Abstract

COVID-19 or Coronavirus Disease 2019 is a new disease that can cause respiratory problems and pneumonia caused by infection with Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). Efforts to prevent the transmission of the Covid-19 disease are very important, considering that the corona virus is easily transmitted from human to human through coughing/sneezing (droplets) and contact with sufferers. Preventive measures against COVID-19 such as washing hands, wearing masks and social distancing carried out by students can be influenced by knowledge about COVID-19 and attitudes towards preventing Covid-19. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between Knowledge and Attitudes of Students with Covid-19 Prevention Measures in the study program of 3rd Diploma of Nursing, Faculty of Medicine, Mulawarman University Research  Method: The research design is cross sectional, and the research sample is students of 3rd diploma of Nursing Study Program, Faculty of Medicine Mulawarman University, the sampling technique is a total sampling of 176 students. The research instrument is a questionnaire. Data analysis was univariate and bivariate with Chi Square test. The results of the study: The knowledge of respondents about Covid-19 was in a good category (56.5%), the attitude of the respondents was more positive (65.6%) and the majority of respondents' actions in preventing Covid-19 were in a good category (52.8%). There is a relationship between knowledge and preventive measures for Covid-19 (p.value 0.040 < 0.05), There is no relationship between student attitudes and preventive measures for Covid-19 (p.value 0.845 > 0.05).Conclusion: There is a relationship between knowledge and covid-19 prevention measures, the attitude is not related to action. There is a need for education to increase knowledge and positive attitudes in supporting COVID-19 prevention measures. Keywords: Covid-19, Knowledge, Action, attitude, students

Abstract

Background: Youth PIK is a place for reproductive health services for adolescents developed by the government in the GenRe program, which is managed by and for adolescents. This PIK youth service provides benefits by providing information and counseling services on maturing marriage age, eight family functions, TRIAD KRR (sexuality, HIV and AIDS, and NAFZA), life skills (life skills), gender and advocacy skills, and IEC. Utilization of the Adolescent Counseling Information Center is greatly influenced by the level of knowledge, reflection of adolescent attitudes, motivation from the surrounding environment, peer support, and teacher support so that the incidence of premarital sex behavior, which is bad for adolescents, can be reduced. Objective: to identify the relationship between the utilization of information and youth health centers (PIK-R) towards adolescents in terms of knowledge level, attitudes, and premarital sexual behavior. This research is also expected to bring benefits to PIK-KRR organizational managers in the campus environment by directing activities that can become part of PIK-KRR activities to improve their functions. Methods: This research is a descriptive correlation study using a cross-sectional research design and a quantitative approach with a sample of 175 respondents. The data analysis used was the Chi-Square statistical test and the Spearman test to see the strength of the relationship. Results: In the Chi-Square analysis, the results show that there is a relationship between the PIK-R utilization variables and the level of knowledge (ρ- value 0.031 < 0.05) with the category of weak relationship strength (correlation coefficient = 0.163 in the range between 0.10-0, 29) and the relationship is unidirectional. The results of the analysis of the relationship between the utilization of PIK-R variables and attitude show that there is a relationship (ρ -value 0.034 < 0.05) with the category of strength of the weak relationship (correlation coefficient = 0.160 is in the range 0.10-0.29) and the relationship is unidirectional. The results of the analysis of PIK-R utilization and premarital sex behavior showed that there was a relationship (ρ -value 0.025 < 0.05), but the relationship was not in the same direction because the correlation was negative (-0.169).Conclusion: There is a relationship between the variable utilization of information centers and youth counseling (PIK-R) and the variables of knowledge, attitude, and behavior of premarital sex in adolescents.

Abstract

Introduction: Asthma is a chronic inflammatory disease of the airways that causes intermittent and reversible airflow disturbances resulting in hyperactivity of the bronchi to various stimuli characterized by recurrent episodic symptoms in the form of wheezing), coughing, a feeling of heaviness in the chest and shortness of breath. Shortness of breath is characterized by increasing respiratory frequency. The main nursing intervention for the problem of shortness of breath is airway management and monitoring respiratory frequency by ensuring lung function is as normal as possible and maintaining it and preventing airway obstruction, one of which is by carrying out SEFT. The aim of this study was to analyze the difference in the decrease in respiratory frequency before and after SEFT. Method: This research is a quasi-experimental research with a randomized one group pretest-posttest design approach. Sampling was carried out using simple random sampling based on inclusion criteria. Data analysis used the alternative Wilcoxon test with α 0.05. The total research sample was 100 respondents using random sampling techniques. Results: There were 94 respondents whose respiratory frequency value after SEFT was smaller than the respiratory frequency before SEFT, 2 respondents whose respiratory frequency value after SEFT was greater than the respiratory frequency value before SEFT and 4 respondents whose values were the same before and after SEFT. The statistical test results showed that p < (0.05), meaning there was a significant difference in respiratory frequency before and after SEFT was carried out. Conclusion: this research shows that SEFT can reduce respiratory frequency. This research recommends that SEFT can be an intervention in nursing care for asthma patients. Keywords: SEFT, Respiratory Frequency, Asthma.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly affected children's lifestyles, including their sleep patterns, which are vital for growth and development. Exclusive breastfeeding (EBF) is believed to positively influence children's sleep quality through its bioactive components. This study aims to compare the effects of exclusive breastfeeding on children's sleep quality during and after the COVID-19 pandemic in Samarinda. This retrospective comparative study involved 372 children aged 0-2 years. Data were collected through parent interviews and sleep quality assessment using Children’s Sleep Habits Questionnaire (CSHQ). Chi-square tests and odds ratios (OR) were used to analyze differences in sleep quality between children who were exclusively breastfed and those who were not, during and after the pandemic. During the pandemic, children with exclusive breastfeeding had 7.22 times higher odds of good sleep quality compared to those without (p=0.00). After the pandemic, this odds ratio decreased to 1.45 and was not statistically significant (p=0.123). This indicates that the impact of exclusive breastfeeding on sleep quality was stronger during the pandemic than after. Exclusive breastfeeding plays a crucial role in supporting children's sleep quality during the COVID-19 crisis, but its influence diminishes with age and normalization of daily routines. Environmental factors and parenting practices become the primary determinants of children's sleep quality post-pandemic. Education and nursing interventions should focus on parenting patterns and managing children's sleep routines after the pandemic.
