Abstract

Learning in Indonesia is conducted by applying the classical system, also known as face-to-face learning. However, during the COVID-19 pandemic, everyone was required to shift to online learning, including in elementary schools. This research utilized a quantitative approach, specifically a quantitative correlational method. The samples were collected using the Problem Examination procedure with a regular randomized examination strategy (Methodical Irregular Examining). From a population of 160 students, 32 samples were obtained. The results of this study showed that: (1) The mean scores obtained were 3.94, 3.91, and 3.94; (2) Parental participation had a direct effect on students’ learning achievement in Kecamatan Singkut, with a score of 6.013 > 2.048, indicating a significant influence of parental participation on learning achievement; and (3) Audio-visual media, parental participation, and learning motivation contributed 57.8% to learning achievement, based on the effective contribution value of each variable used in the study, while the remaining 42.2% was influenced by other variables not included in this research.

Abstract

This study examines the history of IsIamic education poIicy in lndonesia, focusing on three important periods: the OId Order, the New Order, and the Reformation. IsIamic education is a crucial pillar of national development, serving not onIy as a means of transmitting reIigious teachings but aIso as an instrument for shaping national character and identity. This study employs a quaIitative approach with Iibrary research, analyzing policy documents, laws, and relevant scientific literature. The results indicate that during the Old Order, Islamic education gained formaI recognition within the nationaI education system, despite facing institutional limitations and government support. During the New Order, lsIamic education poIicy was more integrated into the nationaI education system through strengthened regulations, but at the same time, it remained under strict political control. Meanwhile, the Reformation era introduced more accommodating and democratic policies, marked by the enactment of the 2003 NationaI Education System Law, which affirmed the position of madrasahs and lsIamic boarding schooIs as an integral part of nationaI education. Thus, the development of lsIamic education policy reflects the dynamic relationship between politics, religion, and education, which continues to evolve over time.

Abstract

Objective: This research analyses graduate profile formation based on Multiple Intelligences (MI) at Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor (PMDG), addressing the persistent dichotomy between religious and secular education in Indonesia. Method: A systemic case study with 18 purposively-selected informants employed participatory observation (180+ hours), in-depth interviews, and documentation, analysed using Miles-Huberman-Saldaña and Braun-Clarke approaches with NVivo 14 software. Results: Three key findings emerged: (1) PMDG conceptualises graduate profiles by integrating Gardner's MI with tawhidi-holistic paradigms, positioning Spiritual and Moral-Character Intelligence as driving axes for seven other intelligences; (2) formation strategies comprise Total Education 24-hours, three-layer curriculum (100% religious + 100% secular), 5K Method (Modelling-Environment-Guidance-Habituation-Assignment), and five-dimensional holistic assessment; (3) impacts manifest across four multiplicative levels—individual character, institutional relevance, communal trust, and civilisational reform. Novelty: The MITH-E Model demonstrates MI theory adaptation within tawhid frameworks without losing scientific essence, providing the first comprehensive operational framework with concrete mechanisms and measurable indicators transferable to pesantren and madrasah globally.

Abstract

Abstract

Of the 225 million Muslim population in Indonesia, about 54% are categorised as not knowing the Qur'an, so about 46% know the letters and can recite the Qur'an. This study aims to analyse the use of the Tartilqu method on the ability to read the Qur'an of children of TPA Rabbani Palembang. The sample used in the study was TPA Rabbani students with a total of 20 students selected from a population of 20 students. The research data were collected by observation, oral tests and documentation. The collected data were then analysed using descriptive analysis and inferential analysis. The results showed that there was a significant effect of the use of the Tartilqu method on the ability to read the Qur'an of the students. Based on the results of the analysis output of IBM SPSS version 30, that (Sig. 2 tailed) of 0.001 <0.05 then H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, meaning that in the comparison of t count with t table, t count is greater in value than t table while the value (P-Value) is smaller than the value of 0.05 then there is a significant influence on the ability to read the Qur'an using the Tartilqu method.

Abstract

This study addresses the limited empirical explanation of how Islamic educational institutions operationalize the integration of science and Islamic values in practice. It aims to examine how excellence programs in pesantren education facilitate this integration within daily learning processes. A qualitative case study was conducted at Pesantren Nurul Islam Jember, Indonesia. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with key stakeholders (pesantren leader, madrasah head, program coordinator, teachers, mentors, and students), classroom and laboratory observations, and analysis of institutional documents. Data were analyzed using an interactive model consisting of data condensation, data display, and conclusion verification. The findings reveal that the science excellence program functions as an integrative platform through four key components: institutional commitment, reflective pedagogy, collaborative learning, and experiential activities (e.g., robotics and competition-based mentoring). These components not only improve students’ scientific competencies and academic achievements but also foster discipline, ethical awareness, and leadership within a pesantren-based learning culture. This study concludes that excellence programs provide a practical and context-specific model for integrating science and Islamic values in Islamic education. The study contributes empirically by demonstrating how institutional programs translate integrative educational ideals into everyday practices.
