Abstract

This study aims to describe the Value of Character Education in the Collection of Folk Tales of Singkawang City 2019. The method used is a descriptive method. The form of this research is qualitative. Data sources are in the form of quotations and data in the form of character education values. The data collection technique is a documentary study technique. The data analysis technique is carried out by collecting quotations, analyzing, comparing, and combining them to form systematic and complete study results, based on data analysis and discussion it can be concluded that the value of character education based on heart processing has 57 data, based on thinking processing there are 19 data, based on sports there are 10 data, based on feeling and intention processing there are 23 data. This research can be implemented in class IX applied as Indonesian language teaching materials for Film/Drama material for the Independent Curriculum with Learning Achievements (CP) for writing and listening elements.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini Adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Group Investigation terhadap kemampuan membaca puisi siswa pada kelas VIII MTs. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode eksperimen. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah Quasi Experimental Designs menggunakan bentuk Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah semua siswa kelas VIII MTs. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling dan terpilih kelas VIII C sebagai kelas eksperimen dan siswa VIII B sebagai kelas kontrol. Hasil penelitian dengan menggunakan uji-t diperoleh nilai t-hitung > t-tabel yaitu 6,97>2,00 dengan taraf signifikasi 0,05%. Hasil perhitungan kemampuan membaca puisi siswa di kelas eksperimen yaitu nilai rata-rata hasil pre-test yaitu 33 dan mengalami peningkatan pada nilai rata-rata hasil post-test yaitu 66. Sedangkan nilai rata-rata hasil tes kemampuan membaca puisi siswa di kelas kontrol nilai rata-rata hasil pre-test yaitu 32 dan mengalami peningkatan pada nilai rata-rata hasil post-test yaitu 44. Perhitungan persentase aktivitas siswa diperoleh persentase 68,1% dengan kategori aktif. Uji Effect Size diperoleh nilai Effect Size sebesar 2,1 dengan kategori tinggi.

Abstract

Komunikasi matematis memiliki peranan penting dalam pembelajaran matematika karena dengan kemampuan komunikasi siswa dapat menyatakan ide atau gagasan matematisnya, namun pada kenyataannya komunikasi matematis siswa masih rendah. Salah satu alternatif penyelesaian masalah tersebut adalah dengan menerapkan model Student Facilitator and Explaining (SFE). Penelitian ini bertujuan: 1) Mengetahui apakah terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran Student Facilitator and Explaning (SFE) terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa kelas V SDN 23 Singkawang, 2) Mengetahui seberapa besar pengaruh model Student Facilitator and Explaning (SFE) terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa kelas V SDN 23 Singkawang, 3) Mengetahui bagaimana keterlaksanaan model Student Facilitator and Explaning (SFE) terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa kelas V SDN 23 Singkawang. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dengan desain The Nonequivalent Posttest-Only Control Group. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari dua kelompok: kelas V A (eksperimen) dan kelas V B (kontrol), masing-masing terdiri dari 25 siswa dipilih dengan teknik purposive sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan soal essay dan lembar observasi. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji independent sample t-test, uji effect size, dan uji rata-rata. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: 1)Terdapat pengaruh model Student Facilitator and Explaining (SFE) terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa kelas V SDN 23 Singkawang, dibuktikan dengan uji Independent Sample T-test diperoleh  sebesar 7,51 dan  sebesar 1,67, 2) Model Student Facilitator and Explaining (SFE) berpengaruh besar terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa kelas V SDN 23 Singkawang, dibuktikan dengan uji effect size sebesar 2,24, 3) Keterlaksanaan model Student Facilitator and Explaining (SFE) menunjukkan skor rata-rata baik, dengan rata-rata keseluruhan sebesar 89.

Abstract

Drama Studies learning in higher education often faces challenges of low student engagement due to conventional teaching methods, limited interactivity, and the lack of integration of local cultural values into the learning process. This study aims to develop and implement a digital Project-Based Learning (PBL) model that integrates local wisdom into Drama Studies courses and to disseminate its impact on student learning outcomes. The research employs a developmental research design with a descriptive-qualitative approach, following the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate). Data were collected through in-depth interviews, classroom observations, documentation of student drama projects, and assessments of cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains. The results indicate that the developed learning model enhances students’ understanding of drama theory, strengthens their appreciation of local culture, and improves their dramatic performance skills through collaborative projects. The integration of local culture–based digital media also enriches the learning context and significantly boosts student engagement. This study provides a theoretical contribution to the development of a locality-based TPACK framework and offers a practical model applicable to arts education in the digital era. The findings conclude that the collaboration between technology, pedagogical projects, and local culture effectively creates contextual, interactive, and meaningful learning experiences in Drama Studies within higher education.

Abstract

This study aimed to: (1) determine the effect of the Snowball Throwing learning model on students’ reading comprehension skills, and (2) measure the magnitude of its effect on reading comprehension in Indonesian language learning. This quantitative research employed a quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design. The population consisted of two classes: an experimental group and a control group. Data were collected using a measurement technique with reading comprehension tests administered as pretest and posttest. Before hypothesis testing, normality and homogeneity tests were conducted, showing that the data were normally distributed and homogeneous. Therefore, hypothesis testing was carried out using an independent samples t-test and effect size analysis. The results showed that the Snowball Throwing model had an effect on students’ reading comprehension skills, with the mean score increasing from 52.40 (pretest) to 74.80 (posttest). The independent samples t-test resulted in a significance value of 0.002 (< 0.05), indicating a significant difference between the experimental and control groups. The effect size was 0.901, categorized as large. In conclusion, the Snowball Throwing learning model has a significant and strong effect on improving students’ reading comprehension skills.

Abstract

Scientific articles and essays play a strategic role in documenting and promoting the richness of local traditions. Therefore, writing about local culture is an effort to preserve identity amidst the increasingly strong current of globalization. This Community Service (PKM) activity aims to foster and increase interest in writing scientific articles and essays. The solutions offered are: 1) Providing participants with an understanding of the importance of writing scientific articles and essays with local cultural content. 2) Holding intensive technical guidance on writing scientific articles and essays with local cultural content. This PKM activity is carried out in three main stages, namely: 1) Preparation, namely an initial discussion with the service partner (Singkawang City Library) to identify the need for technical guidance on writing scientific articles and essays. 2) Implementation, to improve the writing skills of participants, the team will hold technical guidance. 3) Evaluation, observations are conducted to observe the participation and involvement of participants in each technical guidance session. In addition, a written test and questionnaire are carried out. The results of the activity showed that the participation and involvement of participants in each technical guidance session, overall, were in the very good category, seen from the participants' skills in writing scientific articles and essays, enthusiasm, level of understanding of participants, and activeness during the technical guidance. A total of 62 participants were in the very good category (78%), 14 participants were in the good category (17%), and 4 participants were in the fairly good category (5%). In addition, the results of the questionnaire responses of 75 participants (93.75%) of 80 participants thought the technical guidance on writing scientific articles and essays on local cultural content was very useful, 2 participants thought it was less useful, and 3 participants abstained. This shows that the technical guidance activities had a positive and beneficial impact on participants.
