Endogamy or marriage in family clumps or known as in-marriage is one way to maintain kinship relations in Bugis society. The purpose of this research is to know the development of the endogamous marriage system adopted by Bugis ethnic society to the present. This research uses qualitative method with fenomenology approach. The subject of this research consisted of six pairs of husband and wife who had mixed ethnic marriages. The results showed that the contemporary Bugis extended the boundaries of endogamy, from within close and extended families (cousins) to Bugis from the same village, and eventually to ethnic Bugis generally. But over the times, technology and time have been able to erode the endogamous marriage system that was originally adopted by the Bugis ethnic society. There are several reasons that affect Bugis endogamous marriage system, such as the background of parents who choose to marry different cultures, gender (males who have more influence to determine the spouse), characters and prospective spouse's work.

Kegiatan dakwah menjadi salah satu dari sekian banyak proses komunikasi. Pada konteks ini melibatkan seorang Dai yang bertindak sebagai komunikator dalam penyampaian pesan kepada mad’u/ audiens / khalayak. Retorika menjadi strategi komunikasi yang digunakan untuk mencapai keberhasilan sebuah proses penyampaian pesan. Hal tersebut secara tidak langsung membentuk reputasi seseorang dimata publik. Aspek retorika yang kuat tentu saja mampu membangun reputasi diri (personality reputation) sehingga mampu menjadi “top of mind” di benak masyarakat dan mendapatkan pengakuan akan keberadaannya. Tujuan penulisan ini adalah memberikan gambaran mengenai pentingnya pengetahuan akan teknik retorika dan reputasi diri calon Dai dalam membangun, menciptakan dan menjaga reputasi diri sebagai penyampai pesan dakwah. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan melakukan wawancara, observasi dan studi pustaka berupa artikel ilmiah dan hasil penelitian serupa. Hasil dan kesimpulan yang ditemukan adalah terdapat beberapa hal yang menjadi indikator keberhasilan penyampaian pesan dakwah terkait teknik retorika dalam upaya menjaga reputasi diri. Indikator seperti teknik retorika yang lebih interaktif, kesesuaian dakwah dengan kebutuhan mad’u, dan lainnya. Sedangkan upaya reputasi diri dapat dilakukan dengan beberapa hal seperti disiplin waktu, memperhatikan penampilan baik pada saat tampil maupun dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, dan juga latar belakang pendidikan yang sesuai. AbstractAdjustment is one step taken by someone to be able to survive in a new place. An immigrant (nomads) make adjustments when in a new culture, and that is known as acculturation. Acculturation efforts are certainly supported by the existence of communication between immigrant and indigenous communities, both personal and social communication. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of Persona Communication and Social Communication Against Language Culture Awareness. This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods. The sampling technique is a purposive sampling technique. Data collection is done by Interview, Observation, and Literature Study. The results of this study indicate the effectiveness of communication both personal and social in nature which is quite a big influence and is carried out by overseas students from South Sulawesi to the local community in the city of Bandung. The communication carried out both persona and social has an impact on the acculturation that they do in their overseas locations. Key Words : Communication; Awareness; Regional Language.

This study aims to determine the understanding of students during the online lecture learning (online) in the quantitative research method of the KPI2 Class IAIN Parepare. Meanwhile researchers use ex post facto research design which is part of the quantitative method. As for getting data used the primary data collection techniques in the form of questionnaires and documentation. With a population of 40 KPI class students of the quantitative research method course and the sample number of 28 students. Based on the results of research that has been collected through the spread of questionnaires, (1) 60.7% of respondents answeredthat they do not like online learning, while 39.2% of them like online-based learning, (2) 71.4% agree that online courses facilitate the lecture process, while 28.5% disagree with the statement, (3) 60.7% disagree with online courses for quantitative research method courses, while 39.2% agree with the statement, (4) 57.1% agreed with the use of Zoom and WhatsApp apps, while 42.8% agreed. So it was concluded that the influence of online lectures on students' understanding in the quantitative research method courses of KPI2 classes entered the moderate category. Social media is online media that makes it easy for audiences to provide and get information, now social media has many platforms such as Facebook. Facebook has many users who can update daily and others. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of IAIN Parepare's Facebook social media in providing information to prospective new students at SMAN 3 Parepare by covering three indicators namely frequency or intensity, duration, and activity. The method used in this research is descriptive quantitative research instrument in the form of a questionnaire given to 55 research samples (respondents) 3rd grade students of SMAN 3 Parepare. The results of this study indicate the ineffectiveness of IAIN Parepare's Facebook social media in providing information for several reasons, one of which is not using Facebook to find information regarding prospective new students. It can be concluded in this study that IAIN Parepare Facebook is not effective in providing information to prospective new students at SMAN 3 Parepare.

