Abstract

Model pembelajaran terbarukan yang memungkinkan siswa untuk ikut andil dalam proses pembelajaran. Problem Based Learning atau PBI adalah model pembelajaran berbasis masalah dengan pola yang lebih terstruktur dan terarah. Penelitian ini fokus pada penerapan model pembelajaran PBI terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar siswa kelas XII IPS 2 untuk materi modernisasi dan globalisasi pada mata pelajaran sosiologi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan disini adalah deskriptif analisis, dimana untuk metode ini, peneliti lebih diarahkan untuk memberi gambaran atas setiap hasil penelitian yang diperoleh. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XII IPS 2 yang berjumlah 39 siswa dan memiliki rata-rata nilai sosiologi yang rendah. Kelas XII IPS 2 sendiri memiliki rata-rata nilai 59,8 untuk materi mondernisasi dan globalisasi. Kemudian, pada siklus I yang merupakan siklus lanjutan, nilai rata-rata tersebut meningkat menjadi 75,3 dan kembali meningkat hingga angka 82,5. Di luar daripada hasil di atas, kelas tersebut juga secara riil dan terbukti mampu lulus hingga 100% pasca penerapan PBI di pembelajaran siklus II. Dengan kata lain, secara signifikan, model pembelajaran PBI secara umum dapat memberi pengaruh yang cukup baik terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar siswa kelas XII IPS 2 SMA Negeri 1 Astanajapura pada tahun pelajaran 2016/2017.

Abstract

Purpose: This community service activity aims to provide training for MSMEs in Bandar Lampung regarding risk management in business development, business licensing procedures, and IPR registration as well as bridging free legal aid institutions for MSMEs who need legal assistance. Methodology/approach: This community service activity is conducted in the form of training related to legal literacy for MSMEs in Bandar Lampung. Results/findings: The pre-test and post-test showed that the participants' knowledge before socialization was 57%, and increased by 19%, that is, 76%. In this way, partners are more aware of the importance of having a business license and mitigating risks in running a business, as well as other benefits, such as securing legal protection and running business operations safely. In addition, it can make it easier to develop your business, such as collaborating with other business actors, and making it easier to export and import products. Limitation: The limitation of this community service activity is that it looks into the problem faced by MSMEs in Bandar Lampung, which does not have a business license to run the business. Contribution: Partners gain a better understanding of the legal problems and solutions for MSMEs, such as how to make it easier to borrow funds from banks. Other benefits include the provision of business assistance by the government.

Abstract

English has been introduced and studied from an early age till University because it is still introductory, so students are certainly not proficient in communicating with that language. The problem raised in this study is why is the level of student's English proficiency in FTIKOM semester 2 IBN 2022/2023 academic year low? How to increase student motivation in learning English? And what learning strategies can influence student learning motivation in English courses? In this study, researchers used a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. The conclusions in this study are (1) The low level of understanding and learning motivation of FTIKOM students in semester 2 of IBN for the 2022/2023 academic year is caused by first, English is not a favorite subject. Second, the effect of the Covid 19 pandemic which requires students to study at home, and only online. Online learning in district areas cannot be implemented optimally. Therefore, high school graduates who currently occupy lecture seats in semester 2 have low English skills and lack motivation to study. (2) In this study it was found that the use of YouTube social media can increase the learning motivation of FTIKOM faculty students in semester 2 of IBN for the 2022-2023 academic year. (3) Learning strategies using YouTube social media can affect student learning motivation in English courses because learning content from YouTube has a relatively long duration of explanation compared to English learning content on other social media, as well as students can replay the learning video to understand the material.

