Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of storytelling technique using Malang mask puppets media to enhance the fairness of elementary school students’ character. The research design is true experiment with pretest-posttest one-group designs. The subject of research was ten students of grade VI Elementary School in Malang determined through the random assignment technique. Data collection instruments used questionnaires of character fairness and observation guidelines. Data analysis technique was used to test the effectiveness of the Storytelling technique using Wilcoxon test. The results of data analysis shows significant value (sig) 0.005> 0.05, which means that the hypothesis is accepted. So we can conclude that storytelling technique using a Malang mask media can improve effectively the character of fairness of grade VI elementary school students. The results of this study is useful for elementary school teachers and guidance and counseling teachers as an alternative to an effective technique to develop character fairness of elementary school students.

Abstract

Preparing for the Z generation born and growing in the 21st century is clearly different from earlier generations. The various challenges of the times existed as though demanding renewal and acceleration in all aspects of life. Including one of them is in the field of communication technologies such as smartphones. The offer of modernity given also has a negative impact that is quite alarming. One of them is the emergence of the term phubbing as an indication of Z generation addiction to the smartphone makes a teenager willing to hurt the people around him with a nonchalant and more focused on the smartphone in his hand. Meanwhile, in terms of guidance and counselling, CBT approach is an appropriate therapy and can be used by a counsellor to overcome the phubbing behaviour. With the reduction of phubbing behaviour thanks to existing efforts, it is expected that teenagers social awareness can be further improved.Keywords: Generation Z, Phubbing, Cognitive Behaviour Teraphy

Abstract

Abstract: In adolescence, adolescent to by dozens feel confronted many by change and demand quickly causing they experience of academic stress. Handling technique to overcome and reducing academic stress which selected is restructuring cognitive technique and problem based coping. Target of this research is to know do there is difference of restructuring cognitive technique and problem based coping to reduce academic stress student. Statistical analysis the used is wilcoxon signed ranks test advised of that restructuring cognitive technique and problem based coping both of the same effective to reduce academic stress student. But after analysed to use mann-whitney u-test obtained by result of that there is difference of restructuring cognitive technique and problem based coping in reduce academic stress student. Abstrak: Di masa remaja, tidak sedikit remaja merasa banyak dihadapkan oleh tuntutan dan perubahan cepat yang menyebabkan mereka mengalami stres akademik. Teknik penanganan untuk mengatasi dan mereduksi stres akademik yang dipilih adalah teknik restrukturisasi kognitif dan problem based coping. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah ada perbedaan teknik restrukturisasi kognitif dan problem based coping untuk menurunkan stres akademik siswa. Analisis statistik nonparametrik yang digunakan adalah wilcoxon signed ranks test menunjukkan bahwa teknik restrukturisasi kognitif dan problem based coping sama-sama efektif untuk menurunkan stres akademik siswa. Namun setelah dianalisis menggunakan mann-whitney u-test diperoleh hasil bahwa ada perbedaan teknik restrukturisasi kognitif dan problem based coping dalam menurunkan stres akademik siswa.

Abstract

Perilaku agresif adalah luapan emosi sebagai reaksi kegagalan remaja yang dimanifestasikan dalam kata dan sikap-perilaku. Penelitian ini ingin menguji hubungan antara perlakuan orangtua dan perilaku agresif remaja. Penelitian dilakukan atas siswa SMAN di Malang. Sampel multistage terdiri atas siswa SMA pusat kota dan pinggiran kota. Data dikumpulkan dengan inventori perilaku agresif dan inventori pola sikap orangtua. Analisis dilakukan dengan korelasi momen tangkar dan regresi umum. Ditemukan adanya hubungan yang signifikan antara pola sikap orangtua dan perilaku agresif anak (remaja). Namun pola sikap demokratis memberi sumbangan yang kecil terhadap pembentukan perilaku agresif.

Abstract

Abstract: This study was conducted to determine the improvement of students' academic engagement through the implementation of problem based-learning model in the madrasah. This study used single subject design with multiple baseline across subjects. The subjects served as intervention targets as well as the control participant. There are four students as participants. They were chosen based on both the result of subject identification through instruments of Academic Engagement Scale for Grade School Students (AES-GS) and the result of observation to students with the lowest grades. The results of the graph analysis showed the decreased behavior in baseline phase but increased in the intervention phase.Key Words: academic engagement, problem based learning, Madrasah Tsanawiyah Abstrak: Penelitian ini dilaksanakan untuk mengetahui peningkatan academic engagement siswa melalui penerapan model Problem Based Learning (PBL) di madrasah. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan eksperimen subjek tunggal dengan desain multiple baseline across subject. Subjek penelitian yang diintervensi sekaligus sebagai control participant. Jumlah subjek penelitian sebanyak empat siswa. Subjek penelitian dipilih berdasarkan hasil identifikasi subjek melalui instrumen academic engagement scale for grade school students (AES-GS) dengan perolehan hasil nilai paling rendah dan hasil observasi terhadap siswa yang menunjukkan nilai stabil rendah. Hasil analisis grafik pada kondisi baseline menunjukkan perilaku academic engagement stabil rendah, namun pada kondisi intervensi perilaku academic engagement meningkat.  Kata kunci: academic engagement,  problem based learning, Madrasah Tsanawiyah

