Abstract

Hypertension is one of the major health issues commonly experienced by the community, especially among the elderly. A lack of understanding regarding blood pressure management methods poses a significant challenge in controlling this condition. This community service program aims to raise awareness and improve residents' skills in managing hypertension through acupressure therapy as a non-pharmacological approach. The program was conducted in RT 03, Ponorogo Subdistrict, using methods such as education, demonstrations, and hands-on practice. Participants were provided with an understanding of the definition of hypertension, its causes, impacts, and the benefits of acupressure therapy in lowering blood pressure. Training sessions focused on practicing specific acupressure points on the body, accompanied by blood pressure measurements taken before and after the therapy sessions. The results indicated a reduction in participants' blood pressure levels following acupressure therapy. Additionally, participants' knowledge regarding hypertension and its management improved significantly. In conclusion, acupressure therapy has proven to be an effective and practical solution that can be independently applied to manage blood pressure and prevent hypertension-related complications in the community.

Abstract

In 2021, there were 7,389 deaths in Indonesia. This number represents an increase compared to 2020, which recorded 4,627 deaths (Ministry of Health, 2021). The Indonesian Health Survey (2023) found that 27.7% of pregnant women in Indonesia had anaemia in 2023. The aim of this study was to identify factors associated with the incidence of anaemia among pregnant women in the third trimester in the Beringin Raya Health Centre work area, Bengkulu City, in 2024. The research method used was a descriptive quantitative study with a cross-sectional approach. The sampling technique employed total sampling, with a sample size of 31 participants representing all pregnant women in the third trimester in the Beringin Raya Health Centre Work Area, Bengkulu City, in 2024. The results showed that nearly half of the respondents (35.5%) had anaemia, nearly half of the respondents (41.9%) were of high-risk age (<20 or >35 years), a small proportion of respondents (19.4%) were grandemultigravida, nearly half of the respondents (25.8%) had chronic energy deficiency, and nearly half of the respondents (29%) had insufficient knowledge. The results showed that age (0.021), parity (0.000), chronic energy deficiency (0.012), and knowledge (0.000) were associated with the occurrence of anaemia. There is a relationship between age, parity, KEK, and maternal knowledge with the incidence of anaemia in pregnant women in the third trimester in the Beringin Raya Health Centre Working Area, Bengkulu City. The researchers suggest that the Beringin Raya Health Centre in Bengkulu City use the results of this study as a basis for implementing guidance, training, and counselling programmes on the incidence of anaemia in pregnant women in the third trimester.

Abstract

The increase in JKN participants has created a separate problem, especially for private hospitals. An increase in the number of patients that is disproportionate to the number of health workers will have a psychological impact on health workers which can reduce the quality of service, while service will determine the level of patient satisfaction and have an impact on the number of patients seeking treatment at the hospital. The purpose of this study was to determine Nurse Services on the satisfaction of inpatient JKN patients at Rafflesia Hospital. The method used is cross sectional research method. Data was collected by distributing questionnaires to 162 patients using a random sampling technique. The results of the univariate test analysis showed that 74 respondents (45.7%) had good nurse services, 65 respondents (40.1%) said it was quite good, while 23 respondents (14.2%) were not good enough. The results of the Bivariate analysis showed that there was a relationship between nurse service and patient satisfaction

Abstract

Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women, with significant global mortality rates. The World Health Organization (WHO, 2012) reported that in 2011, over 508,000 women worldwide died from this disease, which accounts for the highest percentage of new cases at 43.3% and a mortality rate of 12.9%. Existing therapies, including surgery, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy, often accompany side effects such as pain, weakness, hair loss, and menstrual disorders. Acupressure, as a form of non-pharmacological therapy, has the potential to mitigate these side effects through the application on meridian points LI4, SP6, and LR3, selected for their relevance to the energy flow affecting pain and the reproductive system. This study investigates the impact of acupressure on points LI4, SP6, and LR3 concerning pain and menstrual disorders in patients with carcinoma mammae undergoing chemotherapy in Bengkulu City. Utilizing a quasi-experimental design and a two-group pretest-posttest with control approach, this study involved 30 participants divided into two groups: 15 in the control group and 15 in the intervention group, selected through purposive sampling. The findings indicated no significant differences in the reduction of pain and menstrual disorders between the groups, with a p-value showing no statistical significance. This suggests that acupressure might be more effective if applied continuously in the early stages of chemotherapy. These findings invite further research to explore the therapeutic potential of acupressure in managing breast cancer, particularly for mitigating chemotherapy side effects.
