Abstract

A constructivist learner should be able to construct their own knowledge. This study developed inductive reasoning worksheet to guide the students in constructing and understanding inorganic compound nomenclature. The developed worksheet was considered as feasible and was implemented to 36 senior high schools students in Palangka Raya, Central Kalimantan-Indonesia. The worksheet effectively guided the students to construct and understand inorganic compound nomenclature. The ability to construct inorganic compound nomenclature was positively correlated with the understanding of the nomenclature concept.

Abstract

This study aims to (1) determine and describe the effect of the use of the e~Module of hydrocarbon compounds on the independent learning outcomes of class XI students of SMA Negeri 3 Palangka Raya, and (2) describe the student's response to the use of the e~Module of hydrocarbon compounds on student self-study outcomes. class XI SMA Negeri 3 Palangka Raya. This research is a quasi-experimental study, the sample of this research is 60 students, namely students in class XI~MIPA 1 and XI~MIPA 2 odd semesters for the academic year 2020/2021. This study uses a Posttest-Only Control Design. At the end of the lesson, the two sample classes were given a cognitive test using the same instrument and tested qualitatively and quantitatively. Data was collected by using multiple choice test method with five options. The test method was carried out to obtain the final score data after being treated in the quasi-experimental group and the control group. The hypothesis was tested using a t-test and was preceded by a prerequisite test which included a normality test and a homogeneity test, the student's response to the use of the e-module was quantified and the percentage calculated. The results showed that there was an effect of using e~Modul on the mastery of the concept of hydrocarbon compounds in SMA Negeri 3 Palangka Raya students with a significance level of 5% (thit 5.19 greater than the value of ttab = 2.05). The results of the student response analysis showed a positive response with an average value of 95.67%, which means that the e~Modul helps class XI students of SMA Negeri 3 Palangka Raya in understanding the concept of hydrocarbon compounds independently. Keywords: e~Module of hydrocarbon compounds, independent study, learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the need for the development of differentiated learning-based e-Worksheet (e-LKPD) on the acid-base concept at SMA Negeri 2 Palangka Raya. Differentiated learning allows teachers to present materials and assessments tailored to students' varying abilities and learning styles. The research method used is qualitative descriptive, with data collection techniques including questionnaires, interviews, and observations involving teachers and students. The results show that teachers need a comprehensive, interactive, and flexible e-LKPD with adjustable content and exercises of varying difficulty levels. Students desire a visually appealing e-LKPD that is easily accessible across multiple devices and includes interactive features and instant feedback. In conclusion, the development of a differentiated learning-based e-LKPD is essential for improving the effectiveness of teaching the acid-base concept, supporting individual differences among students, and facilitating active engagement in learning.

Abstract

This study demonstrates the Treffinger model's impact on autonomous learning through Student Worksheets (LKS) concerning hydrocarbon compounds. Students showed a good understanding of hydrocarbons through problem-solving using the Treffinger model, achieving an average score of 79.56. Implementing the Treffinger model in learning activities significantly enhanced their knowledge about Hydrocarbons, achieving a coefficient of 84.46%. Treffinger's learning paradigm enhances student engagement, innovation, active participation, and a student-centred approach, augmenting motivation, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the concept mastery of students in class XI MIPA 3 of SMA Negeri 3 Palangka Raya through discovery learning assisted by inductive student worksheets (LKS-Induktif). The subjects of this study were students of class XI MIPA 3 who had not yet received the sub-topic on acidity level (pH). The instruments used in this research included a concept mastery test (pretest and posttest) in the form of 5 essay questions, a learning management observation sheet, and a student response questionnaire. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively. The results of the data analysis showed: a) The average concept mastery on the indicator of explaining the definitions of strong acid, weak acid, strong base, and weak base increased by 33.8%, b) The average concept mastery on the indicator of calculating the pH of strong acid solutions based on concentration data increased by 52.3%, c) The average concept mastery on the indicator of calculating the pH of strong base solutions based on concentration data increased by 48.5%, d) The average concept mastery on the indicator of analyzing the pH of weak acids based on concentration data and acid dissociation constant (Ka) increased by 63.5%, e) The average concept mastery on the indicator of analyzing the pH differences of weak base solutions based on concentration data and base dissociation constant (Kb) increased by 83.8%.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the feasibility of interactive e-LKPD and the effectiveness of using interactive e-LKPD with the PBL model on salt hydrolysis subject. The development of interactive e-LKPD uses the 4-D model from Thiagarajan with development stages including define, design, develop and disseminate. Technically, the development stages carried out include problem identification, student needs analysis, material analysis, initial e-LKPD design, expert assessment, individual readability tests, group readability tests, and field trials. The subjects of this research were students of class XI MIPA SMAN 1 Palangka Raya. Data collection is through validation questionnaires, as well as pre-test and post-test question sheets. Interactive e-LKPD with the PBL model is very effective in guiding students' learning activities with a success percentage of 93.01%. The effectiveness of interactive e-LKPD with the PBL model to increase students' conceptual understanding is in the high category with an N-Gain score of 0.87. The ability to learn using e-LKPD with the PBL model is positively correlated with concept understanding (r = 0.950) with a coefficient of determination of 90.34%. Based on these feasibility criteria, interactive e-LKPD with a PBL model on salt hydrolysis subjet is suitable for use and effective in increasing students' understanding.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of STEM-Project Based Learning with learning guides on the Concept of Electrolyte and Non-Electrolyte Solutions on the ability to think of high order students of class X SMA Negeri 3 Palangka Raya. The study used a quasi experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design. The research sample was 35 students of Class X MIPA 1 as a control class and 36 students of Class X MIPA 5 as an experimental class. STEM-Project Based Learning with learning guides is done using the help of study guides. Data collection of higher order thinking skills is carried out using tests (pretest and posttest) specifically designed to measure higher order thinking skills. The data obtained were statistically analyzed using the t test to compare the increased thinking ability of the kontrol class and the experimental class. The statistical test results obtained that tcount is greater than ttable, that is tcount = 21.74 greater than ttable = 2.032, which shows that the average increase in high order thinking skills of experimental class students is better than the average increase in the ability of thinking of control class students. Thus, it can be concluded that STEM-Project Based Learning with learning guides on the Concept of Electrolyte and Non-Electrolyte Solutions can improve higher order thinking skills. Keywords: electrolyte and non-electrolyte solutions, STEM-Project Based Learning, high order thinking. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpmipa/v23i3.pp1214-1223
