Abstract

Rata-rata anak putus sekolah yang ada di Kelurahan Permata Baru (Mandala) kecamatan Indralaya Utara Ogan Ilir menginginkan merubah nasib dengan cara mendapatkan penghasilan yang lebih layak dengan pekerjaan yang bisa diandalkan. Kelanjutan dari pembicaraan informal menyimpulkan bahwa mereka menginginkan untuk bisa berusaha sendiri (berwirausaha) yang memiliki core bisnis dengan keterampilan mereka yaitu jasa perbengkelan sepeda motor. Ini karena sepeda motor merupakan kendaraan utama di wilayah mereka sehingga perbengkelan prospektif. Pengabdian masyarakat ini memiliki tujuan memberikan pelatihan keterampilan perawatan dan service sepeda motor seperti tune-up dan dapat mengoperasikan peralatan reparasi secara benar serta penyuluhan tentang bidang mengelola usaha. Pada tahap awal, seluruh peserta dikumpulkan dan diberikan evaluasi awal untuk melihat tingkat pemahaman mereka yang nantinya akan dibandingkan dengan tes akhir (post-test). Selanjutnya, tahap kegiatan, peserta diberikan materi yang berhubungan dengan perawatan dan service sepeda motor, sehingga peserta akan paham tentang materi yang disampaikan. Materi yang disampaikan menggunakan metode ceramah, metode diskusi, demonstrasi dan praktik langsung. Terakhir adalah evaluasi akhir. Tujuan akhir dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah memberikan pengetahuan dan pemahaman terhadap bagaimana cara melakukan perawatan dan service sepeda motor. Penilaian keberhasilan dari kegiatan ini dilihat melalui kemajuan pengetahuan dan pemahaman serta keterampilan melalui perbandingan antara tes awal dan tes akhir.

Abstract

Gambar teknik merupakan mata pelajaran yang harus dikuasi oleh siswa SMK. Penggunaan software gambar teknik adalah harga lisensi yang mahal dan membutuhkan dukungan komputer yang memadai. Kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah pelatihan penggunaan dasar-dasar AutoCAD sebagai software di mata pelajaran Gambar Teknik di SMK N 1 Lempuing. Metode pelaksanaan pelatihan adalah ceramah, diskusi, demonstrasi, dan praktek. Dari hasil pre-test dan post-test, terjadi peningkatan peserta pelatihan menggunakan metode ceramah, diskusi, demonstrasi, dan praktek, yang dilakukan secara simultan. Kemudian, kegiatan pengabdian ini juga memberikan sharing pengalaman metode installasi AutoCAD berlisensi AcademicVersion.

Abstract

Pembangkit listrik tenaga surya (PLTS) merupakan solusi daerah yang mengalami krisis energi di Indonesia karena potensi energi surya yang melimpah. Desa Dabuk Rejo merupakan salah satu desa yang sedikit memiliki fasilitas lampu penerangan jalan tidak banyak, karenanya, PLTS merupakan usulan tepat sebagai pembangkit listrik mandiri untuk lampu penerangan jalan di desa Dabuk Rejo karena murah, ramah lingkungan, mudah di operasikan, mudah di rawat, dan mudah dipasang. Pendekatan participatory communication for social change digunakan sebagai metode pelaksanaan kegiatan, dimana pendekatan ini menjadi jembatan transfer pengetahuan dari tim pengabdi ke masyarakat. Sehingga, ketika terjadi kendala kerja di PLTS masyarakat dapat secara mandiri memperbaikinya, agar masyarakat merawat dan menjaga PLTS sehingga memiliki lifetime yang tinggi.

Abstract

This study explores the utilization of photovoltaic solar panels as a source of electrical energy to meet the needs in hard-to-reach areas. Using experimental methods, data were collected during observations from September 13 to September 18, 2024, encompassing measurements of voltage, current, and solar radiation intensity. The results indicate that the highest panel efficiency reached 25.12%, while the lowest was 19.25%, significantly influenced by sunlight intensity and panel temperature. Additionally, the highest convective heat transfer coefficient was recorded for Panel 1 at 96.64 W/m²K, showing a direct relationship with thermal conditions. This research emphasizes the importance of system design and the management of environmental factors to enhance panel efficiency. These findings open opportunities for the development of cooling technologies and more efficient energy conversion in the future.

Abstract

This study evaluates the impact of RON 90 and RON 92 fuels on the performance of a 4-stroke engine with a capacity of 2800 Watts. In the applied methodology, a 2800 Watt two-wheeler vehicle was used to test torque, power, and specific fuel consumption (SFC) at various engine speeds. The results show that RON 92 has better torque at 4000 RPM, while RON 90 exhibits higher torque at speeds approaching 7500 RPM. Power analysis indicates that both fuels produce the same maximum power of 8.7 HP, although it is achieved at different engine speeds. Meanwhile, in terms of SFC, RON 92 is more efficient at lower speeds, but the difference narrows at higher speeds. These findings provide insights into the performance of both types of fuel and their use in engine applications.

Abstract

This study explores the effect of blade count on the performance of low-scale horizontal axis wind turbines (HAWT) with NACA 0012 profiles using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) methods. The results show that the turbine with three blades achieves the highest efficiency, with a power coefficient (Cp) of 0.54 at a Tip-Speed Ratio (TSR) of 7, while the four-blade turbine reaches a Cp of 0.48 at a TSR of 6. The mechanical power produced by the three-blade turbine is 1,040.81 W, 28% higher than that of the four-blade turbine (927.28 W). The progressive distribution of the pitch angle in the three-blade turbine minimizes the risk of stall and flow separation. These findings suggest that fewer blades can reduce flow interference and vortex-induced losses, making it an efficient solution for the wind energy potential in Indonesia. Future research should explore geometric and material variations for further optimization.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of practicum facilities and infrastructure on student learning interest in the Corrosion course in the Mechanical Engineering Education Study Program. The method used is a quantitative method with a correlational approach. The sampling technique uses purposive sampling, with a total of 50 respondents from the class of 2022. The results of data analysis using the Pearson Product Moment  correlation test showed a significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) of 0.001, which is smaller than the significance level of 0.05. Thus, an alternative hypothesis is accepted. These results show that there is a significant influence between practicum facilities and infrastructure on student learning interest in the Corrosion course in the Mechanical Engineering Education Study Program. The results of this study show that the availability and quality of practicum infrastructure facilities contribute positively to increasing student learning interest, so the institution needs to pay attention to the management and development of practicum facilities so that the learning process is more optimal.
