Abstract

The aim of this research is to investigate the ability of multiple intelligence (MI) of male and female students from primary school. The total sample was 71 students consisting of 35 experimental group students and 36 in the control group in a primary school in Cilegon City, 2016-2017 academic year. In this study, the experimental group consisted of male students using learning with the MI and the control group consisted of female students using learning with the MI approach. Analysis of data obtained from this study, using the Independent Sample t-test and Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient. The findings of this study indicate that there is a statistically significant difference between the ability of MI in the experimental group and the control group, where the average score experimental group is higher. These results can be seen in the average score of MI ability in the experimental group is higher in visual-spatial, music, logical-mathematical, interpersonal and bodily-kinesthetic intelligence. The average score of MI ability in the control group is higher in verbal-linguistic, naturalistic, and intrapersonal. These concluded that the results of the Investigation of Multiple Intelligence (MI) of Primary School Students in the experimental group (male students) were better than the control group (female students).

Abstract

Indonesia has an unique and interesting geographical position, which is characterized by a rich variety of flora and fauna. One of the wealth of biodiversity is rare protected flower plants (Endemic Flora) where hunting and illegal trade are some of the factors that cause biodiversity to be threatened. Due to the fact that the threat and extinction of biological resources is increasing, the status of a species' scarcity is determined. Banten is known for its diversity of animals, but because there is a lack of media to introduce endangered species in Banten, the existing endangered species are not known, so they are threatened with extinction. This study aims to describe the scientific attitude of students on the theme of Protected Flora and Fauna in Banten in Augmented Reality-Based Biodiversity Learning. This type of research is quasy-experimental research with nonequivalent control group design. The study population was all second semester students majoring in Science Education who took the Biodiversity course with a purposive sampling technique. The research was carried out in the even semester of 2022/2023. Data collection techniques used non-test techniques, namely scientific attitude observation sheets and scientific attitude questionnaires. The results showed that the scientific attitude of science teacher candidates based on discussion observation sheets obtained an average score of 86.88% in the good category, while the scientific attitude based on the questionnaire obtained an average score of 78.88% in the good category. The highest scientific attitude dimension possessed by students is the dimension of respect for data or facts, while the lowest scientific attitude possessed by students is the attitude of perseverance.

Abstract

In implementing the Independent Curriculum, students must carry out and create a project through the Strengthening the Profile of Pancasila Students (P5) Project. Students can improve their skills and abilities in various fields. This research aims to determine student creativity through the Strengthening Pancasila Student Profile (P5) Project activities. This research method is qualitative with a descriptive approach. The data collection technique was through observation of P5 activities in which the author was also directly involved in P5 activities. The P5 activities carried out for class VIII are adapted to the theme set by the Ministry of Education and Culture, namely the theme "Local Wisdom of Banten". Student creativity can be seen during the implementation of P5 activities, where students will be required to be creative in making ketupat, typical Banten foods, and Pencak Silat.

Abstract

This study aims to provide an overview of the profile of students ecoliteracy skills in the context of environmental issues such as waste, forest destruction, and climate change. This type of research is descriptive qualitative to obtain information related to the level of ecoliteracy skills of fourth semester students. The sampling technique used random sampling with a total of 27 science students in batch 2022. The research instrument used is a self assessment that adapts to the assessment indicators of maintaining environmental sustainability, using energy properly and utilizing existing resources with ecological principles. The result showed that the level of ecoliteracy skills of students obtained an average percentage of 71% and was in the good category. This finding shows that most student have an understanding of ecoliteracy and are able to practice it well through actions that are oriented towards sustainability values.

Abstract

Penelitian ini didasari permasalahan mengenai alat evaluasi pada mata pelajaran IPA yang digunakan di SMP belum mengembangkan instrumen dengan semua indikator problem solving sehingga siswa belum dilatih pada kemampuan problem solving. Berdasarkan analisis masalah maka dikembangkanlah instrumen tes untuk melatih kemampuan problem solving siswa kelas VII tema mencairnya es krim. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tingkat keterbacaan siswa pada instrumen tes. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian Research and Development (RD) dengan menggunakan model pengembangan ADDIE yang dilaksanakan sampai tiga tahap, yaitu tahap Analysis, Design, dan Development pada keterbacaan instrumen tes. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk uji keterbacaan yaitu lembar angket siswa. Subjek uji keterbacaan pada penelitian ini, yaitu 46 siswa SMP kelas VII. Analisis data secara deskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai keseluruhan berdasarkan persentase rata-rata sebesar 86,78% dengan kategori “Sangat Valid” sehingga instrumen tes untuk melatih kemampuan problem solving siswa kelas VII tema mencairnya es krim dapat digunakan untuk alat evaluasi. Setelah produk direvisi, maka dilakukan reduksi soal yang memperoleh persentase keterbacaan sebesar 81,23% dengan kategori “Sangat Baik” sehingga produk instrumen tes telah memenuhi syarat uji keterbacaan dan dinilai layak untuk digunakan.

