Abstract

First-year university students experience transition periods from high school to college level. Despite academic needs, first-year students in the COVID-19 pandemic also face new challenges, such as different peer networks, financial changes, and adaptation. Since resilience is defined as the ability to adapt successfully to pressure and challenges, it is essential to determine what psychological factors contribute to enhancing it. One of the factors related to life adaptation is optimism. Hence, this study aims to observe the relationship between optimism and resilience among university students. The sample comprised 420 first-year students from the UIN Suska Riau (Pekanbaru). Participants completed the CD-RISC Scale and Life Orientation Test (LOT-R). This study performed a linear regression analysis and captured that optimism explained 14.6% of resilience (R²= .146, β=48.163). Thus, identifying the factor influencing students’ adjustment to college life can develop an intervention to help students face this life transition.

Abstract

Trusts can change or shape someone because they are the most vital part of personality and character development. Muslims have plenty of examples to choose from, and the author chose Prophet Ibrahim in this article. He is a pious individual whom Siti Hajar and Prophet Ismail trusted. Characters are distinctive values for mental, morals or personality due to internalizing various beliefs that become a perspective, way of thinking, and behavior. This paper aims to examine the effect of trust in someone on the formation of self-character. The source of the study was the story of the Prophet Ibrahim, Siti Hajar and Prophet Ismail, which lies in the Qur'an and many journals written by experts and scholars. The results proved that trust could grow characteristics such as sincerity, patience and optimism. Trusts also created the driving force of desire in oneself to become likable, loved and respected person by Prophet Ibrahim and Allah SWT. The main lesson taken from Prophet Ibrahim was how positive characters were formed. He acted as desired, and finally, a change occurred because of acceptance.

Abstract

Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui dampak keberadaan TPA sampah terhadap lingkungan sosial masyarakat Kebon Kongok Desa Suka Makmur Kecamatan Gerung Kabupaten Lombok Barat, serta untuk mengetahui apa saja kendala yang dihadapi pemerintah dalam pengelolaan sampah di TPA Kebon Kongok Desa Suka Makmur Kecamatan Gerung Kabupaten Lombok Barat. Metode Penelitian menggunakan penelitian kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian menggunakan observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Teknik penentuan informan menggunakan Purposive Sampling. Analisis data yaitu, pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan dampak keberadaan TPA sampah terhadap lingkungan sosial masyarakat adalah, aktivitas masyarakat menjadi terganggu bila sedang beraktivitas di setiap harinya. Masyarakat bersikap dan berperilaku menerima dan tidak menerima. Perubahan gaya hidup terjadi setelah masyarakat bekerja di TPA Kebon Kongok. Kesehatan ada masyarakat yang terkena penyakit demam berdarah, sesak napas, gatal, dan batuk. Kesejahteraan, masyarakat merasa sejahtera dan ada masyarakat yang merasa tidak sejahtera dengan keberadaan TPA Kebon Kongok. Pendidikan, setelah masyarakat bekerja di TPA Kebon Kongok mereka dapat membiayai kebutuhan pendidikan anaknya. Adapun kendala yang dihadapi pemerintah dalam pengelolaan sampah di TPA Kebon Kongok adalah adanya Aksi demo, dan penutupan akses jalan yang dilewati oleh truk pengangkut sampah. Cara pemerintah mengatasi kendala tersebut adalah memberikan dana KDN, melakukan sosialisasi kepada masyarakat, dan mempekerjakan masyarakat.Abstract: The purpose of this study was to determine the impact of the existence of a waste landfill on the social environment of the Kebon Kongok community, Suka Makmur Village, Gerung District, West Lombok Regency, and to find out what obstacles the government faces in managing waste in the Kebon Kongok Landfill, Suka Makmur Village, Gerung District, West Lombok Regency. The research method uses qualitative research with data collection techniques in research using observation, interviews, and documentation. The technique of determining informants using Purposive Sampling. Data analysis, namely, data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the impact of the existence of waste landfills on the social environment of the community is that community activities become disrupted when doing activities every day. The community has an attitude and behavior of acceptance and non-acceptance. Lifestyle changes occurred after the community worked at the Kebon Kongok landfill. Health there are people who are affected by dengue fever, shortness of breath, itching, and coughing. Welfare, the community feels prosperous and there are people who feel not prosperous with the existence of Kebon Kongok Landfill. Education, after the community works at Kebon Kongok Landfill they can finance their children's educational needs. The obstacles faced by the government in managing waste at the Kebon Kongok landfill are demonstrations, and the closure of road access passed by garbage trucks. The way the government overcomes these obstacles is to provide KDN funds, conduct socialization to the community, and employ the community.