Abstract

Educators and education staff have the same role and task, namely carrying out various activities that lead to the creation of convenience and success for students in learning. The role of educators in facilitating school administration is very important because they have great duties and responsibilities for the smooth running of teaching and learning activities in schools. Every school requires skilled, reliable educators, and understand the job description. The formulation of the problem in this paper is first, what is included in school administration? Second, what is the role of education personnel in school administration? The purpose of this study is to increase understanding of the concept of school administration and the professional ethics of education personnel in school administration. This study uses a qualitative method with a library research approach. Data collection techniques by taking data in the library, reading, taking notes, and processing research material. Based on the results of the data analysis, several conclusions were found as follows regarding matters covered in school administration, namely 1. Curriculum Administration, 2. Student Administration, 3. Infrastructure Administration, 4. Financial Administration and 5. Public Relations Administration. The role of education personnel in school administration is to play an active role in quality service efforts, and the formation of professional human resources in the field of school development and administration. Abstract

Purpose: To provide knowledge and advocate the Purworejo community for the importance of digital marketing and the availability of adequate facilities to implement it, helping to market their products online and develop their businesses to achieve maximum profit. Additionally, it aims to enable them to withstand market competition. Methodology: The focus group discussion (FGD) approach was used to conduct FGDs with business stakeholders in Purworejo village to discuss, exchange ideas, and formulate better business development steps. Training and Mentoring are also implemented for business stakeholders in BUMDES and SMEs to enhance managerial and marketing skills. Results: The research results indicate the success of educational activities in enhancing participants' knowledge and understanding of digital marketing and content. Although there is still room for improvement, this education has shown a positive impact on equipping participants with relevant skills and insights in the era of digital marketing and Industry 4.0 revolution. Limitations: The limitation of this service lies in the participants' infrastructure, in which each participant is not proficient in using digital tools. Furthermore, this service's limitation is only focused on the conventional-to-digital transition process and content creation, without delving deeper into monitoring the development of targeted Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes). The hope for the future is to continuously enhance and optimize this educational program to support the development of participants in facing the challenges of an increasingly digital and competitive business world. Contribution: This service is beneficial to the community, as it assists Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (UMKM) and Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) in harnessing digital media in the region, unlocking its potential to enhance family income and boost the local economy.

Abstract

Purpose: One of the most important aspects of creating professional human resources in a company is the recruitment process, in which the company selects the right candidates with the skills and qualifications needed by the company. Applicants who come from college graduates must be able to adapt and be competitive to enter the world of work, and must know and understand how to format a CV that can meet company standards. In line with this, this community service activity aims to provide training in making CVs in English based on the Application Tracking System (ATS). Methodology/approach: The method used was to conduct training in making Curriculum Vitae in English based on the Application Tracking System. Results: The results of this Community Service activity showed that participants experienced increased knowledge regarding how to write a good and appropriate CV based on the Applicant Tracking Platform. Thus, with this job application preparation training, participants can be confident and have a greater opportunity to be superior to their competitors during file selection during the job application process. Limitations: This community service activity cannot identify problems or weaknesses in documents or job application files such as CVs. This training activity contributes to the community, especially students, alumni, and graduates in Bandar Lampung, who are in the process of looking for jobs to broaden their insight and improve their soft skills in writing ideal CVs, and are ATS-friendly so that they have more opportunities to get work and compete for targeted jobs. Contribution: By carrying out community service activities at the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Lampung, in 2023, it can be concluded that this training activity ran well and improved community skills in writing English CVs based on the Application Tracking System, which is different from the CV they used before participating in this training activity.from the CV they used before participating this training activity.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate how the English is used in the business workplace. The researcher used a quantitative and descriptive qualitative method. The data used in this study are from open-ended questionnaire to the employees working in economics and business. The results showed that of the 17 worker participants, 11 participants (36.67%) thought that reading was most useful in the workplace, such as analyzing or auditing financial reports, preparing documents and calculating bills, operating software and understanding documents of export and import goods, processing data on a computer, using applications related to data calculation input, studying information about international bank rules, reading journals, opening current and personal savings accounts, reading financial reports, and other activities. Meanwhile, 9 participants (30%) agreed that speaking skills are often used in the workplace. The speaking activity is serving customers from various countries, being interviewed in the recruitment process. Listening skills were obtained by 5 participants (16.67%), which mean that they are rarely applied by the participants. In applying Listening skills, participants use them in understanding conversations. There were 5 participants (16.67%) who chose writing such as answering emails, writing essays, opening checking accounts, and saving savings, making financial reports. The result also reflects the workers’ learning experiences while learning English in the colleges that show several topic discussion they learnt such as Introduction, and general English, the topics about finance/ accounting, financial reports, venture capital, stocks and bonds, which are usually useful in meetings with foreign principals or other employees and the supervisor, writing, reading, discussion, communication, vocabularies, determination of the stock price index, management, recruitment, accounting, financial statement, Learn accounting in English and also conversation is very useful at work, and vocabularies about accounts related to financial statements. In addition, other participants responded that English learnt on campus and applied at work are different. Not all English skills are applied in the respondents' workplace, only reading is used most often. In term of English needs in the workplace, the professionals also need Speaking skills and English terms in the business context.

