Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh jarak antar sirip, laju aliran dalam, dan laju aliran luar terhadap koefisien perpindahan kalor menyeluruh pada alat penukar kalor pipa ganda. Penelitian ini menggunakan dua pipa, yaitu pipa tembaga 1/2 inch yang dialiri air panas dan pipa alumunium 1 inch yang dialiri air dingin. Populasi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pipa bersirip enam jarum dengan variasi jarak antar sirip 10 mm, 15 mm, dan 20 mm, variasi laju aliran dalam 0,06 lt/dt, 0,08 lt/dt, 0,1 lt/dt, dan laju aliran luar 0,07 lt/dt, 0,1 lt/dt, 0,13 lt/dt. Hasil penelitian menunjukan ada perbedaan nilai perpindahan kalor dari masing-masing variasi, antara variasi jarak antar sirip, laju lairan dalam, dan laju lairan luar. Koefisien perpindahan kalor paling rendah terjadi pada interaksi pipa tanpa sirip, laju aliran dalam 0,06 lt/dt, dan laju aliran luar 0,07 lt/dt, yaitu sebesar 890,74 W/m2ËšC. Sedangkan koefisien perpindahan kalor paling tinggi terjadi pada interaksi jarak antar sirip 15 mm, laju aliran dalam 0,1 lt/dt, dan laju aliran luar 0,13 lt/dt yaitu sebesar 1784,84 W/m2ËšC.

Abstract

PT. Pindo Deli is a national company that produces paper, which is located in Kutamekar Village BTB6/9, Karawang Regency, West Java. It produces various types of paper with a market share of 60% for exports and 40% for domestic. The condition of the Covid-19 pandemic also has an impact on the marketing and sales of paper, namely a decrease in the number of requests from the export and domestic markets. This condition certainly has affected the marketing department because it is still determined to be able to sell paper to the market. Job as marketing tend to have a high risk of mental workload, because they are required to always involve the brain's performance in completing their work. The purpose of this study is to measure the level of mental workload in the marketing department at the manager level, namely the regional managers and product managers in meeting their job demands, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic. The method used to measure the mental workload of managers is NASA TLX method. From the research results, it is found that 42% of manager had a high level of mental workload and the remaining 58% were in the very high category.

Abstract

This study discusses the analysis of a pressure vessel's design in the Radiator Cooling 1000 (RC-1000) system, which operates at a design temperature of 110oC. A pressure vessel is a container of gaseous, solid, or liquid material subjected to internal or external pressure and can withstand various other load variations. The pressure vessel on the RC-1000 system has a outer diameter of 87.8 mm or 3.46 inches and will experience an internal pressure of about 20.84 psi or 143.7 kPa, so it must be designed safely. This research method uses analytical and experimental methods. The analytical method is used to calculate the thickness of the pressure vessel material, the maximum allowable working pressure, and the hydrostatic test calculation. While the experimental method was carried out on the hydrostatic test process, the evaluation was based on the prevailing regulations in the Republic of Indonesia. Using the SPCC-SD material (JIS 3141), it was found that the minimum thickness of this pressure vessel is 0.0453 inches on the shell side and 0.0435 inches on the head/head side. The thickness of the material used on the shell side and head/head is 0.0472 inches in practice. This pressure vessel has passed the hydrostatic test at 232.1 psi or 1600 kPa.

Abstract

Stress can be interpreted as psychological pressure that can cause both physical and mental illness. Stress on students can be anxious or tense that occurs in lectures, work assignments and other academic activities. Stress can influence students in completing their studies. This study aims to determine differences in stress levels between students in 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018 Industrial Engineering Study Program, University of Buana Perjuangan Karawang in 2019. This research method is an observational analytic study with approach cross sectional. Data was obtained by distributing questionnaires to 90 student respondents who were divided proportionally per class by following the Slovin formula used was sampling technique simple random sampling. The. This study used the HSE questionnaire instrument, the data were analyzed statistically with the Independent T-test and Anova, as well as the correlation test with the method Point-biserial Correlation from Pearson and Spearmen's Rho. From the results of this study there are differences in stress levels between students in 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018, where students in 2015 tend to be low stressed by 50.0%, while the classes of 2016, 2017 and 2018 tend to be moderate stress with a percentage of 55,6%; 65.4%; and 64.7%. Sex, age and work status of students do not affect stress levels, and do not have a significant relationship with stress levels.

Abstract

The pulp and paper industry is one of the industries that significantly contributes to the national economy. Indonesia has at least 103 companies in the paper industry sector, with a total paper production capacity of 18.26 million tons per year. The industry has employed 1.36 million workers and generated exports worth USD 7.5 billion in 2021. The paper industry is not only categorized as a labor-intensive industry but also as a high-risk industry. This study aims to analyze the safety climate in the production department of the paper industry in West Java Province, Indonesia. This study involved the participation of 366 individuals in different roles, including managers, supervisors, leaders, officers, and operators, who were interviewed and asked to complete a questionnaire using the NOSACQ-50 method. The NOSACQ-50 method consists of 7 dimensions of safety climate. The results show that all safety climate dimensions scored between 3.38-3.77, which is a perfect level that needs to be maintained and continuously improved. The safety climate score of the paper industry in Indonesia has a similar pattern to the previous research results released by Nordic on its official website but with higher values. The results of this study are consistent with previous research, which posits safety climate as a homogeneous shared perception characteristic of an organization's safety culture.

