Abstract

Proxy war is the intervention of a third party in one of the factions to fight another faction. The Arab Spring and the Syrian Civil War as well as the lone wolf attack IS (Islamic State) are one of its manifestations. In the future, proxy war will be a method commonly used in conflict. This is because the progress of information and communication technology has facilitated the implementation of proxy war. The progress of information and communication technology also made this era an era of proxy war. The following study aims to outline the threats and challenges facing Indonesian Muslims in the era of proxy war. The results of the study are expected to broaden the perspective of Islamic studies by raising the subject of studies that have not yet been studied but are also expected to have positive implications in proxy war discourse. The method used in the study is literature review. The results of the study indicate that proxy-forming narratives are a threat as well as the main challenges faced by Indonesian Muslims in the era of proxy war. To deal with it, Indonesian Muslims are required to have deeper religious knowledge and broad religious insights.

Abstract

Abstract The following research aims to discuss the development of Islamic maritime civilization on the East Coast of Sumatra during the 17th to 18th centuries AD. What sultanates represented the Islamic maritime civilization on the East Coast of Sumatra from the 17th to the 18th century AD and what were the characteristics of the Islamic maritime civilization on the East Coast of Sumatra that developed during this period are the two questions raised in this research. To answer these two questions, this research uses the historical research method with research steps that include heuristics, criticism, interpretation, and historiography. The search for sources was conducted through literature research. The results of the research itself are expected to have positive implications for the development of the history of Islamic civilization in the archipelago, especially in the field of Islamic maritime civilization which has been neglected. The research concluded that the Islamic maritime civilization on the East Coast of Sumatra was represented by sultanates such as Aceh, Siak, Deli, Serdang, Langkat, and Asahan. These sultanates were sultanates with brown water civilization because they placed the center of their power downstream of the river. Nevertheless, their maritime capabilities have reached green water cruising and blue water cruising. Abstract

Patokpicis is one of the villages in Wajak District, Malang Regency, which also develops agriculture and agroforestry, one of which is Coffee agroforestry. For a particular land use, a comparison must be made between the suitability of the land and the requirements of the land suitability level. The purpose of this study was to analyze the suitability of Argoforesty coffee agroforestry in Patokpicis village, Wajak District, Malang Regency. This research was conducted in February-July 2023. Furthermore, using qualitative descriptive methods, the object of this practice is land use data. The research results show that all sub-villages have good soil texture for the growth of coffee plants, with ideal soil pH and stable air temperature. Although there are some environmental factors that are not ideal, such as slightly high soil pH and somewhat high air temperature, the soil in the area still has good potential to support the growth of coffee plants. The research results show that Patokpicis and Bangsri hamlets are included in hamlets that have land suitability classes S1 and S2, while Klakah and Sumbersuko hamlets are included in the S1, S2, and N categories for the 4 soil characteristics analyzed.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe Sultanate of Deli is a sultanate located on the east coast of Sumatra that has been colonized by the Dutch since 1862. Before colonization by the Dutch, the capital of the Sultanate of Deli was located in a riverside town called Labuhan. A few decades after colonization, the Sultan of Deli moved his capital to Sultangrond in Medan Putri. The move has led to significant changes in the role of the capital of the Sultanate of Deli. The following study aims to explain the changing role played by the capital of the Sultanate of Deli before and after the move. The results of the study are expected to contribute positively to knowledge about the history of sultanates in the archipelago. The method used in this study is the literature research method. The results of the study show that the sultanate capital in Labuhan played a more complex role than the capital in Sultandgrond. Labuhan not only served as the center of the Deli Sultanate's government but also as an economic center where the Deli export and import ports were also located. Meanwhile, after the move of the capital to Sultangrond in Medan, the capital of the Sultanate of Deli no longer played the role of an economic center as before. Keywords: Deli Sultanate, history of Islam, Labuhan, Sultangrond, East Coast of Sumatra ABSTRAKKesultanan Deli adalah sebuah kesultanan yang berada di kawasan Pantai Timur Sumatera yang dikolonisasi oleh Belanda sejak Tahun 1862.
