Abstract

Indonesia is the 4th the most populous country in the world after China, India and the United States. So that the State of Indonesia is included in one of the developing countries in the world. However, in scientific publications, Indonesia ranks 48th in the world. This encourages researchers' interest in assessing the psychological condition of Indonesian students in writing, because writing skills is not only cognitive but also emotional activities. The purpose of this study was to describe the anxiety conditions of Indonesian students in writing based on gender, ethnicity, province, department, university, and writing experience. This type of research is descriptive. The research sample is 1002 respondents consisting of eight ethnic groups in Indonesia. The data in this study are 5-point Likert scale politomy data collected using the writing apprehension scale. The instrument consisted of 26 statements of general anxiety about writing, teacher writing evaluations, peer writing evaluations, and professional evaluations (e.g., publishers and magazine editors) administered online. The research data were analyzed using the Rasch model using variable maps, and subtotal specifications. The findings show that there is no difference in anxiety of male and female students in writing, students who have never written will experience more writing anxiety than students who have written. Thus, students who have written but have not finished writing a paper will also experience writing anxiety.

Abstract

This study explores the effectiveness of brief solution-focused counseling (SFBC) in reducing exam anxiety in students. Exam anxiety is one of the factors that can interfere with students' mental health and academic performance. SFBC, as a solution- and outcome-oriented approach, relies on students' internal and external resources and has been proven effective in the school context. Through techniques such as problem-free talk, magic questions, scaling questions, exclusion questions, marking minefields, and formulaic first session tasks, this study aims to identify strategies that can reduce students' exam anxiety. The method used is Systematic Literature Review (SLR) to determine the effectiveness of using SFBC in reducing students' exam anxiety. The results showed that SFBC is effective in reducing students' exam anxiety by emphasizing the development of counseling strengths and resources. The conclusion of this study is that SFBC is an efficient and effective therapeutic approach to help reduce student exam anxiety.

Abstract

This study discusses the Japanese concept of Ikigai and its relationship with subjective well-being. The concept of Ikigai has five main aspects, namely starting small, freeing yourself, harmony and continuity, joy from small things, and being present in the present place and time. This research uses qualitative methods and analyzes the content of "The Book of Ikigai" to support its findings. The results show that the concept of Ikigai can be a foundation for individuals to achieve subjective well-being in daily life. By understanding and applying the principles of Ikigai, individuals can increase self-awareness, seek harmony, find joy from small things, and be present in the present place and time, all of which can contribute to the improvement of subjective well-being. The articles also cover various aspects of the Ikigai concept, including its effects on well-being, stress management, and performance, as well as its applications in the context of education and career choices. Some articles also explore the relationship between Ikigai and subjective well-being in various populations.

Abstract

This research explores the representation of suicide in the novel Thirteen Reason Why by Jay Asher and its implications for adolescent mental health. Using a social psychology theoretical framework, this study examines the impact of book narratives on understanding and behavior of suicide. This analysis identified factors such as bullying, harassment, and social isolation as contributors to suicidal behavior. The results of this study reveal that the factors causing suicide may be related to a lack of attention to the mental health of teenagers in the surrounding environment. Additionally, it was found that problems that may seem trivial, if not treated well, become potentially fatal if not treated well. In the novel Thirteen Reason Why, it is found that defamation, bullying, sexual harassment, depression and social problems need to receive more serious attention at all levels of society, especially in the school environment. This research applies a qualitative approach method using content analysis, opening up opportunities for in-depth understanding of the issues underlying teenage suicide. Through this approach, it is hoped that more effective solutions can be found in overcoming the mental and social problems faced by teenagers in the school environment.

Abstract

Asesmen merupakan kegiatan yang sangat penting untuk dilakukan oleh Guru BK karena hasil asesmen dijadikan sebagai landasan dalam pembuatan program BK yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan siswa. Artinya asesmen dilakukan untuk mengetahui apa kebutuhan dan bagaimana kondisi siswa. Salah satu instrumen yang dapat digunakan adalah AUM PTSDL. Namun, ada beberapa hambatan yang dihadapi oleh Guru BK ketika melakukan asesmen, salah satunya pengolahan hasil assemen memerlukan waktu yang lama. Hal ini dikarenakan masih terbatasnya kemampuan dalam melakukan pengolahan data hasil assesmen secara komputerisasi. Tujuan kegiatan abdimas adalah memberikan pelatihan kepada guru BK SMP N 17 Depok tentang penggunaan aplikasi AUM PTSDL Seri SLTP dalam mengolah hasil assemen. Metode pelatihan yang digunakan adalah ceramah, tanya jawab, dan praktik. Kegiatan pelatihan ini diikuti oleh guru BK SMP N 17 Depok yang berjumlah 3 orang. Hasil pengabdian ini adalah bertambahnya pengetahuan dan kemampuan guru BK dalam menggunakan AUM PTSDL Seri SLTP secara komputerisasi.
