneasy when they stop receiving their benefits and realize they require these extra services. This motivates people to purchase further services voluntarily. The execution of the trial strategy and perceived quality, price, satisfaction, and value are discussed in connection to how they affect customer purchase intention. Trial strategy and perceived price are independent variables. Perceived value, satisfaction, and quality then function as mediating variables. Also, purchase intention is the dependent variable. An online survey with 336 participants was undertaken. The findings from quantitative methodologies demonstrate that trial strategy, perceived value, and satisfaction have a direct, positive, and significant impact on purchase intention. In the meanwhile, buying intention is indirectly impacted by perceived quality and price.

Abstract

Social commerce has become a recent phenomenon and is poised to grow rapidly in the next few years. To better address customer behavior on social commerce platforms, it is imperative to acquire a comprehensive understanding of social commerce from the perspective of service quality. The objective of this research is to examine the dimensions of social commerce service quality and to reveal the factors influencing purchase intentions among the expanding user population. This study identified seven critical dimensions of social commerce service quality (website design, fulfilment, customer service, communication, contact, credibility, and security) that influence purchase intention. This research adopts a questionnaire survey method to collect data from social commerce users. Using PLS-SEM, the findings from an empirical analysis, conducted with a sample of 411 social commerce users, demonstrate that all measured dimensions significantly impact the intention to purchase. The findings also demonstrate that e-commerce has considerable influence on customer purchase intention as a partial mediator in social commerce. The findings hold significant implications for social commerce enterprises to increase customer attraction by identifying the motivations behind their purchasing decisions.

Abstract

Women's choice decision has gained lots of attention in the literature, particularly regarding how they evaluate attributes that are similarly important. The Indonesian skincare market is one of the most attractive markets, not only for local but also global producers of skincare products. This paper aims to provide an in-depth analysis of factors that affect Indonesians when they choose facial sheet masks (SM) from three countries—Indonesia, South Korea, and France—and to examine respondents' preferences with regard to local or imported SM products. This study used a mixed method, starting with exploratory research to find the levels of attribute for each alternative. A hybrid choice model is later established with Python Biogeme to find significant factors, demand elasticities, and willingness to pay. From its exploratory research, this study ascertained several attributes such as price, packaging, quality, brand, refreshing effect, halal essence, and attitudes. This study found that price, quality, refreshing effect, halal essence, and attitude significantly influence SM choice decisions from the discrete choice. The results fill a gap in the literature by comprehensively examining product properties and attitudes that affect women's decisions regarding skincare products. It also contributes—particularly for the skincare industry and marketers—to further improve the SM market share, particularly in the Indonesian and Southeast Asian markets.
