Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji secara mendalam makna nilai-nilai sosial dalam novel Oliver Twist karya Charles Dickens yang dikaji berdasarkan pendekatan struktural sastra. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode analisis isi. Pengumpulan data diperoleh dari studi pustaka berupa observasi data tentang nilai-nilai sosial dalam novel Oliver Twist. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai-nilai sosial yang ditemukan dan dideskripsikan dalam novel karya Chales Dickens yaitu Nilai kasih sayang yang terdiri dari cinta dan kasih sayang, pengabdian, tolong menolong, kekeluargaan, kepedulian, dan kesetiaan. Nilai Tanggung jawab yang terdiri dari rasa menerima dan memiliki, kewajiban, dan disiplin. Nilai keserasian hidup yang terdiri dari keadilan, toleransi, kerjasama dan demokrasi. Seluruh data ditemukan dan dideskripsikan melalui struktur novel. Hasil penelitian dapat diimplikasikan bagi para pendidik untuk menggunakan novel Charles Dickens dalam proses pembelajaran agar dianalisis oleh para siswa. Kata kunci: nilai-nilai sosial, novel Oliver Twist

Abstract

The role of language in tourism is very significant, knowing tourism knowledge, especially about objects and attractions, is an important insight for people who live in tourist areas. Based on initial observations, the community service team observed that human resources in Negeri Oma have not yet developed their ability to promote tourism, particularly in communication. As a simple example, when there are foreign tourists who ask for directions or ask for directions to where to stay, local residents still have difficulty in explaining it. Related to the problems that community service team got from initial observations in the field, the team carried out English language training to develop foreign language mastery for residents in Negeri Oma, Haruku Island, Central Maluku. The service team provides training to junior and senior high school students to practice their English skills. The results of this training showed the high interest and motivation of the students who were given the training. Furthermore, after going through several training sessions, students were able to practice simple conversations such as introducing themselves, showing directions to tourist attractions, and haggling over the price of souvenirs. This training is also expected to produce a product, namely a guide that can be used by the community that contains simple conversations in English in terms of tourism.

Abstract

Larike country, one of the traditional villages located on Ambon Island and is part of the West Leihitu District, Central Maluku Regency. Larike Country has several unique and interesting tourist areas such as: Batu Layar, Pancoran Kuning, Morea Pond Tour and others, there are several tourist spots that attract the attention of local and foreign tourists to visit Larike Country.The pandemic that has hit the world in the last 3 years requires us to always live healthy both for ourselves and for others. We will be in a new normal condition where we will make new habits in social interaction. The new habits include: always wearing a mask, washing hands before and after doing something especially when in public places, keeping a distance and reducing activities on the spot.The use of the ablution faucet at the Larike mosque still uses a manual faucet that directly touches the faucet and is used by many people. To anticipate the spread of the virus, the use of automatic tools which are appropriate technology, such as the use of automatic faucets in places of worship.

Abstract

Maluku as an archipelagic province has natural beauty that can be utilized to improve the economy and welfare of the Maluku people. With the characteristics of beautiful islands, strong culture and local wisdom of the population, if maximized for the use of business opportunities, it is business development in the tourism sector. Blue economy is a new idea in development that is oriented towards the marine sector. The country of Morella is located along the coast with varying heights above sea level. The condition of the village which is located on the clean coast makes the country of Morella has many coastal tourist locations that are often visited by tourists, both local, national and foreign tourists. Besides being cheap, beach tourism is famous for its underwater beauty, which is the best diving and snorkeling spot. The problem that exists in the coastal tourist locations of Morella Village is that they have inadequate infrastructure so that it affects tourist attractions. In addition, there are no sales of local products as souvenirs typical of the country of Morella. The purpose of this research is to improve the community's economy by developing knowledge and skills of human resources in the production and marketing process, to improve the welfare of the community. The solution offered is to make a draft policy which is submitted to the Village/State party for further making a State Regulation that is made together with the Village Saniri.

Abstract

In learning English, it is clearly seen that students have their own ways and abilities to understand information or learning materials. The method used by students in understanding the information is generally known as learning style. This study aims to identify the dominant learning style used by students in learning English at civil engineering class. This study was survey research. There are two types of learning styles studied. First, it can be seen from the perceptual aspect which has 3 types of learning styles, namely visual, auditory, and kinesthetic. Second, learning styles are seen from the social aspect which consists of 2 types, namely groups and individuals. The participants in this study were 248 students briefly divided into 9 classes. In determining the participants, the researcher precisely used a total sampling technique. Furthermore, the researcher used a questionnaire as an instrument to obtain data. The results of the study strongly showed that students used all learning styles, namely visual, auditory, kinesthetic, group, and individual. Based on the data obtained and analyzed, the highest percentage of learning styles for the perceptual aspect is visual with a total percentage of 45.5%. Then, for the social aspect, which gained a percentage of 44.3%. Based on the data obtained in this study, it can be concluded that the learning style of civil engineering students is more dominant using the perceptual learning style compared to the social learning style, and this can be seen from the data presented in this study.

