Abstract

Psychological conditions are things that can not be seen directly by the five senses. For example sleeplessness, there are feelings of guilt, thinking no life-threatening, it can not respond to others when asked, and many other psychological problems. In guidance and counseling, AUM umum helps to unravel the psychological conditions through nine field problems. The population and sample of the study included 91 students of class VII and VIII SMP IT Tariq ibn Ziyad Boarding School using AUM umum F-3 for data collection. Results of research for class VII revealed the problem area in PDP,  HSO,and JDK, and for class VIII is the problem area in PDP,and HSO got the highest yield of nine-field problems. Based on the interpretation of general AUM results, a description of the student's psychological condition can be an input for the school counselor to create the program and perform the service, most specifically to the field of issue that gets special attention.

Abstract

Anxiety is unplesant feelings or tension against something that has not yet happened, and it could raise a fear of the impact that might grow. REBT regards an anxiety as an irrational thought that lead an individual to behave ineffectively, such as avoiding particular situation. Public speaking anxiety is a fear that is felt when speaking in front of many people. This fear could generate a variety of symptoms, such as sweating and even forget the words to be delivered. To avoid this condition, the individual choose to remain silent. Group guidance service is one of guidance an counseling serviced aimed at training members of the group to speak in front of public and be able to share ideas with others. The research was designed for revealing: the average score of the students’ anxiety before and after group guidance service assisted with REBT approach was applied by using ABCDE model and homework assigment technique, and the effectiveness of group guidance service assisted with REBT approach to reduce the student’ anxiety. This research applied quantitative method. This was a pre-experimental research which used the one group pretest and posttest design. The subject was chosen by using purposive sampling method. The subject of the research was seven students having high anxiety, medium anxiety and low anxiety. This research was conducted at IAIN Imam Bonjol Padang. The data gathered were analyzed by using statistic non-parametrik technique assisted with Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test and SPSS version 20.00. The result of the research showed that there was a difference between the average score of the students’ anxiety before and after the treatment given in which their pretest score was 136,1 and their posttest score was 111,5. Futhermore, the result of hypothesis test indicated that the score of Asymp. Sig (2-tailed) was 0,005 which was below alpha 0,05 (0,005<0,05). Hence, Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted. Based on these result, it was concluded that the use of group guidance service assisted with REBT approach which was applied by using ABCDE model and homework assigment technique was effective to overcome the students’ anxiety to speak in front of people (in the class).

Abstract

Indonesia is the 4th the most populous country in the world after China, India and the United States. So that the State of Indonesia is included in one of the developing countries in the world. However, in scientific publications, Indonesia ranks 48th in the world. This encourages researchers' interest in assessing the psychological condition of Indonesian students in writing, because writing skills is not only cognitive but also emotional activities. The purpose of this study was to describe the anxiety conditions of Indonesian students in writing based on gender, ethnicity, province, department, university, and writing experience. This type of research is descriptive. The research sample is 1002 respondents consisting of eight ethnic groups in Indonesia. The data in this study are 5-point Likert scale politomy data collected using the writing apprehension scale. The instrument consisted of 26 statements of general anxiety about writing, teacher writing evaluations, peer writing evaluations, and professional evaluations (e.g., publishers and magazine editors) administered online. The research data were analyzed using the Rasch model using variable maps, and subtotal specifications. The findings show that there is no difference in anxiety of male and female students in writing, students who have never written will experience more writing anxiety than students who have written. Thus, students who have written but have not finished writing a paper will also experience writing anxiety.