Abstract

Abstract: Hoax information which is shared in social media has a negative impact to social media users, students in this case are such to be high category users, so it is very risk to face a hoax information impacts. This research & development (R&D) uses Butterworth and Thwaites theory, that is developed to be a modul for high school students and be a guide books for teachers as counselling media at school. Through 9 steps, adjusted from 10 steps of Borg and Gall models, the result of this research is a critical thinking modul for hoax information at social media to the senior high school students and a guide book of a critical thinking modul for hoax information at social media to the senior high school students for the teachers, through effectiveness test.Keywords: critical thinking, social media, hoax, information, studentAbstrak: Informasi hoaks yang tersebar melalui media sosial memberikan dampak buruk bagi penggunanya, pelajar dalam hal ini masuk kategori tinggi sebagai pengguna media sosial, sehingga rawan terpapar dampak informasi hoaks. Penelitian dan pengembangan ini menggunakan teori berpikir kritis Butterworth dan Thwaites yang dikembangkan menjadi modul bagi siswa tingkat SMA dan buku panduan bagi guru BK sebagai media bimbingan di sekolah. Abstract

In this study, we present the improved artificial neural network based on cosine similarity in facial emotion recognition. We apply a shifting window that employs neural network for two concurrent processes consisting of face detection and emotional recognition. In order to prevent the slow and futile computations, non-face areas need to be filtered from neurons on each network layer, thus we propose the improved artificial neural network based on cosine similarity. Cosine similarity is employed to bypass the process of non-face areas in neural network. The accuracy of the proposed method reaches 0.84, while the accuracy of the original neural network method reaches 0.74. It can be concluded that our methods work accurately.proposed method is superior to the state-of-the-art algorithms.

Abstract

Abstract: This research examines the increase of students’ ability in working with graph. This research is conducted by involving 58 students in class X SMA Negeri 5 Malang as the subjects. Students are given kinematics learning by making models of various representations including graphics. The ability of students are assessed using multiple choice questions in graphic format. The improvement  of students’ ability is observed from the average score  pretest and posttest. The analysis shows that there is a significant increase (p = 0.00) with the results of the N-Gain calculation of 0.25 including the medium category. Students are able to change the understanding of graph after learning even though the WYSIWYG effect is still very influential on the way students interpretation graph.Abstrak: Penelitian ini mengkaji peningkatan kemampuan siswa bekerja dengan grafik. Penelitian dilakukan dengan subjek 58 siswa kelas X SMA N 5 Malang. Siswa diberikan pembelajaran kinematika dengan membuat model berbagai representasi termasuk grafik. Kemampuan siswa diukur menggunakan soal-soal multiple choice dalam format grafik. Peningkatan kemampuan siswa ditinjau dari skor rata-rata pretest  dan posttest. Analisis menunjukkan ada peningkatan signifikan (p=0,000) dengan hasil perhitungan N-Gain sebesar 0,25 termasuk kategori sedang. Siswa mampu mengubah pemahaman tentang grafik setelah pembelajaran meskipun efek WYSIWYG masih sangat berpengaruh pada cara siswa menginterpretasikan grafik.

Abstract

Preparing a counselor candidate as a reflective practitioner is essential. This can be completed through practicing creative thinking skill in a learning activity. In this case, various learning activities are available for practicing creative thinking skill, one of which is analogy model. Analogy model is conducted through Class Action Research of which purpose is to improve both counseling learning process and practice with the guide of the learning scenarios. The data obtained is then analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. The result shows that analogy model can help the counselor candidate to develop his creative thinking skill.Penyiapan diri calon konselor sebagai seorang reflective practitioner sangat penting. Penyiapan dilakukan dengan melatih keterampilan berpikir kreatif dalam kegiatan pembelajaran yang mencakup tiga keterampilan, yaitu sintetik, analitik, dan praktikal. Berbagai model pembelajaran digunakan untuk melatih keterampilan berpikir kreatif salah satunya model analogi. Model analogi dilakukan melalui penelitian tindakan kelas dengan tujuan memperbaiki proses pembelajaran dan praktik konseling. Penelitian tindakan ini berlangsung dalam dua siklus dengan panduan skenario pembelajaran. Data dari hasil penelitian tindakan dianalisis secara kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Penelitian tindakan ini menunjukkan bahwa model analogi membantu calon konselor mengembangkan keterampilan berpikir kreatif dalam proses pembelajaran dan praktik konseling.
