Abstract

This study aims to examine the concept of property ownership rights in the Qur'an, emphasizing the balance in life through the management of wealth for collective well-being. Islam acknowledges the natural human inclination toward owning wealth but establishes regulations to ensure that ownership benefits not only individuals but also the broader community. This research employs a descriptive-analytical method with a library research approach. Primary sources include the Qur'an, Hadith, and tafsir texts, supplemented by relevant supporting literature. The findings reveal that Allah SWT is the ultimate owner of all that exists in the heavens and the earth (QS. Al-Maidah: 120), while humans are entrusted with temporary ownership to sustain their livelihoods (QS. Al-Hadid [57]: 7). This ownership is categorized into three types: individual ownership, acquired through work (QS. Al-Jumu'ah [62]: 10) or inheritance (QS. Al-Baqarah [2]: 180; QS. An-Nisa’ [4]: 11-12); state ownership, which includes zakat, ghanimah, and fa'i (QS. Al-Anfaal [8]: 41; QS. Al-Hasyr [59]: 7); and public ownership, encompassing resources managed for communal benefit (QS. Ar-Rahmaan [55]: 10). This study contributes to the development of Islamic economic theory by emphasizing the importance of equitable wealth distribution and providing practical foundations for economic policies grounded in Qur'anic values to achieve collective prosperity.

Abstract

This study explores the pivotal role of common sense in English Language Teaching (ELT), particularly in addressing the limitations of textbook-based instruction. While textbooks offer a structured foundation, they often lack the adaptability needed to meet the diverse needs, interests, and learning styles of students. Using a systematic and thematic literature review, this research examines how teachers’ practical judgment—rooted in experience, intuition, and contextual awareness—enhances lesson planning, classroom management, instructional strategies, and assessment. Findings reveal that common sense allows teachers to personalize learning, respond flexibly to challenges, and foster inclusive and dynamic classroom environments. Real-world case studies further demonstrate how teachers apply common sense to support student engagement, autonomy, creativity, and resilience. However, the study also acknowledges that common sense is inherently subjective and must be balanced with sound pedagogical principles. The research calls for the integration of common sense into teacher education and professional development as a vital pedagogical resource, emphasizing reflective practice and teacher agency. Ultimately, effective ELT requires not only theoretical knowledge but also the wisdom to apply it meaningfully in diverse classroom contexts.

Abstract

The rise of religious polarization threatens Indonesian pluralism, necessitating the state-endorsed paradigm of Islam Wasathiyah (Religious Moderation). However, the efficacy of traditional interfaith dialogue in translating this theological ideal into measurable public behavior remains empirically unverified. This study aimed to empirically evaluate the differential impact of two primary dialogue strategies—Theological Exchange (Strategy A) and Joint Social Action (Strategy B)—on strengthening key dimensions of moderation (Tolerance, Empathy, Anti-Extremism) among key public sphere demographics. A quantitative, quasi-experimental pre-test/post-test control group design was employed (N=294), recruiting university students and community leaders. Data were analyzed using MANCOVA to control for baseline scores across the three experimental groups over a six-week intervention period. Both active strategies significantly improved moderation compared to the control group (Wilk’s \Lambda = 0.655, p < .001). However, Strategy B (Joint Social Action) proved statistically superior to Strategy A, producing significantly greater gains in Tolerance and Perceived Empathy (both p < .001). Qualitative data confirmed that building a shared civic identity through collaborative work mediated this superior affective change. The findings mandate a strategic shift: the most potent public sphere strategy for strengthening Islam Wasathiyah is rooted in the experiential efficacy of shared, non-religious work, not purely intellectual debate. This conceptual model provides an evidence-based mechanism for translating the theological ideal into robust, affective cohesion.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the content of moral material in the Hadith of Arba'in An-Nawawi and analyze its implementation in the formation of character values of students at Syekh Abdurrahman Rabah Pademawu Pamekasan Middle School. The focus of the study is directed at strengthening three main character values, namely religious, discipline, and respect (takzim). The study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive research type. Data were obtained through observation, in-depth interviews with the principal, Islamic Religious Education teachers, and students, as well as documentation studies of learning tools. Furthermore, the data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model which includes data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The validity of the data is guaranteed through the application of source triangulation and technical triangulation. The results of the study indicate that the Hadith of Arba'in An-Nawawi contains moral values that cover three main aspects, namely morality towards Allah SWT, morality towards oneself, and morality towards fellow human beings. The implementation of this material is carried out through routine study and memorization of hadith, the instilling of Islamic behavior in daily life at school, and the role model provided by teachers and the principal. Through this process, students demonstrate the development of religious character, discipline, and respect (takzim), which are reflected in their behavior during learning activities and at school. Successful implementation is supported by the school's commitment, teacher competence, a religious learning environment, and parental involvement in character development. Challenges encountered include limited learning time, the influence of digital media use, and suboptimal character building within the family environment. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the implementation of the moral material in the Hadith of Arba'in An-Nawawi plays a crucial role in shaping students' character through a continuous process of learning, habituation, and role modeling within the school environment.