Abstract

Abstract: Marriage readiness is a crucial aspect in shaping the foundation of marital life. This research aims to analyze students' understanding of the concept of marriage readiness, taking into consideration the background issues involving changes in social values, academic pressure, influence of social environment, and the impact of mass media. The research is conducted qualitatively using in-depth interviews and content analysis of students' responses regarding marriage readiness. Samples are purposively selected, involving students from various backgrounds and experiences. The study aims to comprehend the factors influencing students' understanding of marriage readiness and explore their perspectives on values, academic pressure, social environment, and mass media in the context of marriage. The findings indicate that changes in social values, academic pressure, influence of social environment, and mass media significantly affect students' understanding of marriage readiness. The implications of these findings can be utilized as a basis for designing relevant educational programs and psychosocial support for students, enabling them to understand and face marriage with mature preparation. This research contributes to a profound understanding of the factors influencing students' views on marriage in the contemporary era.Abstrak: Kesiapan pernikahan menjadi aspek krusial dalam membentuk fondasi kehidupan berumah tangga. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pemahaman mahasiswa terhadap konsep kesiapan pernikahan, dengan memperhatikan latar belakang masalah yang melibatkan perubahan nilai sosial, tekanan akademis, pengaruh lingkungan sosial, dan dampak media massa. Penelitian dilakukan secara kualitatif dengan menggunakan wawancara mendalam dan analisis konten terhadap tanggapan mahasiswa terkait kesiapan pernikahan. Sampel dipilih secara purposive, melibatkan mahasiswa dari berbagai latar belakang dan pengalaman. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi pemahaman mahasiswa terhadap kesiapan pernikahan dan mengeksplorasi perspektif mereka terkait nilai-nilai, tekanan akademis, lingkungan sosial, dan media massa dalam konteks pernikahan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perubahan nilai sosial, akademis, pengaruh lingkungan sosial, dan media massa secara signifikan memengaruhi pemahaman mahasiswa terhadap kesiapan pernikahan. Implikasi dari temuan ini dapat digunakan sebagai dasar untuk merancang program pendidikan yang relevan dan dukungan psikososial bagi mahasiswa, sehingga mereka dapat memahami dan menghadapi pernikahan dengan persiapan yang matang. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi pada pemahaman mendalam tentang faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi pandangan mahasiswa terhadap pernikahan di era kontemporer.

Abstract

Burnout, sebuah fenomena yang terus menjadi fokus perhatian hingga saat ini, menunjukkan kompleksitas yang semakin meningkat dengan beragam kondisi penyebabnya. Studi ini, dengan mengadopsi metode systematic literature review dan mengkaji 23 artikel dari jurnal Scopus kategori Q1-Q3, secara rinci mengklasifikasikan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi Burnout berdasarkan bidang pekerjaan.. Hasil yang diperoleh yaitu faktor yang paling mempengaruhi pada bidang medis adalah kelebihan beban kerja, ketidakmampuan untuk work-life balance, kurangnya otonomi, kurangnya penghargaan dari pasien dan staf medis lainnya, dan kurangnya tidur. Sementara itu, di bidang pendidikan, terutama di lingkungan sekolah, kurangnya dukungan sosial diidentifikasi sebagai faktor dominan yang menyebabkan Burnout. Disisi lain berdasarkan jenis kelamin, yang paling banyak mengalami Burnout adalah perempuan dibandingkan laki-laki. Dalam perspektif paradigma organik-medis mengarahkan para peneliti untuk mempelajari sifat biologis-fisik manusia yang berkaitan dengan perilaku menyimpang, karena struktur dan susunan organisme itulah yang menyebabkan munculnya perilaku, dengan demikian dibutuhkan pendekatan konseling yang tepat dalam menangani Burnout.

Abstract

Scientific research is an important element in the advancement of higher education, representing the university's commitment to teaching, research, and community service. Thesis, as the final stage of undergraduate education, requires students to compose a scholarly work as a requirement for graduation, but this process is not free from various challenges, including writing difficulties, lack of motivation, and personal constraints. Kierkegaard provides an in-depth perspective on despair by identifying several aspects, such as awareness, possibility and inevitability, imagination, relationship with God, and understanding. The purpose of this study is to find out the causes of despair of final semester students in doing their final project. The subjects in this study were final semester students of Prof. Dr. HAMKA Muhammadiyah University who were working on their thesis. The method used in this research is qualitative survey research method. The data collection techniques used in this study were interviews, observation, and documentation. The findings in this study show that students have self-awareness related to the experience of hopelessness experienced and emphasize the importance of personal responsibility in overcoming challenges. In overcoming hopelessness, UHAMKA students show diverse responses by relying on time management, social support, and maintaining spiritual relationships. In conclusion, UHAMKA students managed to overcome these challenges resiliently, supported by strong social support and deep spiritual connections, reflecting a complex personal and academic journey.