Abstract

Purpose: The primary objective of this service was to enhance the English language communication skills of the officials in Purworejo Village, District Negeri Katon, Pesawaran Regency. This improvement aims to support the creation of higher-quality, efficient, and responsive public services in the context of globalization. Methodology/approach: The training utilized interactive methods, including lectures, discussions, and practical exercises. Tools used included pre-tests and post-tests to evaluate participants' knowledge and skills. The approach involved a systematic process: preparation (coordination and logistics), execution (delivery of training content by experts), and feedback (assessment through testing). Results/findings: The training program significantly improved 30 participants' English language proficiency, as evidenced by a marked increase in post-test scores compared to pre-test results. Participants' average scores improved by 20 points, demonstrating a substantial enhancement in their speaking skills. This improvement also translated into greater confidence in using English in professional contexts. Limitations: The training program was limited by its short duration, which may not have allowed for deep mastery of English. Additionally, the group setting may not have addressed individual learning needs, and the assessments focused on immediate progress rather than long-term retention and practical application of skills. Contribution: The service successfully achieved its goal of enhancing English communication skills among the village officials. The interactive and practical approach to training proved effective in improving language proficiency and confidence. This initiative not only better equips the officials to meet the demands of globalization but also enhances the overall quality of public service in their community.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis kebutuhan bahasa Inggris pada mahasiswa Akuntansi di perguruan tinggi, dan mengetahui kesesuaian pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris Bisnis di Jurusan Akuntansi Fakultas Ekonomi dan Bisnis dengan kebutuhan mahasiswa baik kebutuhan Bahasa Inggris untuk keperluan akademik (English for Academic Purposes (EAP) maupun Bahasa Inggris untuk keperluan bekerja/ English for Work Purposes (English for Occupational Purposes / EOP). Penelitian ini menggunakan sampel primer berupa buku teks dan RPS Bahasa Inggris for Business.Selain itu, sampel sekunder yang digunakan adalah angket dan wawancara dengan siswa, alumni, dan pengajar Bahasa Inggris. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Data dianalisis menggunakan konsep analisis kebutuhan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dalam dunia kerja bidang akuntansi keterampilan yang paling dominan dibutuhkan adalah keterampilan membaca, Kemudian materi ajar bahasa inggris yang diajarkan pada mahasiswa Akuntansi kurang berkorelasi dengan kebutuhan akademik dan dunia kerja. Hasil analisis kebutuhan pada penelitian ini selanjutnya akan digunakan sebagai bahan/acuan untuk pengembangan bahan ajar dan pengajaran bahasa Inggris Bisnis sehingga target pengajaran dapat terlaksana lebih tepat sasaran.Need analysis for business English learning for accounting studentsThis study aims to analyze the English language needs of accounting students at universities and determine the suitability of learning Business English in the Accounting Department, Faculty of Economics and Business with the needs of students in both English for Academic Purposes (EAP) and English for academic purposes. English for Work Purposes (English for Occupational Purposes / EOP). This study used primary samples in the form of textbooks and English lesson plans for Business. In addition, secondary samples used were questionnaires and interviews with students, alumni, and language teachers. English. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method. The data is analyzed using the concept of needs analysis. The results showed that in the world of work in the accounting field the most dominant skill needed was reading skills. Then the English teaching materials taught to accounting students were less correlated with academic needs and the world of work. The results of the needs analysis in this study will then be used as material/reference for the development of teaching and teaching materials for Business English so that teaching targets can be carried out more precisely.
