Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas tentang Pengaruh Kompetensi Pustakawan terhadap Kualitas Layanan di Dinas Perpustakaan dan Arsip Kota Bima dengan tujuan untuk: 1) Mengetahui Bagaimana Kompetensi Pustakawan di Dinas Perpustakaan dan Arsip Kota Bima, 2) Untuk mengetahui Bagaimana Kualitas Layanan di Dinas Perpustakaan dan Arsip Kota Bima, 3) c.       Untuk mengetahui Sejauh Mana Pengaruh Kompetensi Pustakawan Terhadap Kualitas Layanan di Dinas Perpustakaan dan Arsip Kota Bima.Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif, yang berlokasi di Dinas Perpustakaan dan Arsip Kota Bima dengan menggunakan pendekatan manajerial. Pendekatan manajerial adalah sebuah pendekatan yang bersifat sistematis dan teratur dalam menyusun dan melibatkan unsur-unsur yang terpadu untuk melihat pengaruh kompetensi pustakawan terhadap kualitas layanan. Penelitian ini terdiri atas satu variabel independen dan satu variabel, populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh masyarakat Kota Bima yang berkunjung ke perpustakaan selama penelitian berlangsung. Teknik penarikan sampel yang dipilih adalah Accidental sampling yakni teknik yang dilakukan dengan cara menentukan siapa saja yang kebetulan ditemui oleh peneliti dan dipandang tepat untuk mewakili sebuah populasi.Hasil penelitian yang didapat dari pengumpulan data melalui observasi, angket dan dokumentasi yang diolah menggunakan SPSS, diketahui bahwa Kompetensi Pustakawan memiliki pengaruh yang cukup signifikan terhadap Kualitas Layanan di Dinas Perpustakaan dan Arsip Kota Bima. Terlihat dari hasil uji regresi linear sederhana yaitu membandingkan nilai signifikansi dengan nilai probabilitas dan membandingkan nilai thitung dan ttabel. Berdasarkan nilai signifikansi: diketahui nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000 < 0,05 sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa variabel X berpengaruh terhadap variabel Y. Berdasarkan nilai t: diketahui nilai t hitung sebesar 3,417 > t tabel sebesar 2,048 sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa variabel X berpengaruh terhadap variabel Y, dengan nilai persamaan regresi 0,322. Koefisien regresi tersebut bernilai positif.Implikasi dari penelitian ini adalah sebaiknya pelatihan dan pengembangan kepustakawanan lebih ditingkatkan lagi dari lembaga-lembaga yang membawahi setiap organisasi perpustakaan yang ada, sehingga kualitas atau kompetensi seorang pustakawan lebih di apresiasi tinggi.  Selain itu diharapkan juga bagi pustakawan untuk selalu memegang teguh kode etik profesi sehingga dapat menjaga harkat dan martabat profesi pustakawan.

Abstract

This research is a sociolinguistics study which explore the relationship between language and society. The aims of the research is to identify the kind of address terms used in English and Enrekang Durinese based on daily conversation. The research method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The Enrekang Durinese data is obtained by Recording and interviewing which is done by Massenrempulu people in Duri, Alla’ Sub-district, Enrekang District. The English data is obtained from English Movie and Series which contain utterance of address terms.The result of the research shows the kind of address terms used in English and Enrekang Durinese in daily conversations. They are: 1) Pronoun (Second Person Pronoun) 2) Kinship Terms and 3) Non-Kinship Terms. The difference from the both languages appeared in Pronoun, Enrekang Durinese has two type of Pronoun, Polite and Polite while In English, there is only one second person pronoun; you. Another difference found in kinship and non-kinship terms. Enrekang Durinese people usually use mockery to address family and relative while using mockery to address family and relative is not found in English Data. Another result found in this research is there are aspects that influence the use of the address terms in English and Enrekang Durinese, they are 1) Sex and Age 2) Situation 3) Social Rank/ Social status.

