Abstract

This study aimed to assess the interaction and primary impact of varying concentrations of Golden Snail Liquid Fertilizer and Gibberellins on the growth and yield of Cayenne Pepper Plants (Capsicum frutescens L.). Conducted at the experimental farm of the Faculty of Agriculture at the Islamic University of Riau from February to June 2021, the research employed a 4 x 4 factorial design within a completely randomized framework, incorporating three replications. The first factor involved four levels of Golden Snail Liquid Fertilizer concentration: 0, 150, 300, and 450 ml per liter of water. The second factor examined four levels of Gibberellins concentration: 0, 20, 40, and 60 ppm. The parameters measured included plant height, flowering age, harvesting age, number of primary branches, fruit weight, and remaining fruit count. Statistical analysis of the research data was performed, followed by the 5% BNJ test. The findings indicated that the interaction between the concentrations of Golden Snail Liquid Fertilizer and Gibberellins significantly influenced all parameters measured, except for the number of primary branches. The optimal treatment was identified as a combination of 450 ml of Golden Snail Liquid Fertilizer per liter of water and 60 ppm of Gibberellins. Additionally, the concentration of Golden Snail Liquid Fertilizer had a significant primary effect on all observed parameters, with the most effective treatment being 450 ml per liter of water. Gibberellins also demonstrated a significant primary effect across all parameters, with the best concentration set at 60 ppm.

Abstract

The Effect of Hydroponic Height and Vertical Planting Media on the Growth of Chris Green (Lactuca sativa L.). This study was carried out at the Dokagu UIR Housing Block B No. 2, located in Air Dingin Village, Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru City, from August to September 2022. A Split Plot Design (RPT) was employed for the experimental setup, with the height of the gutter (A) as the main plot and various types of planting media (B) functioning as subplots. The treatment combinations included four different levels of lettuce types and four levels of height positioning, resulting in 16 treatment combinations, each replicated three times, summing up to a total of 48 experimental units. The parameters measured were plant height, leaf count, wet weight, dry weight, and root volume. If the calculated F value exceeds the F table value, a further Honestly Significant Difference (HSD) test at the 5% significance level will be conducted. The findings revealed that the interaction between hydroponic height and planting media significantly affected all observed parameters, with the exception of plant dry weight. The most effective treatment combination was found to be a hydroponic height of 80 cm and cocopeat as the planting medium (A3B4). Moreover, hydroponic height had a significant effect on all measured parameters, with 80 cm (A3) yielding the best results. Additionally, the choice of planting medium significantly influenced all observed parameters, with cocopeat (B4) proving to be the best treatment.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the interaction between Agassi Takashi and NPK Grower on the growth and production of edamame soybean plants in peat soil media. This study was conducted at the experimental farm of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University, for 4 months from October 2024 to February 2025. This study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of two factors. The first factor is Agassi Takashi, with 4 levels: 0, 40, 80, and 120 g per plant. The second factor is NPK Grower, with 4 levels: 0, 1, 2, 2.4, and 3.6 g per plant. The parameters observed were plant height, number of effective root nodules, number of primary branches, flowering age, number of fresh pods, and fresh pod weight. The data from this study were analyzed statistically and then subjected to a 5% BNJ test. The results of this study indicate that the interaction between Agassi Takashi and NPK Grower significantly affected plant height, the number of effective root nodules, flowering age, the number of fresh pods, and fresh pod weight. The best treatment was a combination of 120 g Agassi Takashi per plant and 3.6 g NPK Grower per plant. The main effect of Agassi Takashi was significant on all parameters, and the best treatment was 120 g per plant. The main effect of NPK Grower was significant on all parameters, and the best treatment was 3.6 g per plant.
