This paper aims to develop a learning model choukai with shadowing techniques and to determine the effectiveness of using shadowing techniques on listening ability in choukai courses. Therefore, experimental research and data collection techniques using pre and post-tests were applied to the same group, consisting of 28 students. Then, the t-test was used to analyze the data. As a result, there was a significant difference between the pre-test and the post-test result, indicating that the Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.000 0.05, and a difference between the average student results before and after using shadowing techniques after treatmeant. In conclusion, developing of the learning model choukai using shadowing techniques on level IV students of the Japanese language education study program FKIP UHAMKA was feasible to be used by students in learning courses choukai.

SCL emphasizes the student-centered learning process, where in this approach, students become active actors in learning activities. The presence of the student-centered learning method is expected to be able to improve the quality and learning abilities of school students. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of learning Japanese with poster media to improve the Japanese reading ability of students in class XI Language at SMAN 113 Jakarta. The research method is student-based learning with the research design being Pre-Experimental Design with the One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design model. The study included 40 students from SMAN 113 Jakarta's class XI Language.Data analysis in the study was carried out in several stages, namely the validity test, reliability test, homogeneity test, normality test, t test, and n gain score. The findings revealed that there was a substantial effect or difference in student-based learning using poster media on enhancing Japanese language acquisition reading ability when compared to before treatment. The N Gain Score test, which uses two statistics, the mean and median, shows that the strategy is extremely effective in developing Japanese language abilities.

Abstract

However, the pedagogic competence of lecturers did not have a significant direct influence on students' learning interest with a significance value of 0.070 (>0.05) and a direct influence coefficient of 0.138. On the other hand, learning motivation had a significant effect on learning interest with a significance value of 0.000 and a direct influence coefficient of 0.763. Furthermore, the results of the path analysis showed that the indirect influence of lecturers' pedagogic competence on learning interest through learning motivation was greater than the direct influence, with a value of 0.556 compared to 0.138. Thus, it can be concluded that the pedagogic competence of lecturers plays an important role in increasing students' learning motivation, which ultimately has an impact on their interest in learning Japanese.

Abstract

This study investigates the types and functions of ontological metaphors in Genbaku Shishū by Tōge Sankichi, focusing on how they represent the physical and psychological impact of the Hiroshima atomic bombing. Using a qualitative method with a stylistic approach and content analysis, the study is grounded in Lakoff and Johnson’s conceptual metaphor theory. Ontological metaphors found in the poems were categorized into five types: thought, event, emotion, inanimate object, and body part. A total of 192 lines containing ontological metaphors were identified. Body part metaphors are the most dominant (107 lines), followed by inanimate objects (60), emotions (13), events (8), and thoughts (4). These metaphors express abstract experiences—pain, trauma, and memory—as concrete entities, enhancing emotional depth and imagery. The study concludes that ontological metaphors strengthen the poetic expression of historical trauma and deepen readers’ engagement with the victims’ lived experiences.
