Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of footwork training on student agility. This research method is experimental. The population in this study was 30 students. The technique of determining the sample using purposive sampling as many as 20 students. The data analysis technique of this research is paired sample test. The instrument used is shadow training. Based on these results, a correlation value of 0.896 was obtained, which means that there is a very strong relationship between pretest and posttest. From the pretest normality test data obtained with a value of 0.080 > 0.05 and posttest data with a value of 0.306 > 0.05, the data is normally distributed. Homogeneous test for pretest and posttest data is 0.058 which means > 0.05 the data is homogeneous. Data from the hypothesis test used to compare pretest and posttest results with a t value of 5.842 in the t table of 2.179 with a significant p value of 0.000. Therefore, t count 5.842 > t table 2.179 and a significant value of 0.000 < 0.05. From the data analysis, description, testing of research results, and discussion that has been done, it can be concluded that footwork training has an effect on increasing agility.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine how circuit training affects basketball dribble agility. This study used an experimental design, randomized pretest and posttest group design. The population in this study were all students who were members of the basketball extracurricular at SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Pringsewu, the total population was 40 students and the sample size was 24 students. In this study, descriptive analysis was used to calculate the mean, standard deviation, minimum, and maximum values of student body speed. The results and discussion of the study showed that circuit training was effective in increasing body agility, with an average increase of 4.58 seconds or an increase of 27.19%. The results of data analysis of the treatment group that practiced circuit training experienced a significant decrease in time of 4.60 seconds, while the control group that used the zig-zag run only experienced a decrease in time of 2.86 seconds. This finding answers the problem by showing that circuit training involving a variety of movements and high intensity is more effective in increasing lateral speed, coordination, and muscle strength which are indispensable in dribbling a basketball. The conclusion of this study is that circuit training can significantly improve basketball dribble agility.

Abstract

Abstract

Football is one of the sports that can support physical, mental, and social development, especially during the optimal development period (golden age) of adolescents. This period, which occurs at the age of 13-17 years, is an important period in physical development and motor skills. This study aims to analyze the effect of football on the optimal development of female adolescents in this age range. The study used a cross-sectional method involving 60 female adolescents who actively participated in football training at a football school in Central Java. The data collected included physical development (height, weight, and nutritional status based on BMI/age), motor development (balance, agility, and muscle strength), and social development (team interaction and self-confidence). The results showed that participation in football had a significant effect on physical development (p<0.05), motor (p<0.01), and social (p<0.01). This study concluded that football provides positive benefits during the optimal development period of female adolescents, especially in the physical, motor, and social aspects. Longitudinal studies with a larger population coverage are needed to identify appropriate training strategies to maximize development without increasing the risk of injury. Future research could explore the specific mechanisms through which football training influences these developmental aspects in female adolescents. It would be valuable to investigate whether the observed benefits are unique to football or if similar effects could be achieved through other team sports. Additionally, examining the long-term impact of sustained football participation on female adolescents' overall health, academic performance, and career prospects could provide valuable insights for policymakers and educators.

Abstract

Football is one of the sports that can support physical, mental, and social development, especially during the optimal development period (golden age) of adolescents. This period, which occurs at the age of 13-17, is an important period in physical development and motor skills. This study aims to analyze the influence of football on the optimal development of adolescent girls in this age range. The study used the cross-cutting method by involving 60 adolescent girls who actively participated in football training at a football school in Central Java. The data collected included physical development (height, weight, and nutritional status based on BMI/age), motor development (balance, agility, and muscle strength), and social development (team interaction and confidence). The results showed that participation in football had a significant influence on physical (p0.05), motor (p0.01), and social (p0.01) development. This study concludes that football provides positive benefits during the optimal development period of adolescent girls, especially in physical, motor, and social aspects. Longitudinal studies with larger population coverage are needed to identify appropriate exercise strategies to maximize progression without increasing the risk of injury.
