Abstract

Abstract

Abstract. A child's growth and development begins in the womb. Growth and development are processes that run parallel and side by side, meaning they cannot be separated, stimulation of growth and development is an important thing. The implementation of early detection of growth and development can be assisted by health cadres. However, it appears that many health cadres still do not understand how to carry out early detection of growth and development of toddlers using KPSP, so that in the posyandu process not a single toddler is carried out early detection, especially regarding growth and development. The aim of this community service is to increase the knowledge skills of Health Human Resources (cadres) regarding Early Detection Stimulation of Growth and Development (SDIDTK) in Children Aged 0–6 Years. The method used is health education with lectures and demonstrations. This activity produces cadres who are able to carry out examinations and measurements of Early Detection Stimulation of Growth and Development (SDIDTK) in children aged 0-6 years as the first step in finding early cases of stunting at the basic level which can later be used by holders of the special Stunting community health center program. Thus, it is hoped that the participation of these cadres in preventing and finding cases early can be carried out.

Abstract

One of the keys to a person suffering from diabetes mellitus being able to live a healthy life like other people without diabetes is to maintain balanced blood glucose levels within normal limits. One important way to reduce blood glucose levels, especially in type 2 DM sufferers, is exercise. This study aims to identify the effect of aerobic exercise, on changes in blood glucose levels. This research is a pre-experimental research with a one group pre-posttest approach. The research sample was 33 people suffering from type 2 DM at the Lingsar Community Health Center, selected using a simple random sampling technique. Each respondent was given aerobic exercise 3 times a week with a minimum duration of 20 minutes. Data on blood glucose levels before and after the intervention were collected using an observation sheet. The results of the study showed that the average blood glucose before the intervention was 162.2 mg/dL and after the intervention it fell to 156.14 mg/dL. The t-test with a=0.05 showed r=0.000. It can be concluded that there is an effect of aerobic exercise on the respondents' blood glucose levels. Aerobic exercise has been proven to reduce the average blood glucose level after this is done regularly. This study results can be an evidenced base for community nursing to promote regular aerobic exercise among people with DM, to help reduce or control their blood glucose.

Abstract

Identifying diabetic patients with sensory disturbances that ultimately lead to diabetic foot ulcers (DFU) is very important. The data on Diabetes Mellitus patients in Batu Kumbung village in 2023 shows a total of 57 patients.  Based on the results of a preliminary study with 25 diabetes patients, it was found that 20 individuals (80%) reported symptoms of neuropathy, specifically tingling sensations in their feet, while 5 individuals (20%) did not complain of any tingling in their feet. Meanwhile, the knowledge and skills of the families of patients suffering from diabetes in detecting diabetic foot ulcers (DFU) early were all (100%) found to be lacking. The results showed a change in the knowledge of the families of patients in performing early detection of Diabetic Foot Ulcers, with those having insufficient knowledge decreasing from 15 individuals (75%) to having good knowledge increasing to 18 individuals (90%). The skills of families in performing early detection of Diabetic Foot Ulcers improved from insufficient skills in 20 individuals (10%) to good knowledge in 18 individuals (90%). For the foot health condition, the examination results showed that only 2 out of 10 people were at risk. After health condition training, none of the 20 diabetes patients experienced the risk of DFU (100%). Meanwhile, regarding blood sugar levels, out of 10 people, 5 (50%) had abnormal blood sugar levels, which increased to 15 people (75%) with normal blood sugar levels, leaving only 5 (25%) with abnormal blood sugar levels. Therefore, the role of the family is needed in monitoring health conditions, especially foot health, so that wounds in diabetes patients can be prevented.

Abstract

The growing understanding of the importance of Basic Life Support (BLS) training among adolescents in organized communities has given rise to the need to implement engaging learning methods. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Snakes and Ladders and Flashcard game methods on the knowledge, attitudes, and skills of adolescents in Karang Taruna in Babussalam Village. The method used was the Pre-Experimental One Group Pretest Posttest design, with 64 adolescents as respondents taken through stratified random sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires and observations and analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The results showed that there was a significant increase in the level of knowledge (from 4.48 to 9.56, p < 0.001), attitudes (from 22.55 to 37.95, p < 0.001), and skills (from 0 to 5.83, p < 0.001) after the implementation of the intervention. These results confirm that the game and visualization methods help in improving BLS understanding and skills. In conclusion, the use of the Snakes and Ladders and Flashcard game methods is effective in improving adolescent knowledge, attitudes, and skills, thus contributing to improving community health capacity in Babussalam Village. This study recommends the application of similar interactive methods in other health training programs to strengthen the appeal and effectiveness of learning.