Abstract

Abstract The aim of this research is to determine the effect of using wordwall learning media on student learning outcomes. Regarding the learning process, the increase in learning outcomes is reflected in the changes that show improvement at each meeting during the learning process. The changes that occur include students' attention to learning while it is taking place, good cooperation in groups, more effective time management by teachers, students are brave in asking questions, responding in the ongoing discussion process, students are active in the game-based learning process, thereby spurring student learning motivation. to be able to understand the material. In this way, the implementation of this research can see the success rate of 25 students with a percentage of 90% who have achieved the KKM. Keywords: write 4-8 phrases Abstrak – Tujuan Penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan media pembelajaran wordwall terhadap hasil belajar mahasiswa. Terkait dengan proses pembelajaran, peningkatan hasil belajar ini tercermin dengan adanya perubahan-perubahan yang menunjukkan peningkatan pada setiap pertemuan selama proses pembelajaran berlangsung. Adapun perubahan yang terjadi meliputi perhatian mahasiswa terhadap pembelajaran sementara berlangsung, kerja sama yang baik dalam kelompok, pengelolaan waktu yang semakin efektif oleh dosen, mahasiswa berani dalam bertanya, menanggapi dalam proses diskusi berlangsung, mahasiswa aktif dalam proses pembelajran berbasisgames,  sehingga memacu motivasi belajar siswa untuk mampu memahami materi. Dengan demikian maka pelaksanaan penelitian ini dapat dilihat tingkat keberhasilan mahasiswa yang berjumlah 25 orang dengan persentasi 90 % telah mencapai KKM. Kata kunci: Games, Wordwall, Learning Media, Influence, Learning Results

Abstract

Presented as a technological innovation set to usher in significant changes globally, artificial intelligence (AI) enters various segments of life, especially in the field of education. Civil engineering students, as part of their learning journey, try to apply it in class, especially in aspects of engineering English vocabulary. In the current study, students used the English Language Speech Assistant (ELSA) application. The research method used was descriptive research, where the research subjects were taken from 1 class of 29 students. In this study the questionnaires were used as instruments to collect research data. Based on the results of survey analysis and data collected, it was revealed that students had very good and positive perceptions of using the ELSA application. Students exhibit great joy and enthusiasm in learning engineering English vocabulary using the ELSA application. In addition to offering an effective means of pronouncing vocabulary words, this application's feedback also serves as a motivational factor to learn engineering English vocabulary. Thus, the student's positive perspective on this application of AI can be an indicator of the success of students' language learning in the future.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the internet literacy level of students in the National Polytechnic English Olympic (NPEO) selection at Ambon State Polytechnic 2022. The researchers are interested in understanding the internet literacy of 30 students focusing on the use of search engines, social media, email, and downloading. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach and utilized questionnaires to collect data. The data is then analyzed using the capability Maturity Model Theory. The results revealed that the internet literacy level of students in the National Polytechnic English Olympic (NPEO) at Ambon State Polytechnic 2022 was at level 2 with 50 %. This final result related to the self-rating internet proficiency with 48% (at intermediate level), internet usage and internet capability with 86 % (at good category), and knowledge test with 60 % (at Middle level). The results also elucidated several factors that affected internet literacy among the students, such as gender, age, and internet usage experience.

Abstract

Pengabdian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan memberikan pelatihan kecakapan komunikasi kepada warga Desa Suli Dusun Wainusalaut RT.049 di Provinsi Maluku. Dalam Pengabdian ini, fokus pengabdian adalah menilai bagaimana pelatihan kecakapan komunikasi bermanfaat dalam ruang lingkup administrasi di rukun tetangga. Sampel dalam pengabdian ini dipilih secara purposive sampling sebanyak 15 orang. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif dengan menggunakan kuesioner dan wawancara. Berdasarkan persentase capaian, hasil menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan kecakapan komunikasi sangat penting dan berguna bagi warga Dusun Wainusalaut, dengan kategori "Sangat Baik" mencapai persentase 90%. Meskipun demikian, masih diperlukan peningkatan lebih lanjut.

Abstract

Learning videos are interactive media that are currently commonly used in learning, especially in English subjects in recent times. Providing a positive impact on students' motivation in learning English is one of the benefits obtained from the application of this learning media. English learning videos made by involving students as actors in it are expected to foster their motivation in learning English. As for the purpose of this study, it was found that from the research data it was found that students were more motivated by learning English in class using the videos they participated in. Focusing on research methodology, descriptive quantitative research is applied to obtain research objectives. The results of the research obtained in this study are narrated in descriptive form.Keywords: learning videos, student motivation, English learning