a communication process or intercultural interaction, an immigrant conducts some activities as a self- adaptation to the local culture called acculturation. The adaptation is supported by the cultural awareness of local language that becomes the supporting factor. The research was aimed at finding out how big the influence of acculturation consisting of personal communication, social communication, communication environment, and acculturation potential toward the awareness of language culture involving knowledge, attitude, and behavior. The research used the quantitative method with the Path Analysis approach. The sampling technique used was Disproportional Stratified sampling. The data were obtained through questionnaires, interview, observation, and documentary study. The result of the research shows that there was significant influence of personal and social communication in the intercultural interaction process toward the cultural awareness of local language among the South Sulawesi students in Bandung, shown by the percentage of each factor which was: 36.8 % and 48.6 %. The research also showed that there was no significant influence of communication environment and acculturation potential in the intercultural interaction process toward the cultural awareness of local language among the South Sulawesi students in Bandung shown by the percentage of 13.3 % and 1.3 %.

Various supporting features of interpersonal communication and interaction such as chatrooms, walls, messanger, etc. make Facebook as one of the models of interpersonal mediated communication (interpersonal mediated communication). The purpose of this study is to describe the use of Facebook as a facility that facilitates friendship and personal relationships. The subject of this research is Facebook active users who utilize various Facebook features to meet new people. This study uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. The results showed that various Facebook features were able to facilitate its users in communicating both socially just friends to personal communication that led to institutional (marriage). The main task of a lecturer is to carry out the There Pillars of Higher Education which includes teaching, research and community service. Ideally, while carrying out these three pillars, lecturers should have qualified educational background to be recognized as a competent lecturer. The existence of competencies in accordance with the scientific field in carrying out the Three Pillars of Higher Education will indirectly provide an identity, distinctiveness and brand for a lecturer. The purpose of this study is to explain and describe how the implementation of the Thee Pillars including teaching, research and community service by a lecturer in terms of building uniqueness and identity through personal branding. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive approach using interview and observation techniques to several lecturers at the State Islamic Institute (IAIN) Parepare. The results of this research show that in terms of teaching, there are still lecturers who carry out teaching functions that are not in accordance with their knowledge for various reasons, which have a huge impact on the level of effort to build uniqueness (personal branding). The same thing is also found in the research function, but in this section there are several lecturers who feel that they do research not based on science but according to their passion. Not much different from teaching and research, in the function of community service, the same thing is also found. Another finding is that a lecturer conducts community service by lecturing or preaching. This phenomenon happens because of the reason that they come from an Islamic campus so they are required to do service by means of preaching.

Reputasi dan nama baik pendidik menjadi bagian penting dalam perjalanan karir seorang dosen. Mengelolah sebuah reputasi dikenal dengan istilah personal branding, sebagai upaya mengembangkan dan menakar kemampuan diri dan karir dosen secara terarah. Ditengah transformasi media digital yang begitu pesat tentu menjadi tantangan tersendiri bagi seorang dosen dalam mengelola reputasi diri yang dimiliki. Tujuan penulisan ini adalah memberikan gambaran mengenai pentingnya membangun, menciptakan dan menjaga reputasi dosen sebagai penegak tridharma perguruan tinggi melalui media digital. Metode yang digunakan adalah Kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan melakukan wawancara, observasi dan studi pustaka berupa artikel ilmiah dan hasil penelitian serupa. Hasil dan Kesimpulan yang ditemukan adalah terdapat beberapa hal yang menjadi indikator keberhasilan personal branding seorang dosen pada media digital. Selain media sosial, keberadaan akun portal publikasi akademik seperti google scholar, e-learning, repository, sinta, orchid dan lainnya menjadi sarana yang dapat dimanfaatkan oleh dosen dalam membangun dan mengelolah reputasi diri. Keberadaan artikel ini diharapkan dapat membentuk pemahaman terkait pentingnya menjaga reputasi diri dosen melalui upaya personal branding di media digital.

Communication patterns are ways of conveying messages from a communicator to communicants directly or by using tools and facilities as media. The purpose of this research is to find out the communication patterns of coaches in increasing compliance with Ma'had Al Jamiah IAIN Parepare students. This research use desciptive qualitative approach. using observation, interview and documentation data collection techniques, the informants were students and supervisors of the Ma'had Al Jamiah IAIN Parepare hostel . The results of the research included; (1) The description of student compliance shows non-compliance with programs/activities carried out by the dormitory, the form of student disobedience is not participating in learning activities optimally including not depositing Arabic and English memorization and not participating in learning programs. (2) The communication patterns used by the coach are group communication patterns using a lecture and advice approach to students of Ma'had Al-Jamiah IAIN Parepare, communication techniques like this are very important, and are able to change the mindset of students from previously only taking regulations lightly to being more understand the rules themselves. (3) Obstacles that affect student compliance, namely; obstacles due to the busyness of the campus where students do not take part in learning on the grounds of being busy outside the dormitory, and the self-awareness factor, namely self-awareness determines great motivation and willingness for students to be present in student dormitory program activities.
