Abstract

Most of students feel bored in learning to write, one of the reasons is because the teaching and learning process still uses the teacher centered method. Thus, with the decline in learning achievement in writing, it seems that writing is difficult and boring. Therefore, the researcher used the picture guessing game media as a solution to the problem. The puposes in this study are to know the students’ before and after being taught using picture guessing game and to know the significant effect of using picture guessing games on students' writing skills at class 7D MTs Salafiyah Syafiiyah. The findings in this study are The student's score before being taught picture guessing game is still low and is included in the Enough score qualification. Then, the posttest scores of students after being taught the picture guessing game got an increase and were included in the qualification of good scores. The data shows that sig. (2-tailed) was 0.000. It was lower than 0.05. The results of these calculations mean that there is a significant effective of students' writing skills using the picture- guessing game. Thus, it can be concluded that the picture-guessing game is effective in teaching students' writing skills. So, it is strongly recommended for the teacher to use this media in writing class.

Abstract

This study aims to find out the difference and the similarity vocabulary between Indonesia Language and Pattani Malay used by Thai students studying in Indonesia. This research method is descriptive qualitative. The source of research data is speech in the form of sentences or words spoken by Thai Students studying in Indonesia. This research data collection technique is a technique of listening to conversations, recordings, recordings, and interviews, most recently analyzing them. Data analysis techniques using contrastive analysis methods. The results of this study are three, first, the breadth of Indonesia Language is wider than Pattani Malay. Second, some words in Indonesian and Pattani Malay have the same meaning as the same voice and speech as vocabulary in both languages. Third, some Indonesian words and Pattani Malay language that have very different meanings although in terms of the same designation.

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of using the Pyramid Board Game as a medium to improve students’ writing skills. A quasi-experimental method was used involving 60 students of MTs Salafiyah Syafi’iyah Seblak in Kwaron Tebuireng Cukir Jombang in the 2023/2024 academic year. The sample was divided into two groups: the experimental class taught using the Pyramid Board Game and the control class taught using picture series. Writing tests were given in pre-test and post-test stages. The result showed a significant improvement in the experimental class with a mean post-test score of 79 compared to 59.5 in the pre-test, while the control class improved from 60 to 71.3. The independent sample t-test revealed a significance value of 0.005 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant difference between both groups. The use of Pyramid Board Game is successfully engaged students and improved their writing abilities in grammar, vocabulary, and sentence structure.