Abstract

The deep drawing is a complex steel forming method involving blank dimensions, dimension/height ratio (D/H ratio), and clearance between die and punch (D/P allowance). Failure to identify proper blank dimensions and D/H ratio can lead to production defects such as tears, while failure to recognize the correct clearance can cause wrinkles. This article discusses technology dissemination to Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) for the deep drawing process in producing R-ornament components #3D40x40, considering these crucial parameters. R-ornament #3D40x40 was manufactured using SPCC-SD material with a thickness of 0.65 mm. The Participatory Action Research (PAR) method was employed to collaboratively optimize blank dimensions, D/H ratio, and dies/punch (D/P) allowance with partners. The optimization of blank dimensions successfully eliminated the need for the trimming process, resulting in reduced investment costs in dies and die setup by IDR 15 million and 2.16 million, respectively. Identifying a D/H ratio of 1.32 successfully eliminated tear defects and determining a D/P allowance of 0.87 mm on each side eradicated wrinkle defects in the product. This article contributes to Goal 9 of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically focusing on the Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) sector.

Abstract

Workload is one of the things that greatly influences the product results in the tofu manufacturing industry of UMKM Tahu NR, which has 6 employees. At the beginning of the survey, it was indicated that there were problems experienced by UMKM in the implementation of tofu production, namely low employee work productivity, which resulted in delays in the completion of tofu production; consumer demand was also delayed due to the high workload experienced by the Operator. This study aimed to analyze the workload experienced by the UMKM Tahu NR Operator. This study applies the Work Load Analysis (WLA) and Work Sampling methods to determine the workload and the optimal number of workers. From the study results, the total excess workload of operators was 116%. One of the factors was due to a poor work environment, with an atmospheric level of 7 points in the ILO table, from the results of dividing the total workload and the total number of operators, the optimal number of workers for UMKM Tahu NR was 8 production operators with a workload of 87%. Keywords: Work Load, Work Load Analysis, Work Sampling, Optimal Workforce, Employee Productivity

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang dan mengembangkan desain kemasan keripik singkong dengan menggunakan metode kansei engineering, untuk meningkatkan kualitas kemasan yang masih sederhana. Proses evaluasi melibatkan 10 sampel desain dan 10 kata kansei yang dianalisis melalui kuesioner semantic differential. Data yang diperoleh diolah menggunakan software RStudio dan dianalisis dengan metode Quantification Theory Type 1 (QTT1). Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa faktor-faktor utama yang mempengaruhi persepsi kansei responden terhadap desain kemasan meliputi bahan kertas (X1.2), ukuran besar (X2.2), dan desain simpel (X3.2). Desain akhir yang dihasilkan merupakan kombinasi dari kategori-kategori tersebut, yang diharapkan dapat meningkatkan daya tarik dan kualitas kemasan keripik singkong. Penelitian ini juga memberikan rekomendasi untuk pengembangan desain kemasan lebih lanjut dan mengusulkan penggunaan metode kansei engineering dalam produk-produk lain untuk menyesuaikan desain dengan preferensi emosional konsumen. Kata Kunci: kansei engineering, kemasan, keripik singkong.

Abstract

Workshop peningkatan skor TOEFL bagi mahasiswa Asrama Kujang merupakan program pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang bertujuan untuk membantu mahasiswa mencapai skor TOEFL yang memenuhi syarat kelulusan. Kegiatan ini dilatarbelakangi oleh tingginya kebutuhan mahasiswa terhadap sertifikat TOEFL dengan skor yang memadai sebagai salah satu syarat wajib kelulusan di berbagai program studi di universitas yang ada di Yogyakarta. Workshop ini dirancang untuk memberikan bimbingan intensif, materi pembelajaran yang terstruktur, serta strategi efektif dalam menghadapi tes TOEFL. Metode yang digunakan dalam workshop ini meliputi sesi pengajaran teori, latihan soal, simulasi tes, dan evaluasi berkala. Para peserta juga diberikan akses ke berbagai sumber belajar dan tes praktek TOEFL untuk meningkatkan keterampilan mereka secara mandiri. Instruktur dalam kegiatan ini adalah dosen-dosen berpengalaman dan ahli bahasa Inggris yang memiliki kompetensi tinggi dalam pengajaran TOEFL. Hasil dari pelaksanaan workshop ini menunjukkan peningkatan yang signifikan dalam skor TOEFL mahasiswa, yang ditunjukkan oleh data pre-test dan post-test. Selain itu, para peserta juga melaporkan peningkatan kepercayaan diri dan pemahaman yang lebih baik mengenai format dan strategi tes TOEFL. Dengan adanya program ini, diharapkan mahasiswa yang ada diasrama Kujang Yogyakarta dapat lebih siap dalam memenuhi persyaratan kelulusan dan menghadapi tantangan akademik di tingkat yang lebih tinggi.

Abstract

The use of press machines in stamping is an important aspect of the manufacturing industry, especially in producing efficient and quality components. This article aims to analyze the cost of the stamping process using mild steel SPCC-SD material measuring 200 mm x 25 mm x 0.8 mm, using two types of press machines, namely 80 tons and 40 tons. Through the cost analysis method, the total cost of the stamping process for the 80-ton press machine is Rp 16,417.4 per 10 pcs, while for the 40-ton press machine, it is Rp 15,028.5, indicating the cost efficiency of the 40-ton press machine is around 8.5%. The tonnage calculation shows that the 40-ton press machine is adequate for the blanking process, with a tonnage requirement of 4 tons, far below the available capacity. These results provide recommendations for the use of 40-ton press machines in the production of steel components on a small to medium scale, considering cost efficiency and optimal performance. This work is expected to increase productivity and cost efficiency in the manufacturing industry, especially at PT GA.