Abstract

In conducting this research, the researcher uses the descriptive qualitative method. This research is qualitative because the data are in the form of words and are analyzed based on the natural setting or context. this research to show the division of request strategy in speech act in the doorman movie. The doorman movie is an action genre movie which mostly from the data obtained is imperative. , the results reveal eight of Trosbrog's (1995) seven types of speech act techniques used by the characters in dialog in the movie entitled "The Doorman". Questioning the imperative strategy type of request speech act has the most data that is 16 data, and the willingness about 7 data and mild request and suggestory formulae, Statement of Obligation, Requesting as a statement of wish, permission and Statement of Speaker Wishes have the fewest data. Furthermore, the imperative strategy is very dominant in this case because the movie that Researcher uses is in the action genre, and what is unique is that the interlocutor after being given an imperative sentence or phrase and willingness and there are several or even indicating that there is no verbal answer but in a non-verbal way or we can say it as action as the answer.

Abstract

This paper investigates further elaboration of syntactic properties of Thinking verb. All data required for this study are taken in Corpus of Contemporary American English. This paper aims to analyse the complement clause possibilities in Thinking verbs and the sentence structure based on the data found in COCA. The research is conducted through qualitative procedures by categorizing a certain construction of the sentences and interpreting certain context related to the data. The feature of complement clause in Thinking verb has special properties; the ‘That’ is constituted in all verb types. ‘WH’ and ‘ING’ exist in Thinking verbs (except Conclude), Solve and Believe subtypes. ‘Judgment TO’ is found in Think, Assume, Remember, Know (except teach), Conclude and Believe (except Doubt) subtypes. ‘Modal (FOR) TO’ is generally formed in Think subtype (except Consider), Assume subtype (except Suppose), Ponder subtype, Remember subtype, Know subtype (except Sense), Conclude subtype (except Infer), Solve and Believe subtypes. The extended classification of Complement Clause possibilities in Thinking verbs resulted the expand of sentence classification as constituent part, Complement clause possibilities are enriched into some verb types and the data are mostly found in complex sentence.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the error analysis of Indonesian - English made by the student of English Departmentof Unhas . This research is descriptive qualitative .The data collection by means of quistionaire distributionquestionnaires , and the provision of translation tasks t made by the respondents . The subjects of this is students ofEnglish Department Unhas , while its object is tranted texts made by the students. Data analysis performed „content analysis approach‟ concerning with grammatical errors and lexical errors . The results of the study indicatethat translating Indonesian - English exts more difficult, compared to English - Indonesian taranslation. Thisrelates to the level of English competence of the translator .In addition based on the analysis of the results oftranslation errors of students , the total number of lexical errors is little more compared to grammatical errors . Thegrammatical errors, include: structure , coherence and morphological aspects . While errors at lexical aspectsinclude terminology , expressions , and cultural content . Abstract

This study attempted to explore theme-based tasks using familiar topics in promoting learners' productive skills namely speaking and writing skill at Indonesian secondary school context. This study was pre-experimental research undertaken in five junior secondary schools. There are eighty-six students participated as research respondents. Test and observation checklist used as research instruments. The research findings reported the mean scores on productive skills acquired by the students were getting improvement from pretest to posttest. In speaking skill, the mean score of posttest was 58.95 was better than 40.76 in pretest mean score. Similarly, the mean score of writing posttest was 76.85 was higher than 63.86 in pretest. It indicated that the progress of students' score in speaking skill was 18.19 and the progress of students' score in writing skill was 12.99. Although the gain scores in speaking and writing tests are slightly different, but it can be stated the students' productive skills promote significantly. Then, the result of t-test value on students' speaking skill posttest and pretest was 18.37, while the t-test value on students' writing skill posttest and pretest was 16.42. The both of these values are higher than t-table value. It indicated there is a significant difference between pretest and posttest for both tests. The students' English productive skills after treated by implementation of theme-based tasks were categorized as good achievement. Additionally, the majority of students' learning activities in English class are categorized as good category. They participated positively in English learning activities in terms of good attention, high seriousness, and activeness in group work.Keywords: Familiar Topics, Improvement, Productive Language, Theme-Based Tasks
