Abstract

In both Eastern and Western societies, proficiency in the local language and an understanding of cultural nuances were traditionally considered essential prerequisites for employment. However, a marked deviation from this norm was evident in the Gulf states, where communication with foreign workers became sporadic and, in many cases, was limited to specific roles or enforced through punitive measures. This linguistic neglect perpetuated the erosion of Arab heritage, contributing to the gradual loss of identity. This research aimed to thoroughly analyze the importance of foreign workers in the Gulf countries mastering Arabic. It investigated the impact of neglecting this linguistic aspect and proposed viable solutions to encourage learning, thus contributing to the preservation and enhancement of cultural values, identity, and society in the Gulf region. Using a literature study methodology, the research drew on a variety of sources, including previous research, newspapers, expert studies, and reports. The findings of this research underscored the need for collaborative efforts among countries in the region, drawing inspiration from experiences in the East and West. An important solution identified was activating the principle of shared responsibility, which included the establishment of training centers for expatriates to acquire essential Arabic vocabulary. The implications of this research extended to the establishment of stronger communication links within the country, the creation of international bridges, and the opening of employment opportunities for Arabic language and literature experts.

Abstract

In today's era, it is important to understand the impact of Steam Power Plant (PLTU) operations on the environment and economy around the plant site, especially in Kema Satu Village. PLTUs, which harness the kinetic energy of steam from geothermal heat, are widely used due to their ease of operation and accessibility of fuel. However, they also have significant impacts, both positive and negative, on local communities. This study aims to assess the environmental and economic impacts of PLTU Sulut 3 on the surrounding area, evaluate its operational efficiency, and determine its contribution to stabilizing and improving electricity supply in North Sulawesi and Gorontalo. The research method used was a combination of qualitative and quantitative techniques to ensure a comprehensive analysis. Data was collected through observation, interviews, and analysis of relevant secondary data. The results show that the PLTU in Kema Satu Village has significant impacts on the local environment, including air and water pollution, soil degradation, and ecosystem disruption. In addition to providing electricity supply and employment opportunities for the local community, the PLTU has also triggered property price inflation and shifts in the local economy. Other negative impacts include damage to the local agricultural sector and increased greenhouse gas emissions. The implications of this study emphasize the need for careful planning, community involvement, and the implementation of sustainable practices to mitigate negative effects on residents and the environment.

Abstract

Wordwall is one of the applications that is widely used in learning foreign languages. In Arabic language learning, wordwall is still studied and researched only at the level of qualitative research or only at describing its application process in learning. However, no one has tested it in the framework of the experiment to see its effectiveness. This study investigates the effectiveness of learning Arabic using Wordwall based on learning outcomes. It uses a pre-experimental One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. It recruited 72 first-year students in the Arabic language reinforcement program under UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta Language Development Center. The primary data is collected using pretest and posttest results, and then the results are analyzed using the t-test. Findings revealed that using Wordwall in the Arabic learning process effectively improved the student's Arabic skills.

Abstract

The name does not have the connotation of a particular language meaning, except to indicate what it is named after. Thus the name does not need to be translated into another language. In fact, when translated it will be prone to misunderstandings about what is meant. In the case of the translation of IAIN Kediri into Arabic carried out by the academic community of the Arabic language education study program, more than one variety of translations emerged, namely: 1) الجامعة الإسلامية الحكومية كديري dan 2) جامعة كديريالإسلامية الحكومية . This is due to differences in the techniques used to translate them. This inconsistency certainly resulted in the emergence of the allegation that the campus in question was different. This study uses a qualitative method by taking data from several student writings contained in thesis documents, papers, journal articles and books published by IAIN Kediri, web pages, and others and trying to find the most popular variety of translations. The findings of the analysis conclude that the technique of determining the equivalent of words in the two translations is exactly the same, namely using the generalization technique on the word institute, the reduction technique in the translation of Islamic religious words, the literal technique on the word Negeri and the borrowing technique which is naturalized on the word Kediri. Syntactic analysis concludes that there is a grammatical gap in the first translation model due to the use of a literal method that is oriented to the source text. While in the second translation model there is no grammatical gap, because the translation uses transmutation techniques so that the translation results have a pattern that is known in the target language.

So that it is expected that students will more easily understand the material presented by the teacher and can follow the learning process in a fun and not boring way. Based on the results of data analysis, after going through the process of validation and product testing, namely material validation by obtaining a percentage value of material feasibility of 81% and media validation of 78% and responses from student questionnaires of 80% which are in the very feasible category. It was concluded that the media was feasible and could be used as a supporting medium for learning Arabic, especially mufrodat.