Abstract

AbstractEnvironmental Attitude is a positive or caring attitude that influences individual behavior to engage in activities related to the surrounding environment. Family Quality of Life (FQOL) is one of the main factors that influence students to have a caring attitude toward their environment, especially at school. This research aims to examine the role of family quality of life (FQOL) on environmental awareness (environmental attitude) among high school students in Riau Province. The subjects in this research were 734 students from 5 high schools who lived with their parents in Riau Province. The selection of schools in this research was carried out using non-probability sampling techniques based on accidental sampling. The data collection technique in this research was carried out by administering an environmental attitude and Family Quality of Life (FQOL) scale. Data analysis in this research was carried out using multiple regression techniques. Based on the results of the analysis that has been carried out, it shows a significant influence between the Family Quality of Life (FQOL) variable on Environmental Attitude. This means that the quality of family life for students can greatly influence their attitude of caring for the environment, especially at school. Environmental Attitude merupakan sikap positif atau kepedulian yang mempengaruhi perilaku inidividu untuk terlibat dalam aktivitas yang berkaitan dengan lingkungan sekitarnya. Kualitas kehidupan dalam keluarga atau Family Quality of Life (FQOL) menjadi salah satu faktor utama yang dapat mempengaruhi siswa memiliki sikap peduli terhadap lingkungannya terutama di sekolah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji peran kualitas hidup keluarga (FQOL) terhadap kepedulian lingkungan (environmental attitude) pada siswa SLTA di Provinsi Riau. Subjek dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 734 siswa dari 5 SLTA yang tinggal bersama orangtua di Provinsi Riau. Pemilihan sekolah dalam penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik random sampling dan pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik non probability sampling berdasarkan aksidental sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini dilakukan dengan mengadministrasikan instrumen penelitian skala environmental attitude dan Family Quality of Life (FQOL). Analisis data dalam penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik regresi berganda. Berdasarkan hasil analisis yang telah dilakukan menunjukkan hasil bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan antara variabel Family Quality of Life (FQOL) terhadap Environmental Attitude. Artinya bahwa kualitas dalam kehidupan keluarga bagi siswa dapat memberikan pengaruh besar terhadap sikap kepeduliannya dengan lingkungan terutama di sekolah.

Abstract

Abstrack Students studying away form home often face various challengers that reflect inadequate adjustment to new environment, indicating suboptimal psychological well being. This study investigates the role of self compassion and perceived social support in predicting the psychological well being of students studying away form home. A total of 178 university students in Pekanbaru ware recruited using accidental sampling. Data were collected using the self compassion scale, the Multidimensional scale of perceived social support and psychological well being scale. Multiple linear regression analysis revealed that self compassion and perceived social support significantly predicted psychological well being (F=59,417, R=0,636, p < 0,05). Interestingly, perceived social support showed a significant negative effect on psychological well being (β = -0,283, p < 0,05), suggesting that when support is perceived as intrusive or stress inducing, it may undermine rather than enhance well being. Keywords: self compassion, perceived social support, psychological well being, students studying away form home ABSTRAK Berbagai permasalahan dan tantangan yang dialami mahasiswa rantau mendandakan kurangnya penguasaan terhadap lingkungan baru yang menggambarkan psychological well being yang kurang baik. Psychological well being mahasiswa rantau dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor, diantaranya faktor internal seperti self compassion dan faktor eksternal seperti perceived social support. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran self compassion dan perceived social support terhadap psychological well being mahasiswa rantau. Sebanyak 178 orang mahasiswa yang berkuliah di kota Pekanbaru menjadi responden pada penelitian yang diperoleh dengan teknik accidental sampling. Data penelitian dikumpulkan menggunakan skala welas diri dari Suganto, Suwartono dan Sutanto, multidimensional scale of perceived social support (MSPSS) dari Zimet dan skala psychological well being dari Ryff. Berdasarkan hasil analisis regresi linear berganda diperoleh bahwa self compassion dan perceived social support berpengaruh signifikan terhadap psychological well being pada mahasiswa rantau dengan nilai koefisien regresi F = 59,417 dan nilai koefisien korelasi R = 0,636, p = 0,000 (p<0,005). Temuan lain dari penelitian ini yaitu perceived social support secara signifikan berpengaruh negatif terhadap psychological well being pada mahasiswa rantau (β =-0,283 dan p = 0,000 (p<0,05)). Hal ini menandakan bahwa ketika dukungan yang diperoleh dirasakan sebagai sesuatu yang menekan dan menjadi stresor maka akan menurunkan tingkat psychological well being pada mahasiswa rantau. Abstract

Belajar di Pondok Pesantren merupakan tantangan yang besar bagi siswa yang memasuki usia remaja. Remaja pada umumnya bebas menjalankan kehidupan di luar namun tidak demikian dengan remaja yang menjadi siswa (santri) di pondok pesantren. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat peran iklim sekolah dan integrative Islamic personality dengan wellbeing pada siswa di pondok pesantren. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 132 orang santri di pondok pesantren X di Pekanbaru dengan teknik non probability sampling. Alat ukur yang digunakan yaitu skala school climate dan skala Islamic integrative personality dari Tekke dan Ismail, dan alat ukur PERMA dari Seligman yang dikembangkan oleh Kern, et al dengan mengganti aspek meaning dan menambah dua faktor illbeing yaitu depresi dan kecemasan untuk mengukur Wellbeing pada santri. Hasil analisis menunjukkan school climate dan integrative personality berpengaruh positif terhadap kesejahteraan siswa di pondok pesantren dengan F sebesar 21,779 dengan sumbangan 25,2% dengan taraf signifikansi 0,00. Kesejahteraan siswa di pondok pesantren dapat diwujudkan melalui iklim sekolah yang positif dan kepribadian islam yang integratif melalui keberadaan mereka di pondok pesantren.
