Abstract

A shipyard is an industry that designs, builds and repairs ships. The shipbuilding process at a shipyard involves a number of complex stages, from design to launch. If there is too much stock, the company will incur high storage costs. Conversely, if the stock is too low, the production process will be hampered by delays in material delivery, which can ultimately affect the ship's launch schedule. To overcome these problems, PT XYZ needs to implement a better inventory control system. This system aims to ensure the availability of sufficient plate materials to meet production requirements, including forecasting demand, determining safety stock levels and setting reorder points. The method used in this study is a time series consisting of three methods, namely single moving average, weighted moving average and single exponential smoothing using POM-QM software. Based on the results of the study, the feasible method to be applied to PT XYZ forecasting is a moving average with a MAD value of 5,444, MSE of 46,679, MAPE of 6,695% and forecasting results of 85 pcs per month. Based on the calculation results, it is recommended to reorder the sheet material when the stock reaches the reorder point of 271 pcs. This figure takes into account the safety stock of 18 pcs.

Abstract

Ruangguru CAMP is a joint programme between Ruangguru and Kampus Merdeka. This programme is in the form of online course learning. The purpose of this study is to determine the extent to which application quality affects the level of student satisfaction in the Independent Product Management study programme. The data collection method used in this study is a questionnaire to collect sample data from 77 students of Ruangguru CAMP Independent Product Management Study Programme. After the data is collected, the data is analysed using the multiple linear regression method to determine whether there is a significant relationship between application quality and user satisfaction. After analysing the data, the results showed that application quality has a positive impact on user satisfaction with a contribution coefficient of 71.4%. Therefore, developers should always optimise application performance to reduce the potential for crashes or other technical problems that may affect the comfort or overall user experience.

Abstract

The water supply activity at XYZ Dock is a high-risk work area. The purpose of this research is to identify hazard risks and provide suggestions for controlling occupational safety and health (OSH) hazards at XYZ Pier. The methods used in this research are Job Safety Analysis Hazard Identification (JSA) and Hazard Risk Assessment and Control (HIRARC). Based on the results obtained from the identification of hazards in each water supply activity, the data obtained in the hose laying activity has 4 medium hazards and 2 low hazards. In the clean water distribution activity, there is 1 high risk, 2 medium risks and 1 low risk. In the activity of releasing the hose there is 1 risk of medium value and 3 risks of low value. After risk control, there is 1 medium risk and 5 low risks in the hose laying activity. In the clean water distribution activity there is 1 medium value risk and 3 low value risks. In the hose removal activity, there is 1 risk of medium value and 3 risks of low value. Therefore, this investigation is able to reduce the risk of potential hazards in the clean water supply activities at XYZ pier.

Abstract

The uncertain amount of raw materials greatly affects the smoothness of production in a company and the amount of production output, thus encouraging researchers to conduct research on raw material inventory control. PT. Gajah Surya Plastik, is a company engaged in plastic recycling. Companies need to know the minimum stock of raw materials that must be held and the maximum stock limit that the company can hold in order for the raw material supply to be optimal. The min-max stock method was used to determine the maximum and minimum stock levels of the company's clear PET plastic raw materials. This research was carried out using primary data on the company's raw materials and interviews with related parties. From the research, the results of the data processing are that the minimum stock limit is 38,254 kg and the maximum raw material stock limit is 67,309 kg. With a safety stock value of 9199 kg. In addition, the raw material consumption for the next period is forecast with minimum error using the exponential smoothing method. The results of this research minimise the occurrence of stockouts and overstocks of clear PET plastic raw materials, so that production runs optimally.

Abstract

Technological advancements have driven the adoption of online transportation applications by various user groups, including the elderly. However, limitations in cognitive aspects and digital experiences cause barriers to application use. This study was conducted to evaluate the usability of online transportation applications for elderly users using the Think Aloud and System Usability Scale (SUS) methods. The evaluation was carried out through a series of tests with eight elderly respondents to measure effectiveness, efficiency, and user satisfaction. The Think Aloud method was used to explore the experiences and difficulties faced by the elderly on the application interface, respondents verbally expressed their thoughts and feelings during the testing process. The Think Aloud testing process is analyzed to identify the specification of the requirements that form the basis for the redesign of the application. The measurement results showed that the average application effectiveness value increased from 85% in the initial design to 100%. Efficiency values show a significant improvement from the initial design of 73% to 100% in the proposed improvement design. The average SUS score before the improvement was 61.25 in the marginal category, and increased to 81.25 in the acceptable category after the improvement design. The results of this study confirm that optimizing design based on the needs of the elderly can improve the user experience and accessibility of online transportation services.

Abstract

Carbon steel is a primary material in various engineering applications that require cutting accuracy to maintain product quality. Advances in flame cutting technology in the manufacturing industry highlight the importance of understanding proper parameter settings. Incorrect parameter adjustments can lead to inaccuracy, material defects, and increased operational costs. In this study, the Taguchi method combined with ANOVA will be used to optimize dimensional inaccuracy in the CNC flame cutting process on SS400 steel plates. The effects of variations in cutting parameters, including cutting speed, gas pressure, and oxygen pressure, on the dimensional inaccuracy of the cut were identified. The analysis results show that gas pressure is the most influential parameter, with a contribution of 86.31%, followed by cutting speed at 6.06% and oxygen pressure at 2.42%. The optimal parameter combination for minimizing dimensional inaccuracy was found at a cutting speed of 319 mm/min, gas pressure of 4 bar, and oxygen pressure of 6 bar. These findings highlight the importance of adjusting gas pressure to improve cutting accuracy and reduce operational costs and time at PT XYZ.