Abstract

This research was conducted to produce a valid Sparkol Videoscribe based on the ability to argue the theme of wave utilization in students' daily lives and describe student responses to Sparkol Videoscribe based on the ability to argue the theme of wave utilization in students' daily lives. The method used is the Research and Development (R&D) method. The development model used by the 4-D model has stages of define, design, and develop. The instruments used were interview questionnaires, student response questionnaires, and validation questionnaires. Data analysis is descriptive, quantitative and qualitative. The results of the learning video validation assessment were obtained from 85.20% (very valid), 81.52% (very valid), and 91.48% (very valid) science teacher validators. The results of the student response rate showed a percentage score with an average of 85.42% (strongly agree). With this, it can be concluded that Sparkol Videoscribe -based learning videos on the theme of Waves in Everyday Life can be used by students in the science learning process. Abstract

The ability to argue well is one of the important requirements in science learning. However, learning that aims to develop students' argumentation skills has not been implemented properly. One solution is to provide learning materials that contain indicators of argumentation skills. These indicators will be presented in the form of an E-Module based on Question Prompt Scaffolding. The purpose of this research and development was to test the validity and readability of the E-Module. This E-Module focuses on the theme of Nutrient Pressure on Green Plants with the aim of improving the argumentation skills of eighth-grade students. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D). The Research and Development (R&D) model is based on the ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Various instruments were used in this study, including a validation questionnaire evaluated by three experts. These experts included subject matter experts, media experts, and science teachers. Additionally, a readability questionnaire was used to measure the readability of the E-Module. The validation results showed that the E-Module achieved an average score of 86% and fell into the “Highly Valid” category. This assessment was based on the subject matter expert's score of 82%, the media expert's score of 91%, and the science teacher's score of 86%. The readability of the E-Module was determined based on students' responses and achieved a score of 94%, categorized as “Very Good.” This proves that the Science E-Module based on Question Prompt Scaffolding with the theme of Nutrient Pressure on Green Plants is considered valid by all validators.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the Climate Kids website as a learning medium on the scientific literacy skills of junior high school students on global warming material. This study was conducted at Yappida Islamic Junior High School with a sample of 30 students in each experimental class and control class. This research method used a quasi-experiment with a nonequivalent control group design. This study concluded that the use of the Climate Kids website as a learning medium had an effect on the scientific literacy skills of junior high school students regarding global warming material. The results showed that the learning process had been carried out very well. The Mann-Whitney test was used to test the hypothesis and obtained a Sig. (2-tailed) result of 0.000 (< 0.05), indicating the rejection of H₀ and acceptance of H₁, with the interpretation of a significant effect. The average pretest score of 39.87 increased to 80.47 in the posttest, indicating that the experimental class achieved an N-Gain score of 67.52% with a fairly effective criterion. The significant influence of the Climate Kids website as a learning tool on scientific literacy skills is evident from the effect size test, which yielded a result of 1.219, a high effect criterion. Furthermore, students responded very positively to the use of the Climate Kids website as a learning tool. This indicates that the Climate Kids website has a significant influence on students' scientific literacy skills.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the effectiveness of Duolingo to improve students' vocabulary mastery among junior high school students grade 8 at MTs Bustanul Aulad. Pre-experimental approach was used in this research with one group pretest-posttest before and after the use of Duolingo application. Questionnaire is also used to explore students' perspectives regarding their experiences. The participant of this research were 10 students of class 8 in Mts Bustanul Aulad. Results showed a significant improvement in vocabulary acquisition, with the mean posttest score rising from 53 to 85.5, as well as a T-test result of 0.0006 which was less than 0.05. Students also expressed positive perceptions towards the use of Duolingo, which was considered fun, interesting and useful for vocabulary development. The results of this research indicate that Duolingo is an effective language game-based application to improve vocabulary acquisition among students.
