Abstract

Abstract

This study investigates the effectiveness of the interference-handling radio frequency direction finding (RFDF) monitoring system in detecting and localizing interference sources near the BMKG C-Band weather radar in West Kalimantan, Indonesia. We conducted field tests varying interference transmitter power levels (0-30 dBm) and distances (100, 500, and 1,000 m) from the radar. Results indicate the RFDF system's robust performance, consistently detecting interference within 5-20 minutes and accurately localizing sources with minimal deviation from actual positions. The findings confirm the system's superiority over traditional manual methods, offering a reliable solution for interference management in weather radar operations. However, limitations include controlled test conditions and a need for further exploration of the system's efficacy in diverse environmental settings. This research contributes to improving radar reliability and lays the groundwork for future studies to refine RFDF technology for broader meteorological applications.

Abstract

Advances in science and technology are increasingly sophisticated and complex. Smart devices, smartphones, tablets, and other complicated media mark the rapid development of communication technology. Smart devices are electronic devices, generally connected to other devices or networks via different wireless protocols. One example of a smart device that is widely used is a smartphone. People frequently use smartphones as a communication tool in the current global era. As a result, most people are dependent on these devices, which can expose them to harmful electromagnetic waves. Given the dangers smartphones can cause to people, it is recommended to limit the use of smartphones. Therefore, the purpose of implementing this community service is to educate the public, especially students and teachers at SDN 16 Bekut, on the dangers of smartphone radiation. This is done by educating people about the need to use smartphones responsibly and not excessively. Based on the questionnaire results and recapitulation of the results of this activity, it was found that the level of understanding and satisfaction index of the actifvity participants reached 86.45%.

Abstract

Continuing water flow rates over time can lead to sedimentation and erosion at the base of the river, potentially damaging ecosystems and infrastructure around the rivers. Monitoring of water flow speeds below the surface of a river needs to be done for monitoring in order to analyze the speed of the water flow that is in the surrounding river. The study develops a monitoring device for water flow speed under the surface using Modbus RS485 communications that are integrated with Internet of Things (IoT) technology to provide water flow information. The research method involves the use of water flow sensors and NodeMCU ESP32. The water flow sensor is capable of accumulating data with measurement accuracy of 96.92% with comparison of a digital flow meter. Tests in the pool are carried out with valve adjustments of 10% to 90% at depths of 15 cm and 45 cm. The pulse generated by the water flow sensor is seen using the Instrustar oscilloscope with the help of the Multi VirAnalyzer application. The test results showed that current speeds range from 0.05 m/s to 0.36 m/s, with pulses increasing as the flow rate increases. As for testing in rivers, sensors can measure current speed up to a depth of 60 cm, with an average speed of 0.06 m/s at a dependency of 15 cm to 0.27 m/s at 60 cm. Test results show that the more in the sensor placement, the higher the measured current speed. The data is displayed on the LCD and Blynk platform, as well as stored in the micro SD.

Abstract

The transformer is one of the critical pieces of equipment for distributing electrical energy from the generator connected to the transmission to the consumer of Diesel and Gas Power Generation Service Units (ULPLTD/G). Therefore, the existence of insulation is essential due to its function as a separator among the transformer core and as a transformer cooler to minimize the heat that arises in the transformer. Hence, the objective of this research was to evaluate the transformer oil quality. The procedure was executed by observing the transformer and collecting data directly from the diesel machine of SWD 2, SWD 3, and SLZ 5. The results revealed that the breakdown voltage of transformer oil categorized as good was SLZ 5 oil with an average of 59,983, and the less good was SWD 2 oil with an average of 34.516. Furthermore, by observing the test results for new and used transformer oil, the breakdown voltage value for new transformer oil was always higher than used oil. Eventually, the transformer efficiency achieved was 95.58%.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze Quality of Service (QoS) parameters on cellular networks using four providers by measuring throughput, packet loss, delay and jitter parameters when conducting Video Streaming and Online Games using the Wireshark application. The research method involves direct measurement of QoS parameters in several strategic locations in Punggur Kecil village, data was taken at three different location points with a distance comparison of ±500 meters. From all the recapitulations of QoS parameter measurement results, it can be concluded that the value of each QoS parameter can vary for each package which includes the categories poor, medium, good and very good because the bandwidth received by each provider is different. The cause of high and low values of different QoS parameters, Throughput is caused by the number of packet arrivals measured during the observation process, Packet Loss is caused by the number of queues exceeding capacity, Delay is caused by low Throughput values and the number of packets sent, while the Jitter value is influenced by the Delay value. The results obtained are that the Indosat provider is the recommended provider when carrying out Video Streaming and Online Games, because the Quality of Service value produced is superior to other providers. The average values of the Throughput, Packet Loss, Delay and Jitter parameters at each location for the Indosat provider are respectively 796kbps, 2.63%, 22.6ms and 22.6ms. Provider XL is 708kbps, 1.67%, 12.6ms, and 12.6ms. Provider Telkomsel 667kbps, 0.33%. 55.9ms, and 56ms. As well as the Smartfren provider 50kbps, 0.38%, 102.6ms, and 102.7ms.
