Abstract

Because of the unexpected and debilitating effect of the current pan-demic, the impact of the pandemic on teachers is detrimental. This paper investigated the public-school teachers' sleep, religious tasks, and suicidal thoughts. The study used a descriptive correlational de-sign with the online survey as the primary data gathering tool. 198 public school teachers from a school's division in Central Luzon, Phil-ippines participated in the online survey. The researchers created the online instrument with validation done by experts. After the data gathering, the study used the following statistical tools to calculate the frequency count, percentage, rank, t-test, and Analysis of Variance with the help of SPSS 22. Results show that teachers go to sleep be-tween 10:00-11:00 PM and wake up between 5:00-6:00 AM. This comprises 7-9 hours of sleep. Teachers also go to church or other re-ligious meetings once a week and also, they pray, meditate, or study the Bible more than once a week. Also, most of the responses of teach-ers in the suicidal thoughts were either "no" or "never". Furthermore, the study also found significant differences in the teachers' sleep, re-ligious tasks, and suicidal thoughts when grouped according to their profile. The study concluded that teachers have established sleep and religious tasks routines. On the other hand, suicidal thoughts are out of the options for the teachers’ business.

Abstract

In the advent of the “new normal” during the pandemic era, strategies to teach and learn switched to online. Students’ behavior and attitude also shifted from face-to-face to online. This study aims to assess the students' profiles and the prevalence of cyberbullying in the higher education institutions in Central Luzon, Philippines. The study used a descriptive-correlational technique with the help of an online survey to gather data. Using a convenience sampling technique, 300 higher education students participated in the online survey during the first semester of 2021–2022. In order to attain the objective of the study, the investigators used a standardized instrument. With the help of SPSS 23, the data analyst analyzed the gathered data using the following statistical tools: frequency, weighted mean, and non-parametrical tests like Kruskal-Wallis, Mann-Whitney U, and Spearman rho. The investigator found that the student-respondents were "never" cyberbullying victims or offenders. Furthermore, statistical inferences showed a variation for cyberbullying offenders as to age and sponsorship/scholarship and a weak indirect relationship between cyberbullying offenders and sponsorship/scholarship characteristics of the students. The investigators recommended pertinent implications for the new normal of learning among students and the institution from the study results.

Based on the evaluation, this paper found that some studies have shown promising results and positive experiences with the implementation education management information system (EMIS) in their institution. However, some did not execute well due to several reasons and factors. In addition, some research papers provided essential recommendations and suggestions that will help solve these different problems of EMIS. In the end, the paper concluded and shared some significant implications that school administrators can use for future references for policy and decision-making.

Abstract

The Pandemic thrust the workforce in the private and public sectors into alternative work arrangements. For higher education institutions in the Philippines, it was a sudden shift to a flexible learning modality to ensure continuity of learning. This cross-sectional descriptive study assessed the readiness of 219 faculty and 69 staff in a local college for alternative work arrangements in terms of access to transportation, their health condition, information technology resources, connectivity, and their preferences in terms of alternative work arrangements. Results show that most respondents use public transportation to work and a minor percentage have medical conditions that make them susceptible to the COVID-19 virus. The top information technology (I.T) resources available to the respondents at home are smartphones/iPhones, laptops, and printers. Most have intermittent internet connectivity, with DSL/Fiber Connectivity and mobile data the most common types. Finally, the majority believe they can work from home, given the nature of their duties. However, more respondents prefer a hybrid work arrangement to a full-time work-from-home placement. The researchers presented some essential implications for a hybrid workforce model at the end of the paper.

This study included measures of central tendency and inferential statistics to determine the relationship between KPO practices and the factors affecting them. The result of the study shows that among the three (3) KPO practices, the provider capability gained the highest level, followed by client-retained capacity and contractual governance. In addition, among the four (4) factors affecting KPO practices, regulatory aspects got the highest level, followed closely by innovative elements, technological factors, and human resource factors. Moreover, the study observed low to moderate associations between the KPO practices and the factors. Finally, the technological aspect emerged as a predictor of industry KPO practices.
