Abstract

The using of contraception in women is closely related to decreased fertility. In the Internation al Conference on Population and Development (1995), it is expected that women will absorb more information about the using of contraception and participate in using it, as the status of women's empowerment increases. This study aims to determine the effect of women's empowerment and socio-demographic factors on the using of modern contraception in West Java in 2017. The data used are acquired from the Indonesian Demographic and Health Survey (IDHS) in 2017. The research method uses binary logistic regression methods. It is a statistical method that uses binary data, where binary data is data that has only two possible outcomes. Ie results (0) fail, (1) success. Binary logistic regression tries to see how the relationship of some predatory variables with binary variables that have the possibility of failure and success. In this study the variable use of the contraception tool for the fertility rate of women aged 14-45 years. There are nine social demographic variables and five women's empowerment variables that significantly influence the use of modern contraception. The socio-demographic variables that significantly influence are age, female education, work status, husband's education, number of live children, ideal number of children, wealth index, area of residence, and family planning visits.

Abstract

The use of contraceptives in couples of childbearing ages will have an impact on births, the more children are born, the more costs will be incurred to support children and will have an impact on children's health. Growth and development are two events that are different, but interrelated and difficult to separate. The Family Development Program for Toddlers and Children is one of the efforts to foster and increase family planning participation for families of toddlers in supporting the realization of a happy and prosperous small family. This study aims to analyze the effect of family participation in childcare and development and BKB in West Java Province. This type of research is an analytic survey with a cross-sectional research design. Respondents are parents or families who have children under five and preschool in the BKB group and taken by purposive sampling of as many as 2,803 and bivariate analysis using the Chi-Square test. The result variable number of ideal children <0.05 means there is a relationship with the physical growth of toddlers, while the variables of the use of contraceptives and mother's education> 0.05 means there is no relationship with the physical growth of toddlers. The use of contraceptives can indirectly affect the physical growth of toddlers because the use of contraceptives will minimize unwanted births and focus more on the growth and development of children who have been born.

Abstract

Mental development in toddlers that is not optimal can lead to mental retardation resulting in psychological disorders in children, disruption of toddlers' social relationships, and can also cause crimes when toddlers enter their teenage years such as alcohol, theft and other behavioral deviations. Examining the influence of factors on the use of contraceptives, mother's education and the ideal number of children on the mental development of toddlers in West Java. This study aims to analyze the influence of family participation in parenting and growth and development of toddlers and BKB in West Java Province. The study used an analytic survey method with a cross sectional design. Respondents were parents or families with toddlers and preschoolers in the BKB group and 2,803 were taken by purposive sampling and bivariate analysis using the Chi-Square test. The Results mother's education has a value of 0.036 so that it has an influence on the mental development of toddlers, the variable use of contraceptives has a value of 0.354 so it has no effect on the mental development of toddlers and the ideal number of children has a value of 0.101 so it has no influence on the mental development of toddlers in West Java. The number of children a family has can affect the mental development of toddlers, so that every family must have the ideal number of children so they can focus on the mental development of their children.

Abstract

Adolescents really need high nutrients for growth and development, but most teenagers do not understand and consider nutritional intake according to their needs, this will have an impact on nutritional status and will even have an impact on health such as over nutrition and undernutrition, where This problem also results in a decrease in intelligence, weakening of the immune system and even triggers the emergence of various types of degenerative diseases. The problem of nutritional status consists of multi-factors such as nutritional knowledge, food availability, eating habits, exercise, and other factors. Analyzing any determinants related to the nutritional status of adolescents. The type of observational analytic with a cross-sectional design was used as a research design, the sample was 57 teenagers who were taken using a random sampling technique, the data obtained were analyzed using the chi-square test. The nutritional knowledge variable has a value of 0.025 which means it has a relationship with nutritional status, exercise habits have a relationship with adolescent nutritional status with a value of 0.005, eating habits have no relationship with adolescent nutritional status with a value of 0.893 and food availability has no relationship with nutritional status with a value of 0.893. 0.491. The variables of nutritional knowledge and exercise habits have more influence on the nutritional status of adolescents than the variables of food availability and eating habits of adolescents.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Indonesia merupakan negara dengan jumlah penduduk terbesar ke empat dunia, jika tidak dibarengi dengan kualitas sumber daya manusia yang unggul dan pengelolaan kebijakan yang baik, akan menyebabkan terjadinya bencana demografi. Diperlukan pengendalian penduduk melalui program Keluarga Berencana (KB) salahsatunya melalui pemakaian kontrasepsi.Tujuan: Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan keterpaparan informasi KB dengan dengan kesertaan ber-KB di Provinsi Jawa Barat.Metode: Metode penelitian kuantitatif sederhana dengan menggunakan data sekunder SKAP 2019. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif dan inferensia.Hasil: Diketahui bahwa rata-rata umur responden wanita adalah 32 tahun. Pendidikan tertinggi SMA sebanyak 34,6% dan sebagian besar tidak bekerja sebanyak 59,1 %. Responden wanita lebih banyak tinggal di kota dengan proporsi sebanyak 69,1% dan 30,9% tinggal di Desa. Hasil uji lanjut menggunakan chi-square diketahui bahwa terdapat hubungan informasi KB dengan kesertaan ber-KB. Responden yang pernah mendengar informasi KB memiliki kecenderungan untuk menggunakan KB sebesar 1/0,267 = 3,745 kali lebih besar dibandingkan dengan responden yang belum pernah terpapar informasi KB.Kesimpulan: Paparan media massa tentang informasi KB pada WUS baik itu melalui radio, televisi, maupun internet dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan tentang KB dan 3,7 kali berpeluang untuk ber-KB. Keterpaparan media tentang informasi KB perlu lebih efektif dan dan memiliki jangkauan lebih luas termasuk menjangkau kepesertaan KB pada laki-laki

