Abstract

This research is entitled analysis of the ability of library science students class of 2019 in searching for information using the Google search engine. The purpose of this study was to find out how Lancang Kuning University's 2019 Library Science Students are Capable of Retrieving Information Using the Google Search Engine. The method used in this research is a quantitative descriptive method. Data collection techniques using observation, questionnaires, interviews, literature studies and documentation. The population and sample in this study amounted to 54 respondents. This study uses data analysis techniques using the Mean formula (calculated average) and the grand mean. The results of this study indicate that the ability of librarian science students class of 2019 at Lancang Kuning University in searching for information using the Google search engine is in the good category with an average value of 3.93 on an interval scale of 3.20-4.20. The author suggests that Library Science Students Class of 2019 at Lancang Kuning University increase their ability to make search statements when accessing information on the Google search engine and evaluate search results so that the information obtained is in accordance with needs.

Abstract

Digital archives of manuscripts or digital manuscripts that are the object of this research are manuscripts from the Sang Nila Utama Museum collection, Pekanbaru. The entire collection has 69 manuscripts, and most of the manuscripts have been restored and italized. Currently, all existing digital manuscripts have not been fully processed and identified. On the other hand, the public is still not able to easily access the manuscripts, because of fears of being damaged and so on. The purpose of this study is to classify the digital manuscripts of the Sang Nila Utama Museum and create a database in the form of a digital manuscript repository for the Sang Nila Utama Museum. This research was conducted at the Sang Nila Utama Museum with a total sample of 70 digital manuscripts. The method used in this research is the observatory method to obtain data in the form of digital manuscripts which will later be used to design information systems and create a digital manuscript repository for the Sang Nila Utama Museum.

Abstract

The library has a strategic role in supporting learning and research at Al-Ittihad School. SWOT analysis is carried out to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and challenges. In terms of deficiencies, libraries face the problem of dust on bookshelves, lack of preservation, limited warehouse space, shortage of librarians. However, libraries have advantages such as attractive interior designs, comfortable rooms, and facilities such as sofa chairs, study tables, computers, and well-maintained book collections. The presence of CCTV, lockers, good bookkeeping and textbooks are an added value. The SWOT analysis identified development opportunities, including interior design appeal, expansion of computer use, and potential for community events.  The challenges required thoughtful solutions, including regular cleaning, preservation programs, optimization of warehouse space, additional librarian training, investment in refrigeration systems, and installation of security systems. The research method used was qualitative by conducting observations and SWOT analysis at the Al-Ittihad School Library. The library's strengths involve the use of the SLiMS application, availability of WiFi, and appropriately skilled staff. Limited budget for updating collections is one of the weaknesses, even though the level of student and teacher visits has increased. The development plan involves utilizing the latest technology, partnerships with publishers, and support for online learning. Threats come from digital platforms which can threaten the attractiveness of libraries, so libraries need to maintain their existence by creating a comfortable environment. This research aims to provide a comprehensive picture of library conditions and support better strategic planning. By understanding SWOT, libraries can identify priorities, overcome weaknesses, and optimize potential to provide better services to the community

Abstract

This research amis to evaluate the usability test repository using the Nielsen’s Attributes of Usability (NAU) model in the Muhammadiyah University of Riau Library. This type of research is descriptive with a quantitative approach. Data collection techniques were carried out by carrying out observations, distributif questionnaires, interviews and documentation.the sampel in this study amounted to 95 people from the total population. The results of this research found that the learnability indikator (user’s ease in learning/understanding smartlib) had an average value of 4,49. Efficiency indikator (user needs can be resolved accurately and completely using smartlib) with an average value of 4,42. Memorability indikator (user’s ease in remembering the smartlib system) with an average value of 4,44. The errors indikator (failure in smartlib) has an average value of 4,45, so failures can be found in the system. For this reason, there needs to be improvements in overcoming failure problems that are often found in smartlib, namely access speed, so that access failures can be reduced. Satisfaction indikator (user satisfaction with smartlib) with an average value of 4,42. Thus, it can be concluded that the usability test repository using the Nielsen’s Attributes of Usability (NAU) Model in the Smartlib Library of the Muhammadiyah University of Riau isi n the very good category with an average of 4,44 (88,8%).

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the suitability of scientific article abstract writing with the standard of abstract writing in Lancang Kuning University journals indexed by Science And Technology Index (Sinta). The research methodology is quantitative, including literature search and comparative analysis of Sinta-indexed journal abstracts. The results showed that there were 22 accredited journals with different accreditation levels, ranging from Sinta 2 to Sinta 6. All journals have writing rules or guidelines, but these rules have not been followed or obeyed properly by the authors so that there are still discrepancies in abstract writing. More than half or 78.51% of the discrepancies were caused by the use of language, then 50.12% in the use of word count and 45.30% in the use of keywords. A small proportion of discrepancies, or 12.42%, were found in writing the substance of the abstract.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of interior design on the interest of visiting library users in Tenas Effendy Library, a topic that is relevant to increasing library visits in public libraries. The purpose of this study was to determine whether the interior design of the library affects the interest of library visitors. This study used descriptive quantitative method, with data collection techniques through observation, questionnaires, and documentation. A total of 97 users were selected as samples through purposive sampling. Data analysis using T test and regression shows that there is a significant influence between interior design and interest in visiting the library, with a significance value of 0.00 <0.05, so that the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. The R square value of 0.792 indicates that interior design has an effect of 79.2% on library patron interest, while the remaining 20.8% is influenced by other factors not observed in this study. The findings suggest that interior design has an important role in increasing library visits and has important implications for library space design.

