Abstract

Sundial is a device used as a hint of local pseudo-time using the sun, thus producing the shadows of the gnomon. Sundial is the oldest hour and was first used around 3500 BCE. Sundial consists of several types, namely horizontal, vertical, and equatorial Sundial. Each sundial has its own rules in its creation and the concept of its application. The working principle of this clock is by showing the location based on the sun by looking at the shadows of the sun. As one of the timepiece tools, the sundial not only serves as a tool to know the timing only. It has several other functions, such as the season determinant and the direction of Qibla. However, the entire function of the sundial can only function with the help of the sun as its appointment. By application and the theory, sundial has an excess compared to the math clock. This is because the routine of worship and human social activity is absolutely determined by the time of the Sun standard, not the clock. Because the clock is just the average calculation of the sun's circulation averages around the earth, so the clock can not show the actual time. The sundial can also be used as a time-to-date verifier, as well as a prayer time guideline without time correction, such as digital clock or analog clock.

Abstract

This research discusses the history of the calculation of the date of Easter as part of the reform of the Gregorian calendar using a historical approach. It examines the history of the determination of the date of Easter by the Council of Nicaea in 325 AD and the use of the ecclesiastical full moon method to calculate the date of Easter. This research also discusses the differences in the dating of Easter in the Julian and Gregorian calendars and the relationship between the dating of Easter and the astronomical vernal equinox. The results of this research show that the date of Easter is calculated based on mathematical calculations, taking into account the ecclesiastical full moon and is no longer related to accurate astronomical calculations. This research provides a clear overview of the history and methods of determining the date of Easter and can serve as a reference for scientists and researchers to further study the reform of the Gregorian calendar and the calculation of the date of Easter.

Abstract

Jami' Nurul Huda Mosque is one of the oldest mosques in Bojonegoro, with an age of approximately one and a half centuries. This mosque was founded by a Mataram Islamic warrior named Ki Ageng Wiroyudo in 1846 AD or 1262 Hijri. The purpose of this research is to determine the accuracy of the qibla direction of Jami' Nurul Huda Mosque in Cangakan, Kanor, Bojonegoro. This research is a field study with a descriptive qualitative approach. The primary data sources used are interviews with the mosque's management and observations. The results of this research conclude that the qibla direction of Jami' Nurul Huda Mosque in Cangakan, Kanor, Bojonegoro, when measured using the Mizwala Qibla Finder, shows an azimuth value of 302° compared to the qibla azimuth value of 294° 41’59”, resulting in a difference of 8°. When calculated using Google Earth, the mosque building shows an azimuth value of 303°30’36” and a qibla azimuth value of 294°10'48". The importance of these research results for the local Muslim community lies in the certainty of the qibla direction, which is a crucial aspect in performing prayers. By knowing the correct qibla direction, worshippers can perform their prayers more devoutly and in accordance with Islamic law. The practical implications of this research include the potential adjustment of the mosque's qibla direction to enhance accuracy in worship and provide more accurate guidance for other mosques in the surrounding area. This can also raise awareness of the importance of regularly verifying the qibla direction, given the advancements in technology that allow for more precise measurements.

Abstract

The Islamic law is god’s regulation for human advantages in the word and hereafter. It always relevant with the situation and more elastice toward the mua’amalah (furu’iyah) cases. But the elasticity of the Islamic law always be politicized to obtain the self-interest with out any concider the wors result. Exemple, something (regulation) that forbid by Nash would be allowed immediately because of interest. In Islamic law this case is mentioned as Hilah. Hilah is forbidden by syar’i, but in Islam, part of people are allowed and forbid the hilah. Hilah is suppose as an action to avoid the Islamic law subtantially that contain the moral value, meanwhile the is may not abolished in aplication of law. Hilah is one of the way to finding and developing Islamic law in every cases. It make Islamic law can be always relevant with every situation, no one left behind. For example Hibah and Wasiat for a daughter, one of the strategy to deviding the heir propotion without seeing a gender between a male or fimale. It has a wisdom legal fiction to finding the moral value, not a hilah to avoidding the religion obligations that was absolute in justice.

Abstract

Ibn al-Haitham, a Muslim scientist from the 10th to 11th century CE, is known as a pioneer in the fields of optics and astronomy. His contributions to the development of modern science often receive insufficient attention, despite their significant impact. This study aims to explore the extent to which Ibn al-Haitham's thoughts influenced the development of Islamic astronomy, particularly in the context of optical instruments, using a literature review method. The results of the research show that Ibn al-Haitham adopted an experimental and mathematical approach to astronomy, which differed from the traditional views of his time. He critiqued Ptolemy's theory and made significant contributions to understanding astronomical phenomena such as eclipses and starlight. One of his significant achievements was the development of a method for determining the direction of the qibla using trigonometry, as well as the combination of empirical observation with mathematical analysis, which became the basis for the modern scientific method in astronomy. Ibn al-Haitham's influence on the development of Islamic astronomy is particularly evident in the evolution of optical instruments. His concept of the camera obscura became the foundation for the evolution of telescopes, theodolites, and instruments for observing the new moon. The optical principles he discovered played a major role in improving the accuracy of astronomical measurements and the development of more advanced observational technologies. His understanding of the behavior of light and image formation became the basis for the development of modern astronomical instruments. Although his thinking had some limitations, such as dependence on Aristotelian cosmological concepts, Ibn al-Haitham's contributions remain a critical foundation for the advancement of Islamic astronomy and astronomy as a whole. His progressive thinking and systematic scientific approach have had a long-lasting influence on the development of science. His intellectual legacy not only demonstrates his individual genius but also affirms the important role of Muslim scientists in advancing global scientific knowledge.