Abstract

Family planning counselors or Penyuluh Keluarga Berencana (PKB) are frontline implementers of the population, family planning, and family development program at the grassroots level. This study aims to know the consumer satisfaction index of the PKB performance of  The National Population and Family Planning Board or Badan Kependudukan dan Keluarga Berencana (BKKBN) representative of West Java. The consumer satisfaction index was measured using the Permenpan RI (Regulation of the Minister for Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform of the Republic of Indonesia) Number 14 (2017). The study method is descriptive comparative through a purposive sampling survey using a 9 Likert scale. Based on the study, it is shown that the consumer satisfaction index of the PKB performance in 2018 is 71,89, which is service quality category C, which means underperformance. Based on the service, the timing of service is the lowest index, as much as 0.29, and the average of 2.64. PKB does not utilize the time for counseling and post-service assistance well or tends to be slow. Out of 10 steps of PKB, only 2 indicators are measured as satisfactory, which is the formal figure approach and the monitoring and evaluation of the record and reporting (RR). Hence, it is recommended that the BKKBN to maintain the PKB performance through training and development continually, a guidelines book, and periodic training of the 10 PKB steps, as well as the mapping of the affordability to reach PKB service.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the conduct implementation of the increasing male contraception policy in Bandung Barat Regency. The study is using qualitative methods with case studies approachment. Qualitative data were gained from 16 informants which consist of implementor group as program managers, and partnership and community group as the targeted group. This study was conducted at three locations: district of Cililin, Batu Jajar, and Parongpong. The study shows that the decision process to decide PPM as the standard and goals of the family planning program has been understood by all of its administrators and resources available for this program has been considered as sufficient in terms of quantity but yet still lack in quality. Furthermore, communication and coordination processes among administrators and associates are shown to be in accordance with the operational procedures, hence, influencing characteristics of the family planning programs. It is found that religion consideration makes the residents refuse male contraception. Family planning programs are considered as women's business for some certain people. Fortunately, the existence of a spirit of militancy, high loyalty and disposition/attitude possessed by the management officers towards this male family planning program has a major influence on the success of the program. Moreover, the study shows that politicians have demonstrated strong support for the family planning program. This supports take places through budgeting and politician's active participation in the male contraceptive programs

Abstract

Adolescent health risk behaviors often occur due to the lack of control and supervision of family functions in Indonesia. Family plays an important role in adolescent health behavior. Objective: The purpose of this study is to see how the description of family functions in families with adolescent children. Method: This study is a quantitative study. The samples in this study were families (parents) who had adolescent children. The samples selected were families with adolescent children whose data had been recorded in the 2019 program performance and accountability survey (SKAP) system. With a total of 1999 respondents from West Java Province selected using stratified multistage sampling. The SKAP questionnaire type used a family function questionnaire with a Croanbach alpha value of 0.81. Data obtained from SKAP 2019 were analyzed descriptively quantitatively. Descriptive data will be presented in tabular form. Results: The results of the analysis showed that the family function was quite good as much as 70.2%. Conclusions: Family functions in families with adolescent children in West Java Province are mostly good enough. With the application of 8 optimal family functions in the family, it is expected to prevent health risk behavior in adolescents.