Abstract

The school library as a learning resource plays a major role in facilitating the process of strengthening student literacy. To strengthen the role and quality of libraries, school libraries are currently required to fulfill 9 accreditation components including: (1) Library Collection; (2) Library Facilities and Infrastructure; (3) Library Services; (4) Library Staff; (5) Library Organization; (6) Library Management; (7) Innovation and Creativity; (8) Reading Level; (9) Community Literacy Development Index. In order to provide services to its users, the library management staff of SMAN 18 Pekanbaru, intends to conduct library SNP that can help in handling routine operational activities in the library of SMAN 18 Pekanbaru. The service activities were carried out with socialization and training methods to library managers. The result of this activity is the increased understanding of library managers of the National Library Standards. In addition, the outputs achieved are as teaching materials and publications in mass media and accredited national journals.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perkembangan indeksasi jurnal yang ada di Universitas Lancang Kuning dengan cara menghitung jenis lembaga pengindeks dan  menghitung jumlah indeksasi yang pada setiap jurnal. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kuantitatif dengan pendekatan kepustakaan melalui penelusuran pada URL jurnal Unilak. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa ada 38 jenis pengindeks dengan jumlah 143 lembaga pengindeks yang terdapat pada 16 jurnal.  Lima peringkat lembaga pengindeks terbanyak, pertama, Crossref dan Google Scholar yaitu 16 jurnal atau 18,83%, kedua Garuda sebanyak 11 jurnal atau 7,69%, ketiga OCLC WorldCat sebanyak 10 jurnal atau 6,99 %, keempat ada pada Bielefels Academic Search Engine (BASE) yaitu 9 jurnal atau 6,29 % dan yang kelima ada pada Science and Technology Index (Sinta) dengan jumlah 8 jurnal atau 5, 59%. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa lembaga pengindeks yang paling banyak dimiliki jurnal Unilak adalah lembaga pengindeks bereputasi rendah yaitu 95,11 %, lembaga pengindeks bereputasi sedang 4,89% dan belum memiliki lembaga pengindeks bereputasi tinggi seperti Scopus dan Thomson.

Abstract

e-DDC merupakan salah satu perkembangan teknologi dibidang perpustakaan, sehingga para pustakawan bisa dengan mudah menentukan nomor klasifikasi tanpa harus membalikkan lembar demi lembar pada buku DDC. Namun, para pustakawan haruslah paham dalam menentukan tajuk koleksi perpustakaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi klasifikasi koleksi di UPT Perpustakaan Universitas Lancang Kuning. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Deskriptif dengan pendekatan Kuantitatif. Berdasarkan hasil Evaluasi Klasifikasi Koleksi di UPT Perpustakaan Universitas Lancang Kuning pada 10 kelas utama dengan total koleksi 19471 dapat di simpulkan bahwa tingkat kesesuaian penomoran klasifikasi koleksi yang dilakukan oleh pustakawan berjumlah 19233 koleksi dengan persentase 99% dapat dikatakan sangat tinggi, sedangkan ketidak sesuaian berjumlah 238 koleksi dengan persentase 1% dapat dikatakan sangat rendah.

Abstract

This research aims to find out how to cite scientific articles by Lancang Kuning University lecturers in online journals published in 2019-2021. The research method used is descriptive quantitative research. The data collection techniques using observation, documentation and literature study. The results of the study show that the total number of articles opened was 2,340 articles, the number of articles in 2019 opened with 611 articles, the number of articles in 2020 opened with 811 articles, and the number of articles in 2021 which opened 918 articles. The highest number of articles per faculty is from the Faculty of Engineering with a total of 440 articles, while the lowest number of articles is from Postgraduate with a total of 82 articles. The number of articles cited was 761 articles and the number of articles that were not cited was 1,579 articles, while the number of articles cited was opened 2,479 citations. The highest number of articles cited was in 2019 with a total of 311 articles and the lowest number of articles in 2021 was 152 articles. and 5 subject articles that are frequently cited, namely the first with the subject of Sales Information Systems 101 citations. The second with the subject Indonesian Throughflow obtained 45 citations. Third, with the subject of Training which was opened in 2020, four with the subject of K-Means Alghoritm recording 31 citations, and the fifth with the subject of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) with a total of 27 citations.