Abstract

AbstrakPermasalahan sampah plastik yang semakin meningkat di Desa Sumber Rejo, Kecamatan Winongan, Kabupaten Pasuruan. Tujuan dari pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah untuk menumbuhkan kesadaran masyarakat dalam menjaga kebersihan lingkungan melalui program Ecobrick. Ecobrick adalah metode pengolahan sampah plastik dengan cara memasukkan plastik-plastik yang tidak terurai ke dalam botol plastik hingga padat, yang kemudian dapat digunakan sebagai bahan bangunan alternatif. Tujuan utama dari Ecobrick adalah mengurangi jumlah sampah plastik yang mencemari lingkungan sekaligus menciptakan produk yang bermanfaat dari limbah tersebut. Program ini dirancang sebagai solusi strategis untuk mengurangi sampah plastik dan meningkatkan partisipasi masyarakat dalam pengelolaan lingkungan. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Program Ecobrick berhasil meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat terhadap pentingnya pengelolaan sampah plastik. Masyarakat mulai aktif berpartisipasi dalam pemilahan dan daur ulang sampah plastik. Selain itu, program ini berhasil mengurangi jumlah sampah plastik yang berserakan dan menghasilkan produk-produk bermanfaat seperti bangku taman, pot tanaman, dan fasilitas umum lainnya. Keterlibatan aktif masyarakat dan pelatihan yang efektif memainkan peran penting dalam keberhasilan program ini. Kesimpulan yang didapat adalah program Ecobrick di Desa Sumber Rejo telah memberikan dampak positif dalam menumbuhkan kesadaran masyarakat tentang pentingnya menjaga kebersihan lingkungan dan memberikan manfaat ekonomi serta estetika bagi desa. Kata kunci: Kesadaran Masyarakat, Kebersihan Lingkungan, Ecobrick, Pengelolaan Sampah, Desa Sumber Rejo.

Abstract

Abstrak: Awal waktu salat memang telah di sebutkan dalam al-quran atupun sunnah nabi. Namun berbeda dengan fenomena yang terjadi di Desa Banjarejo, yang mana pengumandangan azan dan pelaksanaan salat Asar secara berjamaah mengalami pengunduran dari jadwal yang semestinya. Penelitian ini menganalisis praktik pengunduran azan dan pelaksanaan salat Asar berjamaah di Desa Banjarejo, Kabupaten Malang, dalam perspektif Ushul Fiqh. Penelitian menggunakan metode studi lapangan dengan teknik wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Data primer dalam penelitian ini ialah para tokoh di Desa Banjarejo terkait penundaan azan serta pelaksanaan salat Asar berjamaah di Desa Banjarejo. Selain data primer, terdapat data sekunder yang berupa buku-buku ataupun literatur-literatur yang berhubungan dengan awal waktu salat. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa pengunduran dilakukan sebagai bentuk penyesuaian waktu dengan aktivitas masyarakat. Sehingga para tokoh desa terdahulu mengambil jalan tengah dengan hasil demikian, supaya antusiasme masyarakat untuk berjamaah tetap terjaga. Secara Ushul Fiqh dapat dikategorikan sebagai bentuk ‘urf dan maṣlaḥah yang tidak bertentangan dengan syariat. Kata Kunci: Pengunduran Adzan Asar, Banjarejo Pagelaran, Ushul Fiqh, ‘Urf, Maslahah. Abstract: The beginning of the time of prayer has indeed been mentioned in the Qur'an or the Sunnah of the Prophet. However, it is different from the phenomenon that occurred in Banjarejo Village, where the call to prayer and the implementation of the Asar prayer in congregation were postponed from the proper schedule. This study analyses the practice of postponing the call to prayer and the implementation of congregational Asar prayers in Banjarejo Village, Malang Regency, from the perspective of Ushul Fiqh. The research uses a field study method with interviews, observation, and documentation techniques. The primary data in this study are figures in Banjarejo Village related to the postponement of the call to prayer and the implementation of congregational Asar prayers in Banjarejo Village. In addition to primary data, secondary data is in the form of books or literature related to the beginning of prayer time. The data was analysed descriptively. The results showed that the postponement was carried out as a form of time adjustment with community activities. The previous village leaders took the middle way with such results, and the enthusiasm of the community to join the congregation was maintained. Ushul Fiqh can be categorised as a form of 'urf and maṣlaḥah that is not contrary to the sharia. Keywords: Asar Adhan Resignation, Banjarejo Performance, Ushul Fiqh, ‘urf, maṣlaḥah.
