Abstract

The development of problem-solving skills is crucial in facing global competition. Therefore, early training is necessary. With the advancement of technology and computer usage, a new approach to developing problem-solving skills has emerged, known as Computational Thinking (CT). CT is derived from the fundamental principles of computer science, where problems are understood in an abstract manner and solutions are formulated through illustration. Since 2016, Indonesia has actively participated in the Bebras Community and promoted Computational Thinking by organizing the Bebras Challenge for students across the country. The Faculty of Engineering at UNM has become one of the Bebras Bureaus involved in organizing the Bebras Challenge in South Sulawesi. The Bebras outreach to teachers aims to introduce this Computational Thinking skill so that every teacher can convey and train their students in developing problem-solving skills. The outreach was attended by representative teachers from 100 elementary schools in Kabupaten Luwu Utara

Abstract

Social issues among teenagers such as declining manners, lack of responsibility, weakened sense of tolerance, and poor collaboration reflect an ongoing crisis of character that calls for immediate and thoughtful intervention. This study explores the effectiveness of character education rooted in local wisdom as a meaningful solution to help shape the moral development of adolescents. Using a descriptive qualitative approach within an action research framework, the program was implemented in a public high school located in a culturally rich community where traditional values are still widely practiced. The findings indicate a significant improvement in five key character traits: responsibility (23%), respectfulness (25%), cooperation (24%), tolerance (26%), and discipline (25%). Local values such as gotong royong (mutual cooperation), musyawarah (deliberation), and siri’ na pacce (dignity and empathy) were integrated into the learning process through contextual and collaborative methods. These efforts successfully encouraged students to internalize and apply positive behaviors in their daily lives. This study supports the theories of contextual learning and social constructivism, emphasizing that education grounded in cultural identity not only preserves heritage but also effectively nurtures strong character in young people. In a time of rapid globalization, such an approach proves to be both relevant and transformative.

Abstract

This study aims to examine whether the implementation of the Kampus Mengajar (Teaching Campus) Program aligns with the established policies, as well as to analyze the teaching and learning process within the program. The research was conducted from February to March 2025 using a quantitative research method. Data were collected through observation, questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. The subjects of this study were students from the Informatics and Computer Engineering Education Study Program who had participated in the Kampus Mengajar Program, selected using purposive sampling, totaling 85 respondents. The results showed that the implementation of the program by the students was in the moderate category, with a percentage of 29.4%. Likewise, the teaching process carried out by the students met the educational quality standards on the process aspect and was also categorized as moderate, with a percentage of 41.2%. Inferential analysis further revealed a positive influence of the Kampus Mengajar Program on education quality within the Process Standard aspect, with a correlation coefficient (R) of 0.630 and a coefficient of determination (R Square) of 0.397. This indicates that 39.7% of the variance in education quality was influenced by the implementation of the program, while the remaining 60.3% was affected by other factors not examined in this study.

Abstract

The availability of interactive digital teaching materials is needed to support the Learner Development course so that learning becomes more effective and accessible. This study evaluated the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of an interactive e-module developed for the Informatics and Computer Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Negeri Makassar. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the 4-D model (define, design, develop, disseminate). Data were collected through expert validation sheets (content and media), a student response questionnaire, and learning achievement tests, and were analyzed using descriptive statistics. The results indicated that the e-module demonstrated very high validity, with scores of 96% from the content expert and 92% from the media expert. Practicality based on student responses reached 90%, categorized as very practical. Effectiveness was evidenced by an 87% learning mastery rate in the very good category, indicating that the e-module effectively supported learning. Therefore, the developed interactive e-module meets the criteria of being valid, practical, and effective, and is feasible for use both in classroom instruction and for independent study.
